True, but the US invaded Vietnam later on, and using napalm and Agent Orange managed to 1) Screw up the existing population at the time, killing many civilians in the process and 2) Screw up future Vietnamese births by using Agent Orange against the Vietcong. Afterwards however, they then installed a dictator which proceeded to butcher even more of his civilians ! Sure, France is partly to blame for Vietnam, but the U.S simply buggered up the situation further by not keeping their noses out of it.

actually the dictator we instilled was already the dictator lol. We just hooked up with the wrong guy. the agent orange also screwed up us. My father is messed badly because of it. As for saying france is partly to blame. France did what we did for 100 years. France is the people that put us in touch with that dictator. France is the one who picked the wrong side and said that was the democratic side, which in fact was not true. In vietnam we were fighting the actual freedom fighters, rather then those who wanted freedom. We were fighting against the same people who were fighting france. See in the old days everything was shady and there was no internet and people couldnt tell who to believe. Do you believe a guy who u dont understand from an opposite culture, or do you listen to an ally, who swears that it was a democracy there? The guys fighting france for 100 years were the guys we fought against. I am not saying france is to fully blame, but france is the reason we went to that country. France led us to believe alot of things which were not true.

The fact is genocide on the scales of nazism has been conducted in africa and it has been supported by france, militarily and financially. Those are facts. 2) I never insulted the American people's generosity.

3) We did not enter Vietnam because of France's bumblings. Vietnam was a chess piece in the Cold War and we deployed troops there as part of our policy of containment.
