I say alcohol, if anything, is a gateway drug. Mostly everyone I know has drank before they ever touched pot. I hate seeing these "anti-drug" fanatics that preach the world to death about how marijuana is the evil of Earth, then go to the local bar and drink until they pass out. Well, usually they deliever it in a car. Drop it off at someones house in exchange for a load of money. So if it goes bad (as in a bad deal) he will need protection. Only idiots sell on street corners and shit.

The way a deal can go bad is if the client doesn't feel like paying or can't afford it.

I've been buying for years and I've never bought from a street corner, I've never bought it out of a car either.

you read too much into the "just say no" propaganda that all people involved with drugs are gun carrying maniacs just waiting to kill someone to get a "fix". You dont have the money you dont buy it simple as that. No pot head would be that desperate to kill someone over a joint (I'm sure it's happened but is extremely rare as compared to someone on crack, crank, heroine etc....weed just doesnt inspire that sort of addiction usually attributed to hardcore drugs) Most of the dealers I've met over the years are small fry that do it just so they dont have to pay for the weed they smoke. They hold full time jobs, own homes, have families, pay taxes etc. It's just a side business for most. In order to make large cash you have to be on the importing side of things which is usually controlled by organised crime

Just my 2 cents on the issues:

People who think all drugs should be illegal don't like liberty. Sure, some of these drugs have negative effects, but you cant stop a person from using a substance just because it may hurt them. If we had to do that, all sports would be illegal, people would sit in there beds and do nothing all day and even then, people's health would suffer because they get fat. The fact is we live in a world or risks and if somebody wants to take more than others its their choice.

Secondly, marijuana never killed anyone, tabacco and alcohol kill thousands of people each year. The facts are: You can NOT overdose on marijuana, you can overdose on nicotine and alcohol though you can even overdose on CAFFEINE, but not marijuana. Yes marijuana contains more cancer causing tar then cigarettes, but nobody smokes 20 joints a day sitting in his room like people do with tabacco. There is also another argument with tabacco causing cancer. Some studies have found that tabacco smoke is slightly radioactive whereas pot smoke is not.

Thirdly, pot does not produce a physical dependance like the other 2 legal drugs do. They can create a mental dependance, but that depends on the person. Basicly if a person really decided to stop smoking pot, they could, their body wouldnt crave it (their mind could, but not there body). Tabacco has a physical addiction that lasts about a week, which is where you may get headaches and such...

As for legalizing it, I'm undecided on the issue. For those of you who think I am a pot head, I have never smoked anything in my life. These are just the facts.

Here in canada guns are harder to get, so a petty dealer purchasing an unregistered handgun is dangerous because if you're caught with it, you'll probably receive more jail time then if you had a couple of pounds of pot lying around. Most cops here tolerate pot and wouldnt give you a problem for simple possesion...unless it's large quantities.

Pot is simply a mood enhancer for pretty much everything you do. Music's better, foods better, everything is funnier, but you can also get paranoid which can suck sometimes. But, the drug itself, is NOT NEARLY as bad as alcohol. The only problem i see with pot are the idiots out there that dont see the difference between pot and hardcore drugs that can severely mess you up, it really is a gateway drug, maybe not to me or many of you here that use it but it is for other people and ive witnessed it first hand. I think for this reason alone pot should still be illegal, because of the people that cant control themselves and get into much worse drugs. Obviously its leading people to hardcore drugs even when its illegal but it will get to millions of more kids if it becomes legal. I can safely say ill never try anything of these hardcore drugs because #1 im informed, and #2 my life isnt totally messed up. Until much stricter drug laws are enforced and these hardcore drugs have dissappeared i dont see pot becoming legal because pot is always going to be in the environment with other hardcore drugs. Other than that there is absolutely no reason for alcohol and cigarettes to be legal and pot to be illegal. Now we all know alcohol will never be illegal again but it's killing millions of people, i guess thats all their choice though. In conclusion either get rid of all the excessive substance abusing idiots that cant control themselves or make all of these substances illegal. You can't just pick and choose which are ok and which arnt, especially when the legal ones are worse than one thats illegal
