Post a screenshot!

They actually say that. It's happened to me before.

After getting the best equipment in the game already, I decided there should be more. More things to find. I wanted there to be epic weapons, armor, and apparel to find. I decided to make a full set of apparel/armor for the 3 main paths: Combat, Stealth, and Magic. In fact, I'll try to make two sets of unique gear for each path.

I plan to make this gear extremely difficult to get unless you are very powerful. You should have to find a rare drop of a special key to get to a special dungeon with powerful wizards and giant enemy crabs.

Anyone who played Oblivion knows they didn't really do much in the means of enchanted robes. In fact, I don't think there is any good ones in the entire game. You could get to level 50 and never have found one at all.

Anyway, so I have begun work on this. So far, I started with the one I wanted the most: a mage's robe. This uses the Apostle robe from Shivering isles, but they didn't make a hood so I modified the necromancer hood's mesh to create one.

These are preliminary stats, but I've put a lot of thought into them. As you can see, they are a bit better than the best gear in the game, with several smaller bonus advantages. And since I wanted useful gear for people who have max stats and skills, I wanted to only boost stats and skills and other features that are actually useful past their limits. (Greater than 100)

Well anyway, here's a few pictures of it. As much as I like the way it looks, I want it to be totally unique, so I'll probably change the hue and some other things.

I want to make some kind of orb to hold in your off-hand to be used with a 1 hand weapon. The orb will probably have icy smoke coming from it. I'll make a special staff, sword, and mace to go with this, for those that prefer those items.

I still need to make a matching icon. Anyway, so those are the stats. Keep in mind that this robe uses 3 of 5 clothing slots. Body, legs, and hands. So, I still need to make the shoes. Remember that your magic is more effective if you aren't wearing armor.

I originally made this robe have a 'dry ice' kind of smoke effect, but couldn't get it to work without actually harming your character. I tried using a heal over time effect to offset it, but unfortunately, the smoke (particle) effect won't work unless you are actually taking damage. I'm nearly positive I can get it to work with the weapon or off-hand item, however.

Nice work, you're making me want to play Oblivion again! Be sure to make your custom staff look epic :)

I've been pondering replaying Oblivion on my 360 for achievements, but I cba to bother with efficient leveling, but I guess I can just lower the difficulty slider if things get annoying.

One thing I learned, is that it would be a lot easier to do efficient leveling if you go with only two attributes x5, instead of three. Then you put the 3rd selection on Luck every time.

I didn't realize how useful luck is. It factors into all skills except athletics and acrobatics if they are less than 100 (maxed), but one thing I didn't realize is that Luck lowers the magic cost of spells.

I found out recently, and so I did a test by equipping an item that increases luck by 10. It reduced one of my spells from costing 110 magic points to 90. So consider all of your spells being cheaper to cast.

Enhancements to stats can go all the way up to 255. The max is 100, but you can go above 100 by equipping items, or fortifying them. For example, a ring I found, the Ring of Perfection, increases all stats by 10, even above 100.

Anyway, so if you put one point on luck every time, you can still max the rest of your stats, it will just take you more leveling to get there. The only time you won't be able to level up anymore is if all your stats are maxed.

However, if you max the rest of your stats first and then start putting points on luck every time, you won't be able to max luck by the time you reach level 50 (the max)

Hmm, having to only bother with 'efficient' leveling for two attributes at a time would make it less game-breaking to level up efficiently indeed, thanks for the tip.

And regardless, if stuff get annoying I'll just lower the difficulty slider, afterall, if you lower it to 0%, the game is 36 times easier than normal.

No problem.

Another way to get a great jump is by selecting luck as one of your 2 favored attributes during character creation. You get 5 points to luck (I believe), which is equivalent to 5 levels up, since you can only increase luck by 1 per level. Luck is also a great attribute to have early in the game.

The second favored attribute should be endurance, since your Health increases every time you level up based on your endurance. Health is not retroactively increased, so you want to get your endurance to max as fast as possible for the largest health pool.

OK, I'm going to get back to work. I'm working on one of the epic Stealth armor sets and the mage's weapons.

Aika is a free online MMO similar to Aion with regards to PvP but this has 1000 vs 1000 battles!

just started as a dual gunner

with it being free this game looks damn good!

MMO e-fantasy game. I like how the hud reminds you what game you're playing. Not to mention the amazing armor your char is wearing...

lolyeah

"Let's protect my shins and kneecaps with steel armor, but I'd rather not protect my more vital organs."

Got kneecaps so it's more comfortable for her to be on all fours while I .... Yeah.

tbh i took off her clothes for that shot. its more fun to run around half naked

So, the elven armor retexture I made recently, I decided to use it for the basis for one of the epic Stealth armor set. And I'm calling it "Elven Lord" armor. Being that 'glass' was previously the best light armor in the game and I didn't like the way it looked, and elven was my favorite, it was an easy decision.

Some pictures (I've been playing around with the particle effects recently, if you're wondering. That's the paralyze effect)
No icons yet.

Actually, I was thinking of re-making the helmet of a chainmail design, with gold trim.

I have to say, the two hand "Elven Lord's" claymore is a blast. It has enchantments that encourage you to keep hacking and to block if necessary by temporarily absorbing (taking it from them and giving it to you) the victim's agility and block skill, and it slowly disintegrates their armor with every hit. So you really knock them back a lot and weaken their defenses, which gives you some free hits, and it makes blocking with the sword more effective.

There is also an enchanted Elven Lord Bow that I need to put in there. I might make it cause stunted magicka and damage their speed with every hit.

EDIT: helm will look like this, but with gold trim :http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source...f&aqi=g3&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=bcdf8cbbf06dc4f

BTW, here is a comparison with the Elven and 'Elven Lord' armors:

As you can see it's just a slightly different color and model. Still think the new one looks much better. A little tighter around the waist and stronger legs. :D Also I've got a really cool sword idea for this set. Really ornate. I'll show you later.

Anyway, what do you think about like a barbarian armor/weapons set? Something really scruffy like this:

Would be really fast and agile, with a lot of fatigue.. or something.

Actually, before I do that, I'm going to make a complete Shadowknight set. That's one of my favorite classes but they didn't include it in the game by default. The weapons will steal life on strike, and stuff. Sort of a mid Armor class with strong restoration. Actually, there's a couple spear mods (to include spears in the game) that might go well with that.

*Sigh*. Puberty. The bane of computer games.

btw nice work VT2, but wish somebody would put that much effort into making the AI... intelligent.

It didn't look that good in the first place. Heh, it's amusing to read the sycophant magazine reviews now.

Eh, graphics arent the reason I go back and play Oblivion anyways...

Just spruce it up with some graphics mods and its fine.

Man Oblivion looks terrible. Where are the shadows?

Only the character casts a shadow, and its a bad one at that.

Also, VT2 thats more of a texture tweak than a retexture. All you really did was mess with contrast and hues a bit. The texture is the same really.

Yes, those things. Yes, you're right. Though I did say "it's just a slightly different color". I do touch up some textures and normals, just not in this case, not yet.

And yea, I sacrificed real-time shadows. When I am in a fight with a large group, I want the framerate to stay smooth. Old video card. The shadows are a bitch for older cards.

Thanks. Actually that's what I've been putting some thought into for a long time. I've got a plan. Won't be able to fix retardation, but I can make them more challenging in battle. Like strafing instead of face-planting fireballs.

Indeed, perhaps if I get around to it I'll post some Oblivion screenshots of my own.

We need to all chip in and buy Virus a new game. Playing Oblivion for so long is not good.

I made a new enemy. It's a zombie that is on fire. 'Burning Zombie'

Rest in peace, bugger.

I made this in 2007ish, complete with a full set of sound effects. You can hear the fire crackling when you get into range.

Unfortunately, there were some problems with the editor and I was unable to complete it due to a modeler bug.

Now I recently came across my old oblivion install and recovered all the assets from the Burning Zombie. The .esp was no longer working; I'm not sure why, anyway, I had to create the esp over again. And so that's what I did last night.

In terms of overall 'strength', he's very similar to the dread zombie but with unique qualities. A little more frantic (a little faster and attacks more) but on the other hand stumbles around a little, does not have heal over time, and has slightly less health. He's immune to fire attacks, but susceptible to frost attacks. If you attack him physically, you will get burnt, doing a little damage to yourself.

I used a clone brush to grab and duplicate the crispy flesh [from a corpse that you occasionally come across in the game].

I'd like to take it a step further and add light from the fire. I tried but haven't been successful so far. However, I know the wisp casts light when it attacks, so it may be possible. I'd also like to add some smoke, and possibly a screaming sound - like you might do if you were on fire. Nothing obnoxious, but just - you know...

I played around with different configurations of his body a little but I think this is the better choice. He replaces 25% of the 'Headless Zombie'.

What's next. Ideas?

A couple of screenshots from SI.

Hey, it looks like Fallout 3...

oh wai-

Ohh totally forgot about Fallout 3. I think I'm going to have to get that game next. I love messing with mod tools.

It's a shame Fallout 3's modding community is full of nude models, and sex mods.

Game started 10:30AM yesterday it's now 6:30AM. Been winning pretty much the whole time, my main rival dropped out after his team mate broke his train network a few hours ago.

Risk online? I want to play.

Is it free? Whats the web address? Can you choose your opponent - for example, would I be able to play you?

Found this one, but it's not the same: http://www.gamehouse.com/online-games/risk-online

Doesn't look like one of these either: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/five-places-to-play-risk-online/

It's on pogo. You need to register, and yeah, you can play with friends.

http://www.pogo.com/games/risk

There are some useless features you can get if you're a 'subscriber' but they don't really matter much.

Oh man, OpenTTD is out? I heard about it but hell. I'm in.

This game is awesome. I was looking for something exactly like this with Railroad Tycoon 2. But that game had too much micromanagement and the financing system was too complicated for me. I'm really liking this.
