HL2 SP MAP RELEASE: Antlion Troopers

Back to the map!

It does seem like a v hard map at first but it is not as bad as when you need turrets in HL2

Easy Pass:
Leave 1 or 2 of the turrets where they are at spawn on both sides. put the rest a few meters in front. runing aroung with one of the turrets in your hands will buy you time.

Few things from me:
1) There should only be one main weapon with the exception of turrets like in ST and high powered grenades like the nukes in ST would be sweet.
2)
The ships should leave at the end.
3) It's hard to walk around the top because the combind dont move for you.
4) There should be a second ramp.
5) And just for fun double everyting would be nice, map, base, combine, guns, bug's
6) Is it just me or does the main gun not respond sometimes when you try to use it?

But i'm not making fun as it is A class work and i'll be watching for the next fun map - thanks again
 
your correct the main turret gun seems to fail every now and then for me two, but i find that when i use it i get swamped by bugs from the side anyhow so it dosent concern me that much.
it would also be very tense if when the alarm went, combine strted running around getting into position like in ST,that would be cool.
of course this would mean that the bugs would have to run up to the base instead of appearing next to it, this would make it a hole lot more tense and overall fun.
i think that the base should resemble the one in ST, thjat base owned!
a tower that can still be reached by the bugs would present the main gun, and 3 onramps with wider paths at the top.

these are my ideas and i think that this would be VERY COOL.

Oh and I guess I should changed the synopsis because while you do ride in on a dropship I decided on a different story.

F*ck. Now I noticed that fps goes down to 1 frame per minute everytime at certain point. Im not sure, but im guessing that its the point where the guard spawns. Help?
 
Some reason its loading the second song on the fly. That is why you experience a quick fps spike.
 
Awesome mod. I started laughing so hard when the music kicked in. My only complaint is that your high quality version has exposed my computer for what it really is - OLD! (But I will continue to wallow in denail... :monkee: )

Or maby add some of those stamping pilars around the place and when they suddenly shut down (because of gordon freeman defeating the combine in some powerplant and shutting the plant down - so you hear combine screaming trough the radio "that gordon is destroying their powerplant and suddenly, pwzzzt! all power off, pilars stop and the antlion attack")

it really gives a bigger scale to the event. like your really a combine and gordon is in some other place kicking butt and you face the consequences of the loss of that attack by running out of power.
Yeah, and some nice backgrounds to go, a small version of the citadel somewhere far off would be cool.

Brilliant, mark this as the first really great mod to Half-life 2 folks!

you guys and your complicated tactics :D

I just left all the turrets in their spawned spots, took one with me, and went behind the ammo box while holding it in front of my face. Never fails.

Absolutely Awesome. Looking forwards to part 2.

BTW, all I did was stick 3 turrets behind the ammo box, two on the opposite end, crouch by the ammo box and I don't even have to fire a shot. Everything dies in midair. I only have to shoot once in a while to keep my turrets standing. xD
 
Man that was awesome, when all my guys died, those damn antlions kept swarming in the base so I jumped out and ran out into the desert. The turrets kept shooting at them so they kept jumping into the base, not paying attention to me. After they knocked all the turrets the guard came and then they saw me. So I kept sprinting to the sides picking the moff at a distance. Then the gunships came, but there were still dozens of the damn thing. So I ducked in a corner of the base and blasted whatever came in reach, until the ships cleared the mall out. I had like 20 hp when I won too. Awesome!

If only I didn't hate fighting Antlions :(

As long as the fps is much better in part 2 I'm happy.
