Post a screenshot!

There is a 32bpp project in the works.

/edit I'm grabbing the latest nightly build of sprites (100MB or so) I'll take a few screens once it's all working.

This game is awesome. I was looking for something exactly like this with Railroad Tycoon 2. But that game had too much micromanagement and the financing system was too complicated for me. I'm really liking this.

Yeah, the original TTD(of which this is an open-source remake) was made by Chris Sawyer, same guy who made the RCT series, both the TT and RCT series are awesome in my opinion, though I admit never being all that good at the TT ones.

(I've got a missing texture or something for the sword.)

What do you guys think of something like this armor for the Shadow Knight? It would probably look better if I had an evil looking character. I was thinking of adding a big black (or coordinated) cape draped over the back (and it would use the shield slot, and boost attributes).

Also, is it Shadow Knight or Shadowknight?

I had a cool idea where I would add spell tomes for each class. For example, you might find a spell tome called "Life Tap" that, if you read it, would add a special life stealing spell to your spell list.

I saw a peek of that. It looks pretty good for what it is, but for me the original graphics are superior. They have the most charm.

The extra zoom levels would be neat though. I wish I could zoom in 2x with the default graphics and just have everything 2x scaled, I wouldn't mind. At my resolution things are quite small already.

Pain in the arse to get this working too. I wouldn't bother until or if it's all working on the main trunk builds.

That sign actually exists in the game? That's badass! I never would have found it.

I stumbled across it by accident. It is an entrance for the heliport of the Mile High Club. There is a faction mission for the Roaches there, which takes you to the MHC.

That grass looks amazing, Shaker.

Anyhow so I'm still working on the "Epic Items" mod for Oblivion.

Mages tend to use one handed weapons like daggers, one hand swords and maces, and they lose significant power to their spells if they have a shield (or any armor) equipped, I decided this would be the perfect item.

I decided to include something someone else made as a modder's resource. This will be a torch like item for casters.

The Blue Crystal Staff. It's like a magic torch that never burns out and it also works underwater.

This was my first try on the color of the casted light and so I'll make it brighter, but anyway, this is a great addition and matches the look quite well.

Another great thing is that there are only 8 spells that can be set to the hotkeys at a time, and one of them (for me anyway) is light. 8 spells really is barely enough for mages, especially if you have light in one of them, that only leaves you with 7. Then you consider fire, frost, and shock, restoration, etc. So this will free up one spell slot.

Also, I decided I enjoy finding chance drop rare items more than questing for them. So I decided that all of these Epic armor sets and weapons and clothing will be rare drops or found in chests, but only if you are a high enough level. They will be added to the highest loot tables. So, it could take considerable time to complete any one set, since there will be quite a few sets. You might find one piece every 8 hours of play, give or take.

EDIT:

Just testing the Mage set...
and it plays and feels so much more like a caster should. I don't have to sneak around like a thief, I don't have to be suited up in armor. I'm running through caves "free balling" if you will, parrying with my short-sword, paralyzing fools and summoning creatures to help me, casting powerful elemental spells. Really fun.

The crystal staff is really quite cool. I discovered that you can still use a shield if you want - when you draw your weapon, the staff is automatically put away to don the shield.

Still, it's better to play the role and be unarmored for the full effect of your spells. For example, a spell that says "works on enemies up to level 25" won't actually work on enemies up to level 25 if you have armor equipped.

Not only that, but if you don't have armor equipped, a "level 25" spell it will actually work on any level enemy, even level 50.

The vanilla game characters always ended up the same. Good at everything, great at nothing. So these epic sets will really commit towards one play style or another and differentiate the classes.

Lucky Money club in Hong Kong.

My favourite mech-augmented character in Deus Ex: Jordan Shea. There's something attractive about those arms.

Funny situation in the Ocean Lab. The MiB then threw a LAM and turned the room into the equivalent of a man-blender.

By far the best conversation in Deus Ex.

God was a dream of good government

The Omar. My favourite faction in DX2 style-wise.

Hunters in action.

The best character in C&C4: Agent Duquette

Depthscraper in New Adana.

Leviathan battle station. Biggest annoyance in MP, if you ask me.

Couple of EVE shots, with some large and small and absolutely huge ships.

Though the small ships are actually invisible at this distance. Those are all BIG.

DEUS EX SHOTS

Goddamn you make me wanna play Deus Ex again. Im so pissed off, I uninstalled Steam a while back only to find out my Deus Ex saves were kept in the directory (ALL my saves from other games were not kept there).

That lost me about 20 hours of gameplay (was in Paris as I recall), and I'm having trouble finding the motivation to start all over again.

