Not BF3 but might as well call it BF3.

Delayed ;(

Well, glad to hear they're commited to make a proper port.

So happy they delayed it. More player count equals more chance to get in the beta and more fun. Plus they are doing stuff that you just can't find on a console like a joystick.

Yeah, at first I was really bummed about this, but more features for the PC version makes the wait not so bad at all.

Oh man, I can't wait for the PC beta / demo / whatever to arrive.

That little pistol he pulled out at the end, is a marking device so chopper pilots can see where you need support. :D

I wonder how long they'll keep the limited edition deal going. I want to see how the game runs before I commit to buying it.

That was in the original Bad Company. :| If it's anything like the old tagger, rockets become homing/targetting lock rockets when a beacon is found, meaning you can fire round corners, over hills, etc. I really dislike how that has been coupled with the Engineer now as it's going to make for some really simple lonewolf kills, whereas before you needed a Spec Op to have the tagger with an Engineer in tandom to make use of the beacons. Bit lame it's now combined, but I'll see how it plays.

I think some folk really need to go back a year and check out the original Bad Company because reading this thread is pretty shameful to just how much it seems to have been ignored.

I thought that was supposed to be an open beta? I want to see how it runs BEFORE I decide on buying it.

And Shaker spotted somewhere it's US only anyway? FFS...

I think it being a console only game is a factor. I only played the demo at a friends house because I don't have a console.

Whilst true, I think that's a pretty poor reason to not take any interest in the game whatsoever. Though I game pretty much exclusively on my console for a number of reasons, I still keep my ear to the ground on the latest upcomings that interest me, hoping maybe one day I'll come across something exclusive to a different platform that will sway me. I look through this thread and others like it and see alot of avid BF2 fans, though none of which who seem to have known much or anything about the original Bad Company but have taken a keen interest in this - a game which is built upon the excellent gameplay foundations of the first. I think that's a bit of a shame to be honest, though it's not really any of my business I suppose. I did take an interest in BC and enjoyed - and still do - playing it.

It's the same tracer dart gun(that occupies your secondary arm slot meaning you lose any pistol you might use) as in the beta all it does is tag/mark an enemy/enemy vehicle on the mini-map and hud. Then if someone is at the spawn base they can use that mini-uav chopper in the vid and call in a laser missile but the reload time is really slow and it doesn't lock on - you haveto keep the target in the crosshairs.

I was referring to the link Hool posted. Doesn't that say the open beta is exclusive for Gamestop online customers?

Perhaps, I couldn't be bothered to check, that's why I said you spotted it.

BTW, doesn't the term "open beta" refer to a beta that is free for all? Not one exclusive to Gamestop online customers for instance?

I don't know, maybe it was supposed to be obvious that it's not open for all, but it wasn't to me :|

Well, I can accept that they've removed the lock-on feature for rockets esp. considering they've dumbed down two classes and merged them together, so I'm actually thankful it's been removed otherwise it would of been too easy to destroy vehicles. Either way, the lock-on rockets feature was never used to it's advantage that much anyway as it required someone playing a sneaky support role to get behind enemy lines, not kill anyone, then tag stuff up and fall back. That was often me - I don't care for points and kills, just the benefit of the team and the game. I LOVED tagging stuff so that they appeared on radar for people to see. I'll be doing the same in BC2. :)

Yeah I did that the other day. Was playing assault class for the Russkis. The Americans had taken the town area so their base was now there. Moved in among the buildings and just camped there tagging enemies. Feels good man.

I like the little beacon nade thing the sniper gets. You get spot kills and it helps.

Yeh, I still wish there was a system for all players to tell teammates of enemies like in bf2 where you could use the input wheel thing - ''we got armour'' etc and it would show up on the map.

From what I see the only people able to mark enemies on the map/hud are ppl using the tracer gun and snipers using their beacon nades. Although, when snipers use their rifles the general location of the shot comes up on the map which is a nice touch.

Press "Select" to tell your teammates of enemies.

Bing bing! There is always someone on each team that has a 3rd hand just smacking select the entire time, also. Makes a Snipers life hell.

Hmm really? When I press it the scoreboard comes up.

I'm guessing that when you use the select method the enemy is only higlhighted for a brief amount of time whereas when you mark it with a tracer dart it stays marked until you die.

Correct, if I'm not mistaken, 5-10 seconds sounds like how long the highlight lasts.
