Nintendo World (3DS stuff)

The 3DS is looking pretty good in my opinion. I'll still need to test it out at a store before I buy it, but as of now I'm liking it a lot.

$250 is a bit of a high price though.

All of these titles have been confirmed with release dates either on launch or before e3, so all of them will be out within 2 months of the launch date:

Source: Gamasutra. Fresh off the presses.

Not the most solid list, but not terribly shabby either. Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil could easily be my first 2 game purchases. Starfox, Ocarina of Time, and Mario Kart are all confirmed in development too so they will probably be out before too long...

SSFIV, Dead or Alive (dem 3D tits and ass) and Rayman 3D look cool. Starfox, OoT and Mario Kart are sort of givens. I can't really say much about most of the other games as I haven't looked into them yet.

Are the Lego Star Wars games any good?

They like to screw early adopters quite a bit at Nintendo. I have little doubt there is a better model that may not be much smaller, but will have a better battery with perhaps even higher ram, after all dsi is much more hefty than ds phat or lite

I, for one, can't wait for the 3DSXXLLi with "Super 3D".

Poor battery life, now where have I heard about such things before? Oh right Nintendo.

“For games, it is absolutely meaningless if your console doesn’t have a battery life of 10-20 hours.” - Iwata

I doubt the battery life is short for a sinister reason - there's alot of hardware being crammed into a tiny case. People said the same thing about the PSP. Other than on a long plane journey - when do you need more than 3-5 hrs for a handheld? My commute is an hour which leaves time to spare (as long as I remeber to charge it up each day!)

Wha.... ? I can't even get to Lincolnshire on less than 5 hours, and I'd expect it to crap out on me the second I got to any destination the north side of London. You and I live in a teeny tiny, densely populated backwater of the earth as well. Traversing most of the US or much of Europe could be difficult.

That and the fact that no battery life estimate ever has been anything less than a best case scenario that becomes irrelevant after a) you actually use the thing and b) you've used it for three months and the charge it holds is deteriorating rapidly.

Sure, it'll be fine for everyday commuting, but then it's another device to lug around and I doubt this is the typical use of handheld consoles outside of a 'wacky Japan Dragon Quest release' article.

Call me crazy, but even when playing at home I prefer not to have it plugged in. Can't reach the outlet from my couch anyway, and I'm not about to rearrange my entire living room so I can play a ****ing portable device for more than 3 hours without charging.

You're crazy.

Give me Outbreak with RE5 controls and I'll be happy.

Theres a difference? Theres no second stick on 3ds so its not the case here. This game has the Lost in Nightmares feeling to it, more avoidance of strong enemies, less hordes or action. But it is very early for this

I just miss the traditional slow-moving zombies, is all.

The enemy I saw in the demo for the 3DS title looked more like something out of Dead Space :p

Anyway, I was thinking specifically about the PSP game, if you didn't know a PSP RE was announced in '09 but very little info has been released, there are rumors floating about the project has been re-tooled for the PSP2 instead.

The PSP2 has dual analog sticks.

Pretty sure they rolled that into revelations, i havent heard anything on it

The enemy in the demo reminds me a lot of the ax guy in 5 or the Lost in Nightmares creatures, which gives me hope for an expansion on the general theme( with more than one type of enemy of course)

PSP resident evil sounds good to me though, hell psp2 could give you Outbreak like online

Yeah, it could.

Anyway, I haven't tried Lost in Nightmares or such, don't own the RE5 DLCs.

Here's some fake shit that looks way too awesome:
