Nope, that will stay. I'm on my trial account right now, except under a subscription, so don't worry about that.

Just to add a quick note of my own:

PlanetSide is seriously kicking BIG ass. The developers are really hard at work and are introducing new things, such as further increasing the BR cap to 23, which they will expand on as they see fit later on. They are also implementing a new Merit Commendation system, where on your armor, you will have the choice to display up to three medals/awards you have achieved through hard gameplay. Merits are awarded for many different things and at many different levels, so no one is left out. Earning merits will also bring along new skills/features that will be exclusive to those with certain awards. This gives even the most acclaimed veteran a reason to continue his fight on Auraxis!

If you're a former player, or entirely new, check this game out! You won't regret it!

Indeed. After creating my new account I promised myself I'd hook up with an outfit after I hit BR12, which I did yesterday, and I played with them for the entire day basically, taking one two-hour break.


Oh, if you're interested in the upcoming updates for the game, you should really read the official forums. Unlike most MMO forums, we discuss how to improve the game, and about three devs post regularly, commenting on ideas and posting news.

Im with the Vanu Corp, So much fun as there is a huge emphasise on teamplay and using teamspeak with them so we actually get alot done :thumbs:

Well, I'm on Emerald rolling with the Azure Twilight. We perform MAX crashes daily and we're forming an armor column....man, such a fun game.
 
So, I bought this game now plus the Core Expansion and decided to pay for it. To bad I had to cancel my subscription on EVE because I can't pay for two MMO games. :/

It's really fun and addictive, I'm currently at BR12 and got two implants (advanced targeting and something I can't remember what's it called).
And thanks Malfunction for bringing this game up again. :)

yay juts 20 hrs left to dl :(

I am a vet from the release days, I got rid of it because of the intolerable god forsaken lag at every turn. Excited to play again as the ideas were exellent :)

Ok do you need a credit card to pay? or could you use say paypal? I dont even want to bother if I cant pay for it to continue playing. And I would really hate to get a credit/debit card.

I'm glad some of you guys have started playing. I've gotten a lot farther than I have ever been in PS and I'm loving every minute of it.

I got myself a BFR and am working towards making the Advanced BFR Merit.

EDIT: Kommie, there are two methods of payment, credit card, and game card. A game card is a card you buy from Sony which has a CD-key on the back of it. There are 30-day ones, and I believe longer-lasting ones.

They do, but I am at college and they are a good long time away, And they think that since i am in college ALL I should do is study. so using theirs is a no-go. Where do I get gamecards?

CC? Credit Card? No it doesn't. He was just saying he doesn't feel like getting into a game so much when he might not be able to subscribe to it.

apparently best buy sells them you just have to do a search for planetside, not gamecard(why, I dont know). 44.35 for 90 days is it worth it?
So far I have done two training missions and I am getting really irate with this woman who doesn't ever shut up. I am pretty eager to get into the game though.

Well, it's $12.99 a month + tax, so yeah, pretty much the same price as if you stayed subscribed for three months.

Personally, I'd check out the 30-day card first to see if you like the game. Then you can get the 90-day one if you have to.

Frankly, I never did the offline training, but I can tell you I was really confused in the game when I first started, so maybe you're better off finishing the training before jumping into the game. But hey, it's your call. Enjoy the game!

The Forgotton Soldiers, the biggest outfit on Werner. They got like 512 members last time I checked. :)
 
I roll with the Azure Twilight on Emerald, 500+ members as well. About 40-70 are active though. Most are old vets from a while back.
 
That's a lot active members if compared to The Forgotton Soldiers where there are only about 12-16 active. One time it even weren't ONE single member online when I played.

Well, you have to understand that not all of those people play every day. In fact, most only play once or twice a week, but we have a lot of people who are on every day.
 
Well, I actually like when it's few members online instead of many as it can be rather chaotic sometimes.

I recently resubscribed to planetside and I'm having so much fun! Partly because im in the "666 Devil Dogs" the biggest outfit in planetside so they have really good coordinated attacks. I'm McFace on Markov.

Any issues of lag?
 
I have some fond memories of Planetside. Sadly, I had to quit because the monthly cost made sure I couldn't buy any games. Luckily, I now have a better paying job, so I may rejoin :)
 
I played this game a while once...it was ****ing terrible. The graphics were not impressive at all. The shoot outs were incredibly boring and uneventful. The damage was so ****ed up...it would take 2 clips and a rocket launcher to kill someone. It was just one big open desert with like small shit cities somewhere in there and it was just stupid. You didnt feel like your shooting or your in a big battle. It was extremely linear, I mean there werent even objects scattered everywhere to hide behind and add maybe just a little bit of strategy in the shootouts instead of whoever clicked and held first will win.

Stupid game...it almost mad me angry. Good thing I didnt buy it or pay for it. Games that make you pay monthly are not real games...its a pathetic marketing scheme. Its retarded and I would never contribute to such a thing no matter how good the game is.
 
Played for a good month or two, didnt hold my interest, as theres pretty well no overall goals, all the bases around the islands are pretty well the same, and when you take controll of a base you dont get any type of fansy reward short of some xp. Very little to do basicly. And like MilkMan said the dmg was abit messed up, and the landscapes where very, very boring.
 
Getting in an outfit is really key for this sucker, otherwise you will fill a bit detached from the action.

But it adds many layers of strategy that you can't find in many games.

No there haven't been issues of lag (at least for me) for at least the last year or so. About 6 months after release it was pretty good, although its much better now. If you get lag its usually video lag now.
 
I've recently re-subscribed with some friends of mine, and I've been loving it. This time I'm Malfy00 on Emerald, TR. I still love the game a bunch.

You'll only experience lag if you play on a server not close to you. For example, if I play on the Euro server, I get pretty crappy pings. The Western is playable, but occasionally I get lag spikes.
 
If Planetside wasn't boring I might try this, otherwise I'll have BF2

I laugh when people say taht and they haven't played WW2online-NOW THAT IS BORING!

But still fun in some odd way.

Takes 45min to get to battle, get killed in one shot from a ATG.

WW2O was awesome, if you were in a good clan you could own. And are you ****ing retarded? What did you do? Walk the 5 miles to the battle? Moron, it was a 5 minute ride at most, and then you can respawn inside the city.

I know you were exagerating, and so was I.
