I was glad that Shawn Johnson finally got a gold on the balance beam. She just looks like a really happy friendly kid. I was like, "Awwww, that's adorable."
 
Anyone think Bolt is inhuman, I mean yeh he beat a previously thought unbeatable 200m record, but in the semis he was ****ing jogging while the yank next to him ran for his life, he could have been sipping some tea he was that relaxed.

And yeh on the topic above, China deserved everyone one of those medals, saw them perform in most of the gymnastic events and they were absolutely fantastic. I hope in 2012 the home advantage will push the UK into second xD

Also, I'm getting real sick of this whole controversy about the judging. Yeah sure, the tiebraking method is kinda dumb, but its not like they made up on the spot. The judges each gave their own score, the two gymnasts were tied, and that method had to be taken into effect. Being in America all I have heard about is how their athlete shouldve won, and how the reason she wasnt first was because of inexperienced judges.

Accept it and move on, bitches. Let China have their glory and know that it's all just a technicality and you did just as good in that tie.

I would not be the least bit surprised if there was some big ceremony when they got home, and like... there was this bullshit awarding of "The Real Gold Medal you should have received"

If USA was on the opposite side of this whole thing, they would be telling China, "Hey, it's in the rules. Sorry, suck it up."
 
I mean really, in Canada we broadcast all the Olympics we can get our hands on. Here, they only broadcast events with Americans, any tiny tidbit of news to do with Phelps, or they dont broadcast at all.
 
People have no clue about how the event is scored and want to complain about the result. It usually starts out like this, "Well, I'm no judge, but .." OK, stop right there.

Even the American announcers for NBC were saying that the scores for that event were completely wrong though, so expect to hear more about it. :rolleyes:

While I know all of these people have worked their whole lives for this moment, I trust that if there is some kind of cheating going on, that people that actually have the power to do something about it will.

Medals have been taken back years after being given, so it's never too late.

For now, we should assume that they scores are correct, and congratulate the winners.
 
lol the silver medalist and bronze medalist get disqualified in the 200m track (stepping on inside line). Dudes in 4th and 5th get those medals.
 
The US won more medals in Sabre Fencing this year than the past 60 years combined.

Hah, the chinese who won gold in gymnastics is under investigation cause theres a document saying she's really 14. Might turn that into a gold for America.
 
I'm about to start watching the Mens Cycling Road Race. It's a grueling 6 hour race.

It is about the time where that Chinese girl nearly fell off twice and had to catch her balance while we did a near flawless performance yet still get like 5 points less.:hmph:
 
Ah, curse you China and beating us out for gold in diving.

Ah well, a fantastic performance well deserving a silver medal.
 
The Canadian diver was fantastic.

Oh man, yeah that had to blow. Both the mens and womens teams screwed up. I dunno how our team made it, only the last guy pulled us through to get second in our heat.

Equestrian jumping final was pretty funny. Someone managed to get a little faster time to win the bronze medal tiebreaker by jumping over the decoration instead of going around it. I laughed a little.

Yeah, I like to watch all the weird events.

Equestrian should not be an Olympic sport. It requires more on the performance of the horse rather than the physical ability of the human.
 
They should bring back dueling. Too bad they axed it in 1905.

Honestly I don't really care if they leave the gymnastics medals the way they are, and it's kinda silly to make a big deal about it after the fact. But China should have just followed the rules going into it. It's not like the rules were unclear or like they didn't know the consequences if they actually did use underage gymnasts. I'd feel bad for the older Chinese gymnasts in the team though if they had to lose medals. I also imagine it would be a little awkward for everyone else to get bumped up.
