Nothing's really new. It's all been done before in other games but the balance they've brought to MP is great.

Some say SP is amazing and blah blah blah, I think SP is only great in coop, otherwise it's just kinda fun. MP is where I'm having fun.
 
SP is awesome and fairly challenging, but it's a lot more fun with a friend. MP is awesome and very satisfying to kill someone with a chainsaw. It's nothing really new, it's just solid gamplay.
 
I need a new ****ing 360, mine is knackered. And when I do, I shall be buying this game.

I did feel the same way you did before about Gears, and if it weren't for the fun MP I would still probably write this one off since apparently SP is short (still haven't finished it since I picked up MP).
 
I believe FPS is going to get pwnd by TPS. Soon enough, TPS(Third Person Shooter) Will be a favorite of all gamers. Soon. Very soon...

Mind, I don't have Live. Is the story in SP any good?
 
The story is supposed to be better the second time around, because you'll apparently be Ohh!-ing and Ahh!-ing all the way the first time through. Most of the story is told in a very passive way, like you have to pay attention to what your guys say throughout the game, and small details that weave together and form the plot and the characters backstories. It's not anything deep, but people say there is a lot more detail that what you'd expect after finishing it the first time.

D: Get Live, it's awesome.

Barring that, the singleplayer is a ton of fun. I enjoy it a lot more than that of Double Agent, Condemned, Ghost Recon, Dead Rising, and even to an extent Oblivion.

IMO, I would go for Live anyway, if you think you could go a year buying 4 fewer CDs than usual, or seeing 5 fewer movies, or something like that.

SP is still great though, I definitely recommend GOW just for the campaign.
 
It sure is nice to play this game whenever I want at 137 inches at 1080i.
 
I won my first live match getting those 2 achievements (always remember your first, and Dont hate the player). What skin are you guys using? General whathisface for Locust, and Dom for COG for me >_>
 
I jsut beat it.. such a short game. Yet. Sweets. I smell a sequel!!!
 
I want to organize a HL2.net game..day/night on a saturday.. for Gears of War, we'll just play whateva you guys want, PM if your interested.

I HATE to be a Samon, but I'm getting past the oo's and ahhhh's and beginning to see very little as far as innovation or intuitive game design. I love what Epic does, but I just wish they would have changed the formula a bit more.

Atleast you've played it. That Samon pig was knocking it before the game was even released, and now look at him, he wants to buy it. I love it. :rolling:
 
It sounds interesting, might try for Christmas. Need Knight sof the Nine first though :D
 
Im playing it 1st time around with my brother CO-OP and this thing is ****ing amazing. Whoever owns the game knows what im talking about when i say...BBBOOOMMMM! (in a locust voice)

OH......MY.....GOD... the 1st time i heard that i was like HOLY SHIT! That is seriously awesome.

Not to mention the berzerker! ****ing thing moves like a tank with jets!

The game is insanely fun. I do recommend playing on Hardcore 1st time around and on co-op its really a piece of art.

This is also the 1st game or 1st thing i did on my SONY 60'' XBR2 and let me tell you now i almost shit my pants. Ill be posting a review with pics sometime.
 
Regardless of what is being said, i want this game as much as i did when HL2 was a week away.

Kind of becoming obsessed with it lol. I bought CoD3 (using a trade-in to half the price hehehe) so i could keep my mind off it and to give me something else to do.
 
I played with my friend on Insane yesterday. Dear. God. They are insane! I walk up to chainsaw on of em, and I die. I didnt even see him HIT me.

Yeah, the Boomers are awesome. They are a bitch to kill, but they're fun.

And first encounter with the Berserker, just said "**** this" and I shut off my console until the next morning. But it gives you such a feeling of satisfaction once you kill it amirite? Hammer of Dawn FTW.

Not to mention the Berserker fight on the TRAIN! Even tho it was easy wow when i saw him i was like **** YES!

OMFG, has ANYONE here been able to beat the last boss on insane? Pleeeeaaaassseee tell me what you did, I've tried EVERYTHING. I've spent the past 2 hours trying and trying and trying. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! Help me!
