Had a good BF2 day?

I had one of my best days today, i couldnt find a thread that let me explain this.

it was me, Unfocused, and Amishslayer we were on the same team for a round or 2 and everything was going great, we were acting as a team all in one car and getting out to kill one person or a whole squad, anything that got in our way that was on the enemy was either dead or runnin g from us, but when the server switched me the the MEC side i thought that i was going to get the shit knocked out of me with amish in the helo and focus in the gunner set, to make it worse i had a ping of 200-300. i got in the MEC helo and was about to take off when some guy jumped in said said "lets move", i told him what my ping was and he said that he didnt care. so we took off and i told my teammates to spot the usmc helo (nobody did), so it was me and this guy looking for amish and focus the next thing that i knew we were being attacked from the rear, i got turned around only to find out that it was amish, after he killed me i thought that i would give it another go, the same guy got in and we were off. i headed to the helo spawn (sharqi penensula btw) and there was amish getting the helo repaired, so i took the advantage and destroyed him. although it only happened 2-3 times and he got me 6-7 i felt proud that i got the amish! and i got 2 ribbions which made the experence even better. :E

The time you're talking of specifically (I think anyways) - for some reason Unfocused had fallen out of the helo ("e" bug maybe - or shot out) and I was hurt and heading back to heal and pick him up and a few rockets to my side and I was done. Another time some other guy got the pilot's seat of the helo before me and I gunned. I got you guys once with a TV missile but overall the pilot was way too unsteady and had no idea where stingers were and we got shot out of the sky while he was trying to dogfight with you.

Before you got switched there was a helo team that kept trying to face us. The pilot sucked because he kept trying to circle around behind us as if we were flying jets. We dropped them so many times. Once he got us because he was trying to ram us while pulling up and his gunner got off a point blank tv missile as we finished them off.

I had a bad ping most of the game too. It was 150+ spiking to 300's every so often. Once I almost rammed the helo right into the tall rock face by the TV Station but pulled back stopping in front of it by inches and leveling myself to go rearm.

When you got switched the US team started going downhill. Our squad was still kicking ass but the overall team was sucking. One thing I didn't like about the server is the fact that they had a 32 player max but ran the 64 player version of the map. The game can kinda turn into whack-a-mole and battles aren't really as good as they could be.

There was one moment I was particularly proud of. I was AT about to head to the TV station to try and retake it and a T-90 + gunner was in the road. I fired a shot, hit the tracks and I sprint towards the tank and walk along the tracks while he tries to maneuver so he or his gunner can hit me. I get another shot off. He's smoking. He's still trying to maneuver around. He pulls away from me down the road a bit and is about to run me over. I dive down to the ground between the tracks and he rolls right over me. I fire one more shot and he starts on fire and blows up shortly afterwards.

It was a good game overall even though we lost when the time ran out. I had like 115 points or something, Unfocused was right behind me with like 90-something so I think we took down the top 2 medals.

I must've been pissing you off at the end of that round. I kept hitting you with rockets and you kept having to go repair

That one time you came in to strafe us on the construction site was cool. We all died but it was funny. I got that tk though, that was lame.

EDIT: I wish all servers ran BF recorder...that would've been a sweet round to record.

but what really pissed me off was when we were fighting in the air and one of my teammates put a stinger through you , it actually scared me at first because you just disappered into thin air no debris or anything

I remember that. That's when I had to gun. It was the commander that downed us from the stinger I think.

I'm not sure whether this was the moment you're talking about AmishSlayer, but anyways I remember I wasn't too good of a pilot that round. One time we went down was when you were flying and another was with some random pilot that sucked. He wasn't in our squad or anything.

I find that charging straight at them when strafing works. Missiles usually fly right under you. That or move at a complete right angle to them. Sometimes I just strafe-circle around them untill they fire their first 2 shots then move in to blow them up (or while my gunner kills him).

Had a lame day of BF2 today.

