Yes I realise this topic is completely unoriginal but I'm the latest to contribute.

the reason I wasn't online for the past week was because I was on a trip with my school to Rome and I came back today. While I was there I developed feelings for one of my classmates but I'm sure she doesn't feel the same way and the worst part is I think she has feelings for my best friend ;( ;(

What can I do? :(

Ask anyway.

If you get lucky, result.

If not, move on.

Tough, but those are the breaks.

:)

I feel ya man. Decide right now if you want to go for her or try and forget. Does your friend have feelings for her? If not then you may have a chance. Just act confident and funny around her and don't try to act into her and wait until she begins getting a little flirty and flirt back with jokes or whatever works. Just don't get obsessive or weird.

Suck it up and move on. There isnt anything you can do if she doesnt have feelings for you.

Go talk to her?

Just hanging out with her you should be able to tell her interest level with you and your best friend...that is, if you offer to go to a movie and she says, "hey can <your best friend> come?" it's probably a bad sign.

Not very much you can do. School sucks.

Asking her is a good idea, nonetheless, but try to do it in the most nonchalant way possible. Just go "Hey, fancy seeing a film sometime?" in a chirpy sorta mood, and shrug your shoulders and go "Sure, no problem" and walk away without looking hurt at all if she says no.

Confidence is everything. Don't plan it too much, just act on instinct.

meh there's at least a few billion more where that came from

But every single one of them is different and special, and an entire new puzzle.

I'm sure she's a lovely girl and will make some guy really happy.

Nah, the average girl is pretty interchangeable. Like they say, any port in a storm

till she accidentily sits/eats him

:O

ok fair enough to each his own

Okay thanks guys. I have to ssay I have no idea how my friend feels about this and I don't want to talk to him about it for obvious reasons. As some of you will probably know about me I have mentioned before that I've never had a gf and i'm 17 for crying out loud :(

I don't know what to do but I've got to give it a try.

I'm sure she's a lovely girl and will make some guy really happy.

yeah and I wanted that to be me ;(;(;(

You can't tell how pretty a woman is when the lights are turned off, but maybe that doesn't apply to all cases.

Also some sage advice from my country friends: "a warm hole is a warm hole"

sorry but I prefer my women not to wear paper burger king hats

and it may just be a wormhole but you have to find it first

"just follow the Twinkie trail of crumbs, you'll eventually get there .."

Don't let that get you down. Many many people are in the same situation. Just put yourself out there...you won't always succeed but at least you gave it a shot and make sure you learn from it. It might suck getting shot down but use it to improve your game so you won't have to be single forever and you also never know...it might work out. Really...the biggest 3 things that attract girls are looks, confidence and being funny. Mind you thats initial attraction but work on improving those 3 things and just get out there and talk to plenty of girls as the more seeds you plant the more likely you are to get something. Good luck! Never stop believing in yourself because as soon as you do you have lost.

I lol'ed. I say go with the Lawyers' advice and just ask her nonchalantly and shrug if she turns you down.

I'm 18 and have never had a girlfriend, oh noes I'm doomed? Hardly.

There are already practically gigabytes worth of girl advice in the bowels of this forum. All he had to do was go read any of the other hundreds of several pages long OMG GIRL HELP PLZ threads already in existence here.

Whoever wants to compile a list of how many different ways we've said "just try it, and if it doesn't work, move on" gets a cookie.

Is that because you've tried and failed, or is it because you've never met a girl you actually care enough about to try to date?

People focus too much on trying to achieve all of their "firsts" just because everyone else has. Don't be down on yourself about it just because other people tell you that you should.

Just ask her, you puss. "I like this girl but I don't know if she likes me she probably doesn't I bet she likes my best friend but I don't want to bring it up with him because it's awkward I wish I could be her someone special why doesn't anyone ever have feelings for me I'm 17 and have been girlfriendless all my life and I don't know what to do about it guys hey guys help me out guys I don't know what to do but I've gotta do something guys GUYS sniffle boo hoo guys help please"

You're spineless, that's why nobody's ever reciprocated feelings for you, you abject social reject. You come onto a forum asking for girl help when you're only "problem" is being to damned meek to walk up and ask her out on a date. Instead you decide to pine and cry and bemoan how she'd probably like to spend her nights in the arms of your friend rather than in your delta male arms. OH GOD, SO RONERY. What's the matter, numpty? Afraid of rejection? Afraid you're gonna piss yourself talking to a female? Afraid that--heaven forbid--she confirms your suspicions and doesn't have an interest in you, but instead may like your friend? MAN UP, god damn you! Grab your fucking penis and declare:

"THIS GIRL WILL GO OUT WITH ME OR SHE WON'T, BUT I MADE THE EFFORT!"

