Im looking into a laptop for college... and i want to be able to play HL2. Would this run it nicely?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1024 MB Ram
80GB HD
ATI 9700 Pro

If you could up the Vid-card to either 9800 Pro or XT or x800 Pro or XT.

AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.09GhZ
1024 MB Ram
ATI 9600 Pro 256MB

i assume im good enough, right? RIGHT? @_@ (someone said i could run it at full detail fine, but i dunno)

AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2,13 GHz
512 mb RAM
GeForce 4 MX440 64 MB <--sucks but it'll work. I may be able to swipe my dads TI4600 128 MB

3.0 Ghz pentium 4
512mb pc 3200 (upgrade to 1024 mb not too far away)
radeon 9600XT (never used aa and never will use it untill i have my own high end machine)

I'm as ready as i can be right now.
2.66 Ghz processor
768 megs of PC2700 ram
Ti4200 128 meg video card

The video card is holding me back but unfortunately mortgages, kids, pets, wife are getting in the way of the 9800pro i want. But there is Christmas, and a bonus check coming up. Hopefully i can use some of that to get a better card. But regardless i will enjoy the game as much as the card allows me.

AMD XP 2600+ 1.9 Ghz
512 mb RAM
Radeon 9200 SE

Everything is ok besides my graphics card I believe, but from reading this forum I see the Radeon 9800 Pro is the way to go and thats probably what I will have by the time HL 2 is released.

P4 2.53
768 MB RAM
Radeon 9800 Pro (2 days old :D)
And brand new Audiobahn headphones for the best sound quality

Bring on HL2 and Doom 3. I ate Far Cry for breakfast. :E

Welcome To The Forums! :)

And yeah, the new card should sort you out.

I myself am ready. Check my sig! :p

I'm ready! But something has happned to my comp when I was in scotland. When I came home I only got 4400 3d marks in 3Dmark 03:( Before I went away I got 5200. I don't want to formate it to maintain performance...

i only have 1 minus, its my cpu, its only a AMD 1800+ :( that sucks ass. Else is my computer prepared for maximum details :D

Well, since everyone seems to be posting their specs:

AMD XP 2400+ @ 2GHz
512 MB
Radeon 9600 Pro 256 MB
Some built-in sound card that seems to work just fine (Plus one speaker that thinks it's a rice bubble).

I think I should be okay...

+2500 @ +3200 2.2ghz on stock HSF
512 OCZ pc3500 (cas 2)
Audigy zs
Sapphire 9700 pro

amd xp 1900+
gf4 ti4400
512 ddr ram
240 gigs of hdd (1x200 1x40)

will run ok, but not great.

I'm just waiting for my damn X800 Pro to come out here. Then i can start playing it baby.

2.80ghz, 512 pc2700 ram will be enough wont it? if u include the card i ordered?

(no trying to show off, There's tons of people with stronger pc's out here)

specs
2.6 ghz processor
512mb RAM
geforce 4 mx 440

im going to change my crappy geforce for a Radeon 9800pro.

Yes, but I don't need it for HL2 to run well. There's no point if it will run well already.

My computer I'm using right now won't be able to run Half-Life 2 very well, HOWEVER... Tomorrow I go to Teletronics, and there I will pick out my brand new computer... It'll go in my room, and it'll be BUILT for Half-Life 2... *whipes saliva dipping from his lower lip*...

Lesser Computer Specs:
Pentium 4 - 2.53ghz
512mb DDR SDRam mem
80gb hard drive
Nvidia GeForce4 MX420

IM READY BABY! The only thing Im kinda worried about is maybe my video card but hey, I think its good enough for the job.

My laptop specs:
Pent 4 3.2 gig.
1gig DDR Ram
Radeon 9700 128mb
60gb HD
15.4 (WIDESCREEN! :) ) LCD screen.

no im not ready for half life 2. maybe i should kill myself. none of you are ready. your going to jizz on your keyboards while its installing, and then u cant use ur keyboard. so technically noones ready for hl2...unless you bought a 2nd keyboard...then....well then your thinking.

I have 2 keyboards ready, now.

Thx for the tip!

is it possible to play HL2 on a laptop?

Heck, i'm stupid, i don't even know what graphics card I have, where do you check that kind of thing?

i would never play an fps on a laptop without a mouse....and even then itd deteriorate so much of the experience from playing it on a pc.

if you had a mouse, how would it deteriorate from the experience?

Athlon XP 3000+ @ 2.22 Ghz
ASUS A7N8x v2.0
Western Digital 80 gig HD
512mb Kingston pc2700 @ 175mhz
Audigy 2 ZS
Logitech z640
Radeon 9800pro

I'm going to add another 512mb of ram sometime between now and the release of Doom3. I'm also thinking about getting some new speakers, if money allows, probably the Creative Gigaworks 5.1.

Ready and forever waiting....

P4 3ghz
1.5Gb PC2700
Sapphire x800Pro
Audigy 2 Plat Pro
Logitech 6.1 speakers (carn remember what model numb.)
WD SATA 74Gb 10k RPM raptor
Sony 19" CRT (or the 110cm Sony plasma in the lounge room) :naughty:

Ma computa owns joo!!

1.1 Ghz
312 MB DDR Ram
Nvidia Geforce...something(32MB)
Sound card:???
Mouse
Monitor
Speaker
Keyboard

Now I just need a whole new computer and i'll be set

My comps not bad but my video card is a 9100 pro.......That wont be good enough for Half-Life 2!

P4 1.7ghz
Raddy 9600pro
384mb RAM
SB Live
Win XP (all updates)

I think I'll be alright ;)

You'll manage, Willo, but you should upgrade (You're medium settings max now)
