I just saw this in Info thread:

"This is done for performance. In most games, including ours, after the body dies, it will eventually fade away so that it's no longer drawn. Also, turning off the collisions on the model improve performance."

Does that mean that unlike say Far Cry, the dead bodies don't react properly and one can thus have multiple dead bodies "sticking" into each other rather then them being stacked correctly?

That kind of sucks.

Who cares? I mean really.

For one, I do.

Like I said earlier, it is one of those factors which adds up to create a greater sense of immersion. Heck, someone might say (and people have said) "who cares if the eyes look good in source??". It is just one of those little things that I don't want to see left out.

For christs sake even Goldeneye had this feature. Hell even DOOM had the enemies react at times when shot. Surely Half-Life 2 will have it. That'd be kind of sad if they left that out. To some of you it's a little feature, but it's the little things that are going to make or break a game like this.

I am hoping that there will be a config.cfg line where i will be able to turn off the fading out of dead bodies, i don't mind the option being there for the people with much lesser software, but i have the fastest and i don't want to be held back by them.

I know that you mean, I just loved to see the mercs jump/jerk up in far cry. I really haven't noticed this, but they didn't get in the way while walking even.

Do people read? I already answered throughs my leets knowledge the answer, I put in spoilers as it could be construed as spoiler, but it answers the question based on an older version of the Source, if they are makin sources better they would no downgrade the stuff.

The leak is very old. If you were to be trusted, why has valve said that in a recent e-mail that the reactions won't take place?
