So my friend got this at a midnight release... and the next day, I talked to him and he had beat it on Legendary already.
Arbiter kills Master Chief in the end.
Actually I have no idea what happens, and I won't since it's not coming out for PC and it's not in development.
Master Chief sacrifices himself to save both Covenent and Humanity.
Master Chief sacrifices himself to save both Covenent and Humanity.
It's obvious that he was going to die. After watching the commercials with marines speaking of their past experience, you can pretty much summarize that MC was either going to sacrifice himself or get killed.
Yes please. In Halo you were some awesome character who owned everything and blew up a giant ring. Then Halo 2 introduced an actual story that didn't make sense at all. They want you to read the books but frankly, I don't think it will help much.okay, if he doesn't really die, what happens. Someone explain.
"Wait, so you guys have the internet nowadays?"A few of us just went over to our friends car and had a look in his boot - it's literally FULL of Halo 3 merch. The new 360, a Halo controller, several models/figures, a Halo headset, the guide and the Limited Edition Helmet box of Halo, which comes in a really impressive looking packaging. As we were there my other mate called home to hear that he too has got a copy in the mail, so that's two down so far. I'm off to town during 5th lesson, can't wait. Getting through the next 3 lessons is going to suck.
Stig, you should play it with a load of friends sometime. If theres space, you're more than welcome to join me and my mates games, just as long as you don't start raving on about British people they shouldn't retaliate.
Meaty spoilers below, don't read if you don't want to know the ending in detail:someone tell me the ending, I don't like Halo, played the first game. (only liked the flood)
Does the Master Chef die???? TELL MEH!?
Add me if you want to play! Gamertag BadHat54.
Also, check out my filmshare for some short but sweet clips of some of my exploits so far. Goddamn the replay editor is fun to mess around with

Oh, for those who've finished it on legendary, is there any extra footage at the end? Like the little bit you get with sergeant whatsisface at the end of the first one.Basically a bunch of shit happens about saving earth and defeating the covenant (bar the elites who're on your side) and the flood, who're BASTARDS AND SHOULD RIGHTFULLY BE WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THE ****ING UNIVERSE. Ahem. So you end up on Halo (one of them), and arm it to fire a tactical burst to take out the last of the flood (I guess). However doing this will also blow up the ring itself, since it's unfinished. The last level is, in true Master Chef (sic) fashion, a dramatic escape scene wherein you jump a warthog across a chasm into a previously crash-landed frigate and "punch it". The ring blows with Mr. Chief still in close vicinity, seemingly obliterating him in the process. Cut to a scene with the Arbiter (who was on the same ship but a slightly different section... Lost anyone?) crash landing into the ocean and then a touching hill-top memorial for all the dead characters, including Master Chief. "I can't believe he's dead", says the stereotypical 80-year-old decorated war hero dude. "If it were so simple", replies the Arbiter (hint mother****ing hint).
-- CREDITS ROLL --
So if you have an ounce of patience you'll have waited past the credits to get to the real ending, if not stop reading and go watch it again. Master Chief is, of course, still well and alive, and floating in space in the other section of the aforementioned frigate (I think it got sent through a portal or something... wasn't too clear on that part, feel free to shed some light on that if you know any more than I do). His computerised companion, Cortana (who you spend the better part of the game trying to rescue... AND NO HOOK UP SCENE (don't ask me how it's possible, but you know you wanted it anyway)), sends out a distress signal, but says it may be years until anyone finds them. Chief hops into a stasis chamber type thingy (just like the one you first emerge from in Halo 1), and tells Cortana to "wake him when he's needed". She says "I'll miss you" and looks on sorrowfully as he closes the hatch (Chief you heartless cad!!), and then it fades to black.
THE MOTHER****ING END.
Edit - Wait wait wait... I just read what I quoted zombieturtle as saying properly. Let me get this straight. Of everything in the first Halo... you only liked the flood? As opposed to everything else?
D:
Weirdo.
Theatre mode is so ****ing awesome! Any game after Halo 3 that doesnt include something similar automatically fails.
So far i've been playing the single player on heroic and 4-player co-op on legendary - both have been soooo much fun. It's save to say that i've had more fun playing Halo 3 than any other shooter this year.
