principle good sir DIS, they lied... bad business and rep.

they are professionals, they need to take how their clients feel in to consideration. i guess i'll have to just wait now... building up more hope for more empty promises.

As with the first preload date, I'm imagining some Valve employee sitting by a big jolly, red, candy-like button waiting to press it at 11:59:59.

Preach it brother! I often wonder at what point last year they realized that they weren't going to hit the sept. 30 release.

Imagine for a moment that George Lucas pulled a VALVe. It's a couple of weeks before episode III is slated to come out and Lucas recently stated that everything was on schedule and then all of a sudden he came out with some lame shit like,"we're bad at planning timetables." And then the movie didn't come out for another frigging year. There's no way that it would be acceptable, but in VALVe's world everything's all good.

This I will agree with.

As much as I like to stick up for Valve and hope for the best, they did state it was ready last week. Not sure what else can be said after that.

A few more hours to go, though.

WTF happen to the preload huh cliffe?
 
Altogether, the preload isn't such a big deal. It's missing a clearly and factually announced preload date that's a big deal. I don't have a single thing against Valve, but it'd sure be nice if they met a release date, once.
 
its been posted on the valve cs source beta forum, so i guess its a beta update. ;(
 
didn't valve employees used to post here... that would be cool, if gabe told us it's coming.
 
I dont know does Cliffe usually post update threads on the steampowered forum ? Does he do this all the time ?

well, if anyone's pissed and wants to bitch at Gabe I've got his "supposed" number. I've never called itso I don't know if it's really it, but it's actually very easy to find on the internet.
 
you know this may sound strange, but id love to get into a business where gabe or someone at valve had to rely on me for some service, and then when they ask when its going to happen ill say.

i'm feeling a little hope, cliffe from valve said it's still on for tonight and more news to come... so... i'll give him until 11:30, then i will get back to my hw.

Who knows. They dont have a HL2 forum. Imagine Aztec AND the gold announcement in the same night....
 
CS:S beta update released
An update to the Counter-Strike: Source beta has just been released. Steam will update itself automatically when you restart. Here is a list of the changes:



COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE BETA CHANGES / ADDITIONS:
Fixed players being able to trigger a screen shake on other players
Fixed Shift-F1 debug panel being accessible when cheats are disabled
Fixed server browser not being displayed
Improved refresh rate selection behavior

The thing is if you did it to them they just fire you/stop using your services and use someone else - but it is funny to think about.

fine... what ever, lame ass preload... this really bites tho, i mean i know the preload isn't very important and all, but it's just rediculous... honestly.
