photos of the scans and all.

Highest score they've ever given a game.

And like i said, anyone who doesnt think Halo 2 is going to get the same kind of scores as Half-Life 2, you've just been proven wrong

oh, and Tredoslop, POP: WW got 9.6

In all honestly I played the Halo 2 leak - I have it about 2 meters from me - and it sucks.

Well it doesnt suck, but imho Halo > Halo 2.

Nice :)

What is the general consensus of the people who played the leak?

I thought POP:WW was pretty bad, the combat was OK but it seemed random and repetative(maybe I just sucked at it) and the graphics sucked. Some of the characters in the demo were very blurry, like the whore in the demo.

Pros:
Cant rave enough about music
Value packed with multiplayer
incredible attention to detail

Cons:
The ending wasn't expected

Pros
Bigger more open levels with lotsa moving `cogs` in the terms of objects relavent to the location
Extremely smart ai - they use objects on the ground (debris or alien boxes) aswell as jump on them. Also they use the trick on banshees (its a roll, its neat) to avoid attacks.
Beefed up models when your close
Smart level design
More geeky story for those who like the whole literal halo thing.

Cons
Horrible art - the guns are pretty much just black human guns - and some of the colour choices (orange and pastal red) are HORRIBLE.
Poor framerate in cutscenes - I know theyre rendering alot of neat stuff but it seems to nosedive dramatically
Models go EXTREMELY visibly weaker when you walk away, its funny to walk 7 foot away and see the diffrence to 2 foot away.
Weak sounds, quieter and more `weak` sounds
Horrible story if you arent into the books - I found Halo's story much more involving.
Vehicles are 2x's slower (although its in french so I might have missed how to speed up abit more, no I know how to boost before you say it).

OXM....wait, microsoft, how much did you pay?...

J/K

Great! :D

But I'm amazed that POP:WW was slightly behind.

Although OXM is like the PC Gamer US of xbox - severe overating and underating.

koolz,

on a side note check here....

1) Halo 2 - 2) DOA: Ultimate - 3) OutRun2 - 4) Otogi 2 - 5) Conker: Live and Uncut - 6) Street Fighter: Anniversary Collection - 7) WWE Wrestlemania 21

thats a top 7 list, from a forumite over there, wowz... have these people seen HL2... atall?

question,... will Halo 2 do a Doom III and not live upto the immense hyped expectations..?

will the fact thats its on a console save that from happening?

some dude read that somone commented that it lives upto the standard of the first splinter cell , like he said, interpret that how you want .

oxm....alright, although i love to hear games i'm hyped up about get good scores i just don't think oxm is the type of magazine to give the honest review.

that's what i thought about half-life2 when the pc gamer review came out but after other reviews scoring in about the same region i was confident.

so i'll wait for egm, game informer, and gamepro, plus the rest of the pack to review the game.

Xbox's biggest game got a 9.7 from Offical Xbox Monthly
, BIG SUPRISE!!!
And Valve Weekly gave HL2 their highest score ever, 9.9.

PS: I will be buying this game.

the Halo2 leaks reach here too
and is in spanish!

the pyraci surprises me

Most of my friends (who played the leak) were impressed with the multi.

The SP feels different to that of halo (1), some of them were heavily impressed - others were not. Like azzor said - the level art design still is the same grey, standard halo "alien" geometry (bump mapping) with low res textures. The character models look blocky, at far.

Anyway - the A.I. and the physics are more polished. The A.I. can do more tricks, but it's pretty much the same like Halo's.

The music is - in a word "AWESOME".
Atmosphere = AWESOME.
Prerendered custscenes = AWESOME, but sometimes choppy.
Story = very GOOD.

Sounds good :)

I'm a little concerned by reports that single player 'feels' very different. Time will tell :)

Yeah, why fix something that was not at all broken?

Thats a good thing. The SP was boring unless you played with a friend.. or so I've heard.

I hope they sped it up a little.

No, the singleplayer was absolutely awesome. So great, in fact, that I didn't mind the mindless repetition of corridors. And that's saying something.

This is why one uses gamespot, and nothing else. IGN overrates and underrates too--gamespot always hits the nail on the head (imo)

No, it was slow, repetitive and got old pretty fast.

See how pointless it is arguing over opinion? So I'm gonna end my part in this now.

No, I say we keep saying the exact thing, back and forth, over and over again, until we turn this into an utterly pointless 50 page thread.

Just little differences really. Hardcore fans will hate it at first, but they'll love it when they get used to it (according to a bunch of people at the PA forums)

Having played it more at my friend's...all I will say is...MUCH HARDER. Legendary is rediculus (This coming from a person that can take down Halo Legendary quite easily now). Struggling on the first lvl.

DON'T SHOOT ME!

Yeah apparently they made Legendary ridiculously hard now

I'm glad though. I like a good challenge. It makes you feel that much better when you accomplish something like that.

Was it hard to find it ? Does it look good on pc ?

You seem pretty clueless. Halo 2 isn't on PC btw.

As some of you said, that you won't play the HL2 leak, well I'm not playing the Halo2 leak. I have both preordered, so meh.

Doesnt mean its as good as hl2. Keep inmind its rated comparing console games to it.

Gamespot have a serious bias to Consoles, the console reviewers seem to rate everything so highly, this can be seen by the fact that they've given perfect scores to a number of console game's, including "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3". pff.

To be honest I wouldn't trust OXM, considering Microsoft are publishing Halo 2 and probably own OXM as well.

That game deserved a 10...

omg /o\

Legendary was tough enough :)

(this is good news imo)

I tend to agree. But for the same reasons I wouldn't take PC Zone or Gamer seriously either.

Their scores of 96% plus for HL2 cause a wry smile as much OXM giving H2 9.7 does.

(and to be fair - PC publications are far more guilty of bias than even the most die hard console official mag. That is no exageration)

OXM is extremely biased toward Halo, I predicted they'd give halo 2 higher than a 9.5.

What are the main gameplay differences AmishSlayer?

I've heard the shield is slightly different? Is this the only main change?

I'm not that interested in duel weilding and kicking ppl off vehicles at the mo (that will come when I get the game :)) - just in the features that were present in the first and have changed.

No spoilers pls :)

Well, of course it's going to get 9.7 compared to X-Box games. It probably is the best game for X-box.

The question is how it would compare on a multi-platform basis.

Let's see what Edge and Games tm say in a month or so :)

Well today I tried Halo 2, and Xbox for the first time ever.

I didn't really like it that much, but I'm sure those of you who loved the first game will be drooling over it. The first level of Halo 2 feels very much like the first level of Halo. That's about all I got to play.
