Minnesota school shooting! (10 dead)

its 10 now,i heard 9 earlier, maybe someone wounded has died too, another youth on a gun rampage, maybe its time to tighten the owl' gunlaws now eh?

Well they believe the kid used his grandfather's gun, and apparently he was a police offiicer, so...yea.

How long till Jack Thompson blames it on Videogames?

That's sadly true. Someone will discover that this kid played games (probably GTA) and will blame that.

Don't be ridiculous! Isn't it obvious that the only possible way this could have happened was because he'd probably listened to rock music, seen violent films and played computer games. THOSE are the things we need to ban. Obviously :hmph:

mmm floaty :rolling:

Ugh, terrible news.

But like everyone else said, the police are going to trawl through his house and interview his friends, and find out that he may have played GTA at least once, which obviously lead to the shootings.

The Daily Mail - "BAN THESE EVIL GAMES NOW!!"

that's quite enough morphine now... :rolling:

it's always the games.... never mind the fact that he used to shoot rabbits on his daddy's farm, and wanted bigger game, its just HE PLAYED COMPUTER GAMES!. then again, to a certain extent the games might have had an influence on him

Finding a link between a murderer and games isn't that hard since everyone these days play games, so every murderer plays games too.

The kid had 2 handguns and a shotgun, he killed five people in one room and then shot himself.

i read that he and i qoute "liked hitler",so lets blame the nazis then

Lets blame the fact that these tools were available to him. Wherevere he got these weapons from the people who owned them should be imprisoned.

What do you mean?
The second sentence is a little hard to understand.

the chances of this happening in any other civilized nation in the world is slim at best (sure once or twice but this is at epidemic porportions in the US) ...I've said it before I'll say it again, easy access to guns has to have played a big role in this

sure they do, but in other countries their neighbours dont have guns, their milkmen, postal carriers, meter maids, paper delivery boys, couriers, garbage disposal guys, bus drivers, school crossing guards, teachers etc dont have guns ..the boy was armed to the teeth. I didnt see a real gun till I was an adult

"Student Sondra Hegstrom, 17, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that Weise was into goth culture, wore "a big old black trench coat," drew pictures of skeletons, listened to heavy metal music and "talked about death all the time."

this is a ****ing joke!!! I cant believe they've already started to run the "it isnt the gun's fault" propaganda bullshit ...jeez you all have no excuse when this happens on a regular basis ..it's like americans are willfully participating in their own demise

Not in the UK (unless you are trained for armed response, even then you don't take you guns home [sorry for the assumption that he got the guns from his grandad's house])

And
A couple of his friends had said he was suicidal, she added, and they said they were watching a movie once when he said, "That would be cool if I shot up the school."

Quick! Ban all films containing guns! Didnt anyone care or do anything about him being suicidal?? Or do they only remember when he shoots up a school?

what teen hasnt expressed at one point or another a suicidal thought? Most people have thought about it in the course of your life at least once. Where's the outrage over the fact that he had so many weapons on him? When will americans look to the true culprit? the boy had easy access to guns ..that's got to be the motivating factor here, or else there'd be an equal number of mass murders involving a baseball bat or ...axe

So you are saying the guns made him kill all those people? Because he had access to guns made him want to kill people?

of course not, but easy access to guns gave him the means to carry out his desire ...without the means there's no following through

It helped. Quite a bit I'd say.

Games, music, and movies do not make a person violent. They might contribute to the fact that they are violent, but it is not the necessarily cause of it. I personally am a violent fellow sometimes, not because of videogames, but because I cannot trust nor believe in my friends. They are fake, and I get angered by it. Plus, many other recent events leave me to believe that playing these "violent" games, listening to "hardcore" music(Good thing I don't. I personally hate it.), or even watching "violent" movies helps me get rid of my anger.

Yea the guns play a role but cmon people. His dad commited suicide, and he was livin with his grandparents. Some kids are just nut jobs especially when combined with a hard life. My point is that its not music or games, and its not really even the guns.

Anyway i think he did get the guns from his grandpa's house.

I had heard somthing about cops not using guns in the UK but i remembered after i posted =-/

And if he wanted guns he could have easily bought them, who doesn't know a black market weapons dealer?(seriously)

It's possible that because he could get a gun it may have given him 'inspiration', for want of a better word, to carry out the act
