This thread has re-affirmed all of my reasons to drink heavily.
How should i approch this? Just be cool. You can admit you have never drank before. It is a fun thing to do. Just be like "I have never drank before..mix me something good....if its not good im gonna punch you in the face and hope all of your kids have birth defects. Just dont act like a pussy goody goody 2 shoe. Also after taking a small sip of a wine cooler(the bottled stuff like mikes hard lemonade...barcardi raz) don't be like "ZOMG AM I GONNA BE OK???" That stuff has about 1 shot in the whole thing.
How do i drink? (all in one or drink slowly) Go slow since your not used to your limits. Take a shot and wait about 5 mins and do another. Once you feel a buzz take one or 2 more and see what happens after that. It takes about 10-15 mins for the alchohol to begin to affect you.
How much is too much? When you pass out...don't drink really fast. I would say no more than 5 shots that night unless you do those and you are confident you can take more. That is about all I need and i have drank for a while now.
When should i stop drinking? Whenever you want. It is a safe bet to drink till your buzzed and have fun rather than get wasted and pass out waking up nakked on your friends kitchen table
Whats the risk of alcohol poisoning? I have drank till I have passed out before. Just don't drink an awful lot at the same time. Also don't eat a lot of food while drinking...you will throw it all up as your stomach has to deal with too much. Also don't mix wine, beer or hard alchohol in large quantities. Stick to one.

Oh yes, you definitely need to have a full stomach if you plan on chugging down a good amount. Really takes away the punch of the first three beers. But don't try to overdo your drinking, because puking with a full stomach = absolute hell.
Well, those guys didn't probably have a proper Internet-video-game forum to receive advices from.
My serious advices: Drink slowly, always have a glass a water with you, don't drink on an empty stomach (a proper meal two hours before drinking is ideal), don't mix anything (one sort of alcohol, no drugs) and have fun.

I heard these guys drank entire bottles of vodka etc.
Thanks
I vomited in my sleep once (isn't that how Hendrix died?) after getting particularly shitfaced on a bizarre mix of spirits, cider, beer and BBQ-ed meat. A friend of mine probably saved my life by scraping all the vomit off my face and chest (I think he even did his best with to get shit out of my mouth) while I snoozed away. Nevertheless I woke up in the morning (still drunk) with my mouth and nostrils full of mincemeat, and nearly shat myself on the way to the bathroom.
What you need to do is: do your best to avoid experiences like that.
- Don't mix your drinks - choose either spirits or beer or whatever, and stick with your choice for the night
- Don't drink stupidly, or too fast. If you feel fucked, don't keep taking more just because it's easier not to refuse.
- Stick to beer, in your case. It's not as strong, plus you'll drink slower because you probably won't like the taste to start with - while simultaneously looking more debonair and manly than the alcopops or litre-of-vodka crowd. That's not to say all beer tastes like ass; once you get used to it, there's lots that taste great.
- Don't listen to naysayers; food and alcohol is a GOOD combination. It will slow down the rate you get drunk by a lot - just don't drink too much or you'll die like Hendrix.
- I have no advice about teh ladyz D:
edit: be on your guard because your new friend is probably gay and will try it on with you when you are vulnerable to a well-timed rectal plundering.
Unless of course you ENJOY the morning after...

Very True. My inhibitions on this go away once I get a few beers down though.Don't mix your drinks - choose either spirits or beer or whatever, and stick with your choice for the night
I've had small amounts of wine, whiskey and beer and they all tasted god-awful. Is there any alcohol that tastes nice? (Not counting mixers where you're not even tasting the alcohol part anymore)
Are you sure you're irish?
There's something about taking shots and smoking cigarettes that's pure sex.
I don` ****ing understand you guys and your fear of the morning after, I never get hangovers, not because I don`t drink enough, I like to drink large mixed amounts.
I just cannot see how you guys feels so bad in the morning?
Also, this thread is win, I can`t be the only one who is having memories of awesome parties
then maybe after that you guys can jerk each other off in the locker room and you can let him sh1t on your chest. This one guy is even gona be my personal trainer from now on, taking me to the gym after school everyday. (Hes almost like a body builder and im a skinny gamer).
Everyone needs something different to make them happy. Partying doesn't do much for me in the long run. Sure, it's fun at the time, but I'm truly fulfilled and made happy by hard work. I know it's a bizzare concept, but I'm passionate about what I do. Point is, if I neglected school to party all the time, I would be neglecting who I was, and that wouldn't turn out well in the long run.70% of my high school drank regularly from age 16 up.
Somehow, we didn't all turn into total ****ups.
I can't honestly believe you would hold one's social life with such little value. That is one of the things that actually keeps people sane and not develop the inclination to shoot up their school or office later in life. Education is indeed important, but that shouldn't come at the sacrifice of your own personal well-being.
And it just so happens that drinking with others in your age group is a tried and true method for making acquaintances in high school that's existed for quite a long time.

But you know, balance in all things.
He speaks the truth. This is also great to take into the workplace (the speaking loud, clearly, confidently, and shaking peoples hand firmly part). There is nothing wrong with partying; it helps you learn how to talk to new people who do not share the same interests as you. Why is this important? Do you think your boss plays HL2? NO. What about the hot chick in your class? Probably not. It's so crucial to learn how to befriend strangers. Remember it's about WHO you know, not WHAT you know in this world. I can't tell you how many times i've benefited from this skill i've developed. Getting promotions when i really didn't deserve them, getting touchy/feely and #'s from girls that are in a higher league than me. It's great. If you don't, you'll end up like the King Henry guy (or something like that) who kept making pitty threads about how he couldn't get sex and/or a girl friend. LEARN TO SOCIALIZE or you'll be single/lonely for the rest of your life. Most importantly, mix with everyone, when you meet a girl, put your arm around her gently and say hi into her ear (especially if music is on loud). Theyll instantly know youre approachable and start introducing you to more (wear aftershave, 3 or 4 squirts around your neck and one or 2 on the back of your neck). Shake hands with guys firmly and speak up. If your small and skinny like you say (no offence), theyll expect you to be a puny shit that they can pick on all night. if you show them youre 'tough' from the start, theyll let you off a bit more. Sounds unrealistic, but its true.
Im probably the shyest guy on these forums when it comes to meeting people when im out, but if you show confidence as i have learned, youll be meeting people all over the place.
haha i've had some good times because of that :cheers:Have a few beers then that's just it - on impulse your chatting, laughing, singing and joking to and with new people and everyone around you. Have fun.
yeah, you gotta get drunk to undertstand the greatness of it. One minute your shy as hell, the next minute you have your arms wrapped around the ladies laughing, joking, and having fun. Live a little.Thirded. People who are like "OMG IT SOUNDS LAAAEM" can go suck a cock. It's a blast.
1. How old are you?
2. If you answered "under 21" do the following:
DO
*not drink
DO NOT
*drink
what you see as a "social life" in high school will ruin your prospects in the future. Cut the gaming, get a social hobby, join a club, join a sport, join band..for god sakes do something. But by all means do not party like crazy. I know I will get flamed for this, but unless you are either in late college or out of college it would be a very very bad idea for you to drink regularly. Your educational prospects are by far more important than any illusion of "social life" you will get by drinking and partying. If you want friends, find friends with similar interests to you and stick with them.
