Hmm..yes no sexually explicit content is going a bit overboard...but IMO I won't miss it as I don't play or enjoy those types of games.

Yes. I'd say that's rather more important than the booth babes.Erestheux said:Actually, that is much more of an important issue than the bizarely-clad females. I wonder why they would do this, and what games this will end up affecting... and if Whacko Jacko has something to do with their decision.

But as for viewing anonymous women just because you get off on it, i think you're a perv.
YES, MY VIEW IS RIGHT WINGED! I dont care! Its my opinion! Its also the opinion of many others. Yah! I'm American too! I know many of you think Americans are stupid. My country is FULL of people like me, WHO CARES? I have the freedom to share my beliefs.
Sulkdodds said:But it's not just 'those type of games' Glirk. It's not just Leisure Suit Larry and Private Dancer (which suck anyway so who gives a shit). It's also games which include sexual content as simply a small part of their remit or as a single sequence and not as the whole point of the whole game. It's Fahrenheit (mature consensual sex!) and GTA (whores and girlfriends with optional coffee!) and It's like banning Terminator because it has a sex scene in it. EDIT: Even if it's only nudity, that's still stupid.

I think they are getting at that you can't show that type of stuff at e3. So the devs can show the rest of the game and not the adult themed content.
So essentially sex ceases to be a selling point.Glirk Dient said:I think they are getting at that you can't show that type of stuff at e3. So the devs can show the rest of the game and not the adult themed content.

Uriel said:I dont care if you think I'm annoying, ill post my opinion and share my views. I really find your view as nudity being natural primitive. Giving into your urges I think is destructive.
Uriel said:Honestly, BB's are one thing, but im hitting on a bigger subject. I think looking at girls just because they're beautiful is degrading to women. Dont believe me? GO ASK ONE.
Uriel said:As for pornography, it is something clearly destructive, go reseach it.
Uriel said:I'm not saying there is nudity/porn at E3, but the fact is the same, you're getting your jollies off by the way they look.
Uriel said:Am I saying we should never look at women? HECK NO, but I am saying you shouldnt view all women like that. I think being physically attracted to your girlfriend is fine, or your wife/fiancee, whatever. But as for viewing anonymous women just because you get off on it, i think you're a perv.

I feel the same way about the issue. I want the gaming industry to have a little class. Gaming doesn't have to be another stereotypically hormone drenched "guy thing." It can be an artform, just like books or movies. But if we want it to be seen like that, we have to consciously clean up our image. And that's why putting a leash on booth babes is a step in the right direction.vegeta said:Sure it may be nice to have, don't get my wrong I'm not without my hormones, but look at the image it projects for gamers... Hormone crazed teens...
E3 booth babes are sex objects. That's what they're there for.stern said:looking at a woman and seeing her as a purely sexual object is degrading, admiring someone for their beauty is not
Narcolepsy said:And that's why putting a leash on booth babes is a step in the right direction.
That's what I mean. Maybe prohibited on the main floor but a special area for them guarded by bouncers.CptStern said:prohibited under the new rules
CptStern said:pure opinion because you dont experience to back you up ..oh and NOT giving into urges IS destructive ..you might as well cease breathing because they're both biological functions
CptStern said:so admiring someone for their intelligence is degrading? funny how you warp god's message of "all thinggs are beautiful" ..looking at a woman and seeing her as a purely sexual object is degrading, admiring someone for their beauty is not
CptStern said:you want to back up your statement? ANYTHING to the point of obsessionis destructive ..porn is no more or less destructive than gaming is
CptStern said:who is getting their jollies off? certainly not the majority of game developers that are there because theat's not why they're there ...some people know better than to be turned on by someone who doesnt reciprocate the feeling
CptStern said:omg you cant be serious ..so before you started dating your girlfriend you were a pervert for finding her attractive? that's just silly
CptStern said:very very small minority ..these are also the same people who burned Beatles records because Lennon said they were bigger than jesus, or that say gaming is eveil because it trains children to kill ...fundamentalist pov's are in the minority
Mechagodzilla said:If you call 'em "bajungums", chances are you have have to no reason to worry about women shaking their breasts at you.

I just typed a nice, concise reply that made several good points and backed them up with given facts.
Then I pressed submit without logging in.
Anyways, good job Uriel keeping your asscheeks firmly closed while stern tries desperately to insert the enema of liberalism into you.
CptStern said:looks like you can use some too ...bend over, I promise to apply the ky jelly liberaly to prevent chaffing. Judging by your past comments I'll have to use the entire jar

Solaris said:I'm still not sure, the leftist movement I'm part of would applaud this move, and say booth babes are wrong, I've never really questioned it.
It does sort of exclude a female audience though, and these women are so much more than just good looking, its sort of an insult, but then again everyones having fun.
But what if they got males in swimsuits, would that put you off at all?
