New protest protocol proposed.

Yeah, that's true. Although there's a lot of them who defend the CCP whatever (well, by defend I mean be apologetic), despite the time they've spent overseas. A lot of the overseas students just associate exclusively with other Chinese students and prefer not to talk politics.

I've also met a few people who were in the Tiananmen Square protests. Some fled to foreign countries to study, some returned to China.

I've noticed the "brainwashed Chinese zealotry" a lot on internet forums.
China is the greatest nation in the world.
Mandarin will become the world language soon.
Taiwan belongs to China.
Tiananmen Square never happened.

Yada yada yada...I really hope Shanghainese aren't as annoying as that, assuming that's where I'll be going.

i hope thats the minority.

correct me if i'm wrong, but hasn't the world in the recent years become more divided since the second world war? or even before that. seems like globalism is backfiring?!

We interact more now. The more encounters you have with somebody, the more likely you are to squabble about something.

Heh.

"China will rule the world before this century is out!"

There are a lot of crazy nationalist xenophobes in China, but there's also a lot of rational minded people who understand the power of logic and reason.

That's good to know.
What I really don't understand is Hong Kongers who are Chinese nationalists. That really baffles me.

I do find the prospect of Chinese imperialist ambitions quite disturbing, however.

or become friends. but i don't see that happening in the near future.

it's funny...in 10 years time we'll have few good drinkable water. in 20 years time there will be no more (cheap) oil. in 30 years time there will be no more sea food left in the oceans. in 50 years time we'll boil and drown to death in 100 years time well freeze to death. and people still argue about who has a bigger penis!

if i were in charge of the whole world i'd ban religion, art, literature, all kind of ideologies and philosophies. this stuff maybe interesting but it really does more harm than good.

picture it this way...if Joe doesn't kill his neigbour Al, who likes green more than blue, there is no need to write about Als poor injust death.

maybe i'm so upset lately because, my tap water tastes and looks like sand, three years in a row we had such a shitty summer with lot's of rain, on our beach the water is so misty you can't even see your hand, when i go camping there's a ****ing road or house everywhere i look. i got head tumors from all the flashy advertising panels on the local roads. on the bus i got stereo...on one side there are the gangsta rapers listening to their MP3 on full volume one the other i got skinheads, emos and crap alike. they all look at me funny for not being on their side. i see 13-year old girls having such short miniskirts i'm learning ginecology. don't even imagine starting a debate about global warming with someone.

it's like fasionable being stupid and ignorant.

well yes im a bit exagerating and generalizing, but how long before this becomes norm?

sorry...for wasting your time with that but i had to get it out sooner or later.

china should be thankfull for getting them out of the stone age. *even if we put them there* :p
