As for the gun percentages, I'd have to say it really does depend on where you live. I live in the Northeast, and I've never seen anything to support numbers that high, even among hunters. At the same time I know in southern areas the numbers are much higher. As for the survey just posted:

That doesn't make it a bad poll in any way, but I just wouldn't call it representative of the whole US.
Edit: as for Moore, look up one of the earlier discussions on him. The idea that he "never lies" has not gone uncontested.

Not necessarily. On MSN's homepage I believe, they were showing a graph of the amount of teens who are expelled for bringing guns to school, & the highest was Montana. For you non-US folk Montana is right on the U.S\Canada border with British Columbia I believe. The only southern state with anywhere close to the numbers of Montana was Alabama, & all the others in the south were 0-8 & such.

this really sucks. i don't believe in taking the ability to defend ones self effectively away from the people. but i hate firearms. because their sole purpose is to kill.

anyone play the game, SWAT4? i wish non-lethal and less-than-lethal weapons could replace lethal firearms for civilians. so that if someone is screwed up, he can't go on a killing spree. yet it still gives americans the ability to defend themselves effectively.