And you grab your fucking dick every time you feel like the pathetic little castrated non-man you sound like right now, and you fucking SHOUT.

Shout, god damn you!

SHOUT!

I dont mean to single you out but do you follow your own advice darkside?

seriously guys this isnt rocket scienec ..you hit on women that appear to have some interest in you and not hit on the ones that cringe when stand next to them. Once you lear to spot the cues rejection doesnt happen as often

The way to get that one girl is to get good with all girls.

I dont mean to single you out but do you follow your own advice darkside?
It has served me well.

Stern also lies; you hit on everything and everyone. Girl doesn't seem interested? Sell her on it. Don't be like, "Oh I like that one but this one seems interested let me play it safe."

That's how you wind up with uggos.

It doesnt matter how you say anything to her about 'asking her out', just try and not walk up to her and the first thing you say is 'uuhhhh yeah, wanna get a coffee after class?', thats just awkward and out of nowhere. For her to say yes, she needs to GENERALLY:

A - be alone with you
B - have been laughing with you earlier
C - single

If she says 'oh i like someone else', just say 'so?' and give her a big smile. Alot of girls do this to test you, 'so' is open ended so she has to react positively (ie says yes in the end), or she'll just laugh and say 'no im serious, but thanks'.

'Ive got a boyfriend', again say 'so?', she may still go for a drink with you or lunch (always try lunch instead of drinks, drinks/coffee is so common), but dont expect anything more really. Even if she shoots you down then agrees, go anyway, dont lose face, you can always go with her, have a good time and not go out again, but hey you just made a friend right?

You cant focus on one girl though, makes you mad/sick. If she shoots you down, just smile, say 'well maybe some other time then', keep talking or walk away after saying goodbye. Plenty more fish in the sea really.

Of course its hard putting all this into practice and youre generally a nervous wreck when its someone you genuinely like...but she'll pick up on the fact youre not talking to her just to get into her pants, and hey, maybe that alone will be enough for her to like you and go out for a while.

Like people here have said, each girl is different, knowing when what youre doing is working is the real trick.

Ultimately however, it all boils down to you reaching inside and grabbing a bigger set of balls. Dont wuss out. Many women like a man that can confront his 'fear' and go for what he wants :S

So I'm not the only one who thinks so. What's wrong with waiting? Finding someone mature? I figure as long as you have friends who are girls you'll at least know stuff.

Chloroform?

And don't worry about not having had a girlfriend at 18, I didn't have any relationships till I was nearly 20, and the girl I've been with for the past 2 years is amazing :)

AHA, contrary to popular teenage perception your 'shame' isn't written across your forehead, it's just in your head. If your gut tells you that she's more interested in your friend, then that's probably the case (the gut is rarely wrong in my experience) so my advice would be forget about impressing her, or hoping she'll see you hanging by the wall and instead work on your self esteem a bit. Shallow as it sounds spend a couple of months down the gym working out you'll be in a better place physically and women (when their young) notice that sort of thing.

As far as my experience goes, I agree.

That's not true. After a while you can pick up on subtle clues that mean you have a chance or don't. After a little while of getting the no chance clues you back off before you get your balls torn off. Stern is right you need to learn to be intuitive as girls are actually pretty easy to read, most people over complicate things.

Good advice. Just get her to hang out with you and show her a good time. Also a really good date idea is a PJ movie night. When she gets there in her PJs tell her how great she looks, then go to the local store and let her pick out her favorite ice cream. When you get back tease her by bragging your ice cream is better and then try hers and go "Oh wow....ok mine is sooo much better whatever!" by the end of the night she will be eating candy out of your hand. Just never get stressed and be down on yourself because you might not think it affects you but it will ruin your game. Just have fun and if nothing else use it as a learning experience. Everyone fails, it's the successful people that get back out there and try again.

If you don't ask her, you'll have to live with the regret of never trying when she hooks up with another dude, or moves away, or something.

Trust me...it sucks when you don't make moves and a year down the line your room mate is doing her like the slut she is. It sucks...a lot.

It has served me well.

i'm not entirely convinced

no, that's not how it works at all ..you dont settle, you work within your means meaning you dont hit on the woman that makes the sign of the cross as you approach you hit on the one that shows some interest in you