Defcon. It's on Steam. Not fun alone but with six people it's a blast. Locked teams are for losers.

F yeah, I only played it a lot at release-week, sadly got bored of it quite quickly, but we never did locked teams.

It was so fun when it was me, my ally and one enemy left, then just as the enemy got obliterated I left the alliance and absolutely owned my former ally as well! Backstabbing is fun!

My awesome junction/station. It's both a RoRo and Terminus, depending on which side you come from.

Rails on the right lead to the ore mine and another farm, on the left leads to the factory.

Late reply to Virus. I somehow overlooked your post on the Shadow Knight armor, it looks so incredibly awesome! I want it. :)

Recently played through the first No One Lives Forever, man this game was amazing!

Thanks, Q. It's good to get feedback because I only have 1 opinion to go on. (Mine)

I can't really take any credit for the SK armor, I just recolored the Dragon Legion armor (that you can get when you beat the game). There was no female version by default though, so now there is. Anyway, I may eventually change the details (design on the armor) somewhat.

Just - Holy shit. Wait until you see the Necromancer's gear. (I don't want to spoil it) It's fun as hell to use too. In testing, it's my favorite class now by far.

Looks like there will be 3 light armor sets of epic gear, 3 heavy, and 3 unarmored sets, each with at least 2 weapons. I may make 2 unique spells for each class as well.

EDIT: also I made some mage gloves. It seems kinda silly that the only way to get any (non armor class) bracers or gloves for the mages is to enchant the wrist irons, so ...

Anyway, when I finish with everything I'll upload it and let you know.

A hood to go with the cape for Shadow Knight would be awesome.

Garry's mod project I'm working on. Whether it turns out any good, iono?

And here Vegeta mocked me! This is me learning how to macro manage road vehicles in Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe. over 150 vehicles, all neatly grouped with shared orders and everything. None of it was planned... just gradually expanded as I earned money and tried to remedy traffic situations and learn how the road vehicles work.

Tons of fun! **** YOUR TRAINS VEGETA!

With the huge supply of trucks I'm dealing with, the line behind gets choked up quickly. When I realized I could link stations, that was a life saver for me. In past games I was just using separate single stations and it was a nightmare to manage.

From everything I learned in this latest match with only myself in it... I'll be able to make nice looking factory loading bays instead of the haphazardly scattered ones I have right now... and my roads will be nicer too.

That being said... I'll read the link Kyorisu... haven't seen that wiki part yet. Thanks!

EDIT: Those are some sexy looking station designs. I'll have to try those some time, or make my own. Certainly way better than my hastily placed ones to accommodate my traffic as I was learning how things work.

Christ, that game looks complicated.
But then I never really could play Sim City type games, far too many things to keep in check.

It really is much simpler than Sim City as far as things to keep in check. You can also pretty much go at your own pace, and it's very hard to lose money (unless you make a series of large mistakes in a row, which has never happened to me)

When I first got the game, after looking at Kyo's screenshot with huge stations, I thought I'd never be really good at the game. But now I'm getting quite good at it, after only about 8 two to four hour games, and some reading on the wiki and other places.

I'd like to say, that Oblivion, dated that it is, still stuns me with some wilderness areas.
It's beautiful if you take out all of the plastic wrap people and the numerous vicious rabbits.

Morrowind has the same effect. It doesn't clash with the intensive shadows on the environment and the lack of it on players.

I'll definitely give it a whirl then.

After I find some time to learn it atleast.

I remember playing TTD back in the day, good fun.

I highly recommend doing the tutorial on their wiki. It was enough to get me started and I pretty much learned everything else through playing on my own, except for track signals which I had to do a bit of reading and experimenting to fully grasp.

It's all fun and games until you have to build dual cyclotrons to stop blocking ML traffic. Okay it's a one lane ML and two lanes would fix it but meh.

What the shit, do maglev bridges really look like that? Just 2 ramps? I also don't understand pretty much anything about what that design is all about.

I have bridges invisible they all look like that. Under the gear check out transparency options or press x to toggle everything on/off. You can have them transparent or completely disable them so nothing blocks your view.

I tried to play it today but was utterly bewildered by just about everything. They don't seem to have a tutorial of any kind that I can find.

This series of three videos helped me a bit with signals. It didn't do path signals, but it got me started off with block signals.

I too was bewildered and I still suck... but I'm still trying to push my way through and get good. Vegeta is shit tons better than me... but I think that's only because he goes for coal first, instead of oil like my dumb ass. Oh, and he builds better train networks than me.

I also recommend learning the hotkeys. They're a life saver.
