Post your Spore creatures here!

So I got the creature creator and got to play around with it enough to make one monster. But how do you make it so there's a bunch of babies following it?

Click through the options, explore and experiment.

My own attempt at ruining the internet just a little more:

I call it the SixtyNine.

Y'know what's unfortunate?
None of your penis/sex position creatures are going to survive in the wild when the game releases. :p

Why not? The penis could be used as a weapon to fend off predators.

Wait, wtf, how did you get a flying creature? >< I had guys with wings who couldn't even fly!

Give your creature legs, then remove their feet. They'll animate like they have no legs, but their feetless legs will dangle to the ground. I have another creature with wings and dangling legs, and it's a neat effect.

Also, if you want to give limbs more joints, you can attach limbs to other limbs by the joints by holding ctrl.

I was like :D until I realised it's mouth was made of eyes. D:

Here's my first creature ever!

How does he look? I spent hours crafting him to perfection... exploring the different options and ways to do things. I went through many many iterations, and this is what I finally came up with!

I call him Shartug! He's a cute little beast isn't he?

And I have a youtube video too!

here's mine(copied from another forum, so some of the info you guys already know)

ok so here's my babies:

here's my ant-eater thingie...unfortunately in the trial you can't attach laser-canons to your creatures, which was the original intent based on a sketch I did once.(I sure hope you can in the full version)

next up is this fugly thing...I really like how the colour scheme turned out and the creature is pretty neat. unfortunately you can't do hovering/levitating/flying creatures... they need to have legs...well this one doesn't and it sorta looks like it's flying but really it's doing the worm on the ground.

next up is the wackiest shit...I'm actually not too fond of this one it's pretty random, with no real concept going into it beyond the big eye and using the "grass" for eye-lashes.

next up we got the evo-fish. fish with legs how clever huh? originally I didn't want legs...unfortunately the worming messed up the tail bit for some reason...and now it got legs.

next up random crap on a stick...main concept was basically the eye arrangement and suction-cup single foot...beyond that it's random...I ruined it by adding arms I think:

next up is the "famous" Brasshorsekiller green thingie...I had trouble getting the legs right but I think most people that have seen the original concept will recognize it.

the next one is one of my favourites as far as looks goes...unfortunately in motion this guy walks like a retard for some reason...I need to fix his legs or something:

next up, me doing Halflife 2 creatures...here's the antlion-guardian, I put an extra "i" in there because it doesn't look to close to the original at all. I hope the fix up the painting part of the game...I couldn't the the feather-antennas blue without having the brown around the arms being blue aswell:

oh btw I did these from memory it's been a while since I played hl2.

Awesome stuff dude! I love the anteater.

So even though you can make hovering creatures in the creator, they won't work in the game? :(

Also,
Awwwww.jpg

Isn't he ADORABLE?

But my game ate him before I even had a chance to paint him!

Well he is, I sure as hell wouldn't want to see him next to me when I wake up drunk.

I actually thought the footless leg thing was a bug, not a feature, considering it makes your creature float.

I also thought it underlaid one of my major disappointments with the creature editor: your creatures move the same speed no matter how they look.

In earlier versions of spore, the legs and walking were physically modeled to propel your creature forward. Now, your creature moves at the same speed regardless of its legs, even if it has no legs or is floating in the air. The legs just move at the appropriate speed to give the creature the illusion of motion.

This is a huge disappointment to me, because it will make modding in darwinian features next to impossible.

Yeah, I am actually a little disappointed.

For one, clipping issues out the ass.
I could've sworn that they said that the editor would make it so the game would try to work around clipping errors as much as possible.

Movement basically all looks the same, before if a creature was top heavy they'd move with a weird sway that made it look like it was about to topple over.
Not so anymore.

They really really simplified it way too much.

I'm still buying it though.

If you check the creature attributes, however, you increase the 'speed' ability of the creature by adding more/faster legs. It's a shame the procedural animation doesn't change much, but it does still suggest that number/type of legs will make a gameplay difference.

Edit: On closer inspection the speed seems to always stop at 5... There are differences before that, but it seems to be that the only way to be slower than 5 is to have just 1 leg. Hmm....

Found this out the earlier, double click and hold to tell your creature to run.

The walking and animations in general were pretty disappointing. The walking is way to fast/stilted and some of the attacking animations etc are pretty lame.

You seem to only be able to hit with arms, not kick with legs. I hope that's because this is the limited editor.

To be honest, I think Spore would be more awesome when it comes to movement animations etc if it perhaps integrated euphoria.

And no I don't think it is Shakermaker, comparing the E3 '05 gameplay videos with the E3 '06, you can see gameplay seems to have changed alot, from it looking like all animation is generated on the fly, attacks etc all seem to be pre-scripted animations.
