Greatest GTA game of all time?

All the assassination missions from GTA:VC.

Most Toreno missions (including driving up the ramp of the plane to blow it up mid-air and the Harrier theft) and some of the hippie's (Area 69 and intercepting the train).

GTA2 by far brought me the most fun. It even had multiplayer built in, which was fun as ****.

I still say the absolute king of frustrating GTA missions is "Gripped" in GTA3. It's the one where you have to collect checkpoints while driving a Hummer up an seemingly sheer rockface. Took me three days and some major heartbreak to complete.

LOL, I remember that. IIRC it wasn't as hard as some of the other missions, and I beat it in like 5 or 6 attempts.

Ah, GTA 2's MP was awesome. On the school network, as many players as possible. Oh and the strange, strange things we came up with. "He's got immigrants!" for when someone jumps out of a van or truck with a gang in tow. Usually followed by "Oh crap! The border patrol!". Damn that was fun. Many an hour wasted.

For raw fun GTA 2 probubly wins it purely on the MP, but for an all rounder I'd have to say GTA: SA. Back to the 80's!

Am I the only one that wanted SA to be bigger? I want a GTA that is the size of the actual California and Nevada.

i've only played 3, vc, and sa but have never had the patience to finish any of them

out of what i played the one i enjoyed the most was gta3

Ive played gta series since the begining, I would have to say gta 3 was the first game that I said wow this is ****ing awesome... vc was just as good but it seemed too repetitive dunno maybe just me... then sa came and it was pretty awesome seemed pretty hard sometimes... but definately gta 3 is where the first awe shock came... hopefully gta 4 will have that same effect. think I have sa somewhere on a dvd for my pc, but I think I might go buy the xbox version of sa and play on my 360.

Don't. The loading times are terrible on the Xbox version.