I've decided that the Cobra (in general) is better than the MI-28. Without a good gunner in the MI-28 you're just a gigantic, less maneuverable target for missiles. A Cobra can take you down easily whereas your missiles mostly just bracket the cobra in the air. I had a gunner that just sucked. He was the only one that would fly with me and he was a shitty pilot so I was kinda stuck with him. He was mostly blind and couldn't aim for shit. I'd point him straight at a humvee that's firing at us and he'd miss with a tv missile and just let it reload while he shot us down. I got the hell out of there but a wild shot from an SMAW took us down.

We had finally managed to neutralize the TV Station (Shariq) and I elevated us up to the rooftop and slowly circled around so he could shoot the 3 AT's up top. They missed a bunch of shots...but my gunner wasn't firing. He was just sitting there. Then I see a TV MISSILE fly out and miss all 3. Just then 2 rockets hit us and we're on fire so I bail quickly, my gunner is slow and dies with the chopper. I land and start capping the TV station. I ask people to join my squad and spawn on me so we can cap the flag in all caps. My gunner joins my squad but spawns by the chopper...I hang my head in disgust and I get blown up by an M203...I am seething with rage at this point.

Next time I spawn there's a 3rd guy by the chopper waiting for it to spawn. He gets left out of the chopper but I get stuck with the gunner position. I'm about to bail out before takeof to take a boat because I'm not in the mood to crash into the crane for a 3rd time when the guy that got left out says, "That just got you kicked". At the top of the screen I see an admin message saying something like, "KICKING AmishSlayer because he keeps taking one vehicle over and over. Let somebody else have a chance"

That was the ONLY time there was another person that got left out of the chopper...

Spiteful stupid admin.

I was having a great day today! I decided I'd try to practice my jet flying skills a bit. And I was doing great. The f-18's and such were getting shot out of the sky left and right. Hell, I gave up trying to bomb run, the jets were easy pickens! I was on Kubra dam, first round ended, I had 20 some odd kills. All jets..so that means I'm getting better. Anyway, 2nd round rolls around. I'm in a squad with the bomber from the last mission *we joined the same squad to coordiante a bit *HE'S ON MY TAIL! etc* anyway, while his bomber was stolen, he decided to tk me. I'm cool with that, from teh last round, I'm ok. Well, I getin my jet after getting tked 3 times. And I'm going through the air, just took out a bomber of theirs. I go back for a rearm of missles. I come up, turn, teamates bomber was there. *not the squadmate..but someone else.* Anyway, I'm like "WOHA WOHATOHWOHW SORRY!" and then I'm banned. 2 kills, they obviously both punished me. *sigh* I hate people.

I mean, how could I have stopped that? Stare at my radar while I ram into a mountain? No.

cleansweep is ridiculous when the american team has good jet pilots. literally these 2 jet pilots dropped those star bombs in two lines, making an X with me in the middle. and we can't do anything about it. im really starting to hate that map, because theres comes a point where your team just can't do anything to fight back, and theres no use even trying.

Yesterday I had a bad day. I had crappy k/d ratio and on top of that during one firefight I got a supply crate dropped on my head when I was quite pissed. I laughed at it however

But the same day I got banned from a server, which was actually a bit of my fault, because I couldn't maintain my anger. It was Gulf of Oman and I wanted to mess in the jets for a bit with my friend but they were taken so we capped some flags. When we died we spawned on the carrier , waited for jets for w a while and if nothing spawned we proceeded with playing without jets. On the carrier, however there was some guy that was tking us for no reason, planting c4's near us and blowing it up (like near the cannon when I was shooting it) He killed me like 3 times, I knifed him once for doing this shit. So like in the middle or near the end of the round I happen to be on the carrier while one of our jets gets shot down. So I'm waiting for it to spawn but just before it does so, the guy that was supposedly flying it all the time runs towards the spawnpoint and magically gets it before me even though I was standing there longer than him. So I was kinda pissed at that and stuck C4 to him and blew it up. Next thing I'm banned and my friend says that they wrote they did it because they have seen me doing some excessive teamkilling (while I actually tked twice) and that my name goes to EA (yeah, right). Oh yeah I didn't mention, that you couldn't punish or kick vote on the server so we couldn't kick the tker. It seems the admin was the jet whore, not letting others fly. I dunno maybe I acted like an ass and deserved this.

I had the most classic moment today...

(this is on the BF2 demo, so I'm talking about gulf of oman)

This server was full of noobs, one or 2 good guys on each team, I had been flying around in the Cobra with this guy using the gun, he was pretty good, for some reason, if you got TK'd on this server, there was no punish option, so the noobs were having a great time pissing everyone off.

I respawned on the carrier and saw a guy TKing some medic, so another guy shot him, then everyone seemed to pull out a pistol and start shooting each other, it was hilarious, it would of been even better with slow motion, I think there was about one guy left out of 15 people lying dead on the deck.

I got 12 chopper kills yesterday, I got fed up trying to aim the missiles and decided it would be easier to just plough my copter into the enemy. I must have taken down 6 or 7 copters like that Oh and a few days ago I accidentally crashed my plane into a teammate's copter and the server said that HE tked me... he was kinda pissed.

I was trying to land my plane, it overshot the landing zone and couldn't get back up, so I somehow crash landed in a narrow field surrounded by trees. With only 70% damage to the airplane. Then, I had to taxi my way through the trees for some 5 minutes or so and used the afterburner to launch myself off a cliff. Immediately after that, I crashed into a full enemy helicopter.

Once I was meeing with my mate in a jeep and I started driving at a slowly taking off jet. I wanted to turn in the last second to avoid it, but I didn't manage it and I crashed the car in the afterboruner or whatever is the name. The jet pilot got the tk :dozey:

things got a bit weird though when amish & i were in the us attack chopper, i was the gunner and when flying over the construction site i started firing into 1 guy but for some reason he just wouldnt die, musta hit him about 15-2- times directly but he wouldnt die, happened with another guy too, no idea wtf that was...:hmph:

Yeah, that's a shitty bug in the game right now. It only happens with the US chopper and Chinese chopper because the MEC chopper has the area of effect blast.

I can confirm that it is definately as the result of a bug. Me and my bro play online on two PCs in the same room and were both in a chopper. I was hovering and he was gunning. According to his screen he was shooting at three stationary infantry taking a flag and for some reason having no effect. But according to my screen, and thus, what the server is recording him as doing, his cannon was firing at a wall around 10m away from the enemy infantry, hence no kills!!

As mentioned before it is a bug that occurs in the cobra when the gunner changes from TV missile back to the cannon. For whatever reason the gun is not calibrated properly (even though it appears to be for the gunner). I have heard that the gunner looking to all four corners of their view may recalibrate what he is doing compared to what the server thinks he is, though I cannot confirm this.

the blast damage on the mec chopper's gun is definately greater than the us's as it would seem(didnt know about that bug tbh)...

well the same situation that you were talking about was happening to me, but i was the guy that was being missed, and i think that it was you and amish. i was on the third floor opposite to the flag at the construction site (sharqi btw) and the helo couldnt hit me for some reason...i was laughing so hard

Yeah, we owned Karkand. We took the top scores in the server and the MEC didn't stand a chance. Then people started jumping ship from MEC because the server didn't have autobalance on and I switched to MEC to help them out. It was a much better game but we still lost. Nobody wanted to squad with me

It was on the gulf of Oman, and I was helping out my american friends beat up the middle eastern guys and there were two bad guy helicopters near the base, I shot at one guy who got out but he jumped back in a took off..not noticing the other bad guy helicopter and they both had a mid-air collision!

Wasn't too bad. Operation Clean Sweep just started, i jumped into the MEC attack chopper and flew over to the back MEC base... Then out of nowhere a blackhawk came zooming infront of me, i tried to pull up over them (because i think ramming heli's with jets/heli's is gay), but alas... i couldn't.... Got 5 kills though!!
