PreLoad Delayed

GABE: GUYS I SWEAR the texture we updated for CS:S WAS HUGE, it might take a year... yeah, sorry, peace.

You know, I dont care if its delayed, I dont care if it takes another two weeks, but for god sake tell us that ! dont just say "this will now take place on monday, shoulda been today but css update blah blah", and then go completely quiet.

You know, I'm not even getting the preload. In fact, I'm not sure I can even get the game, so I'm pretty neutral about this all. That said, for Valves sake I wish they'd hit a date once. This isn't helping their cause much. *shrug*

BULL F**KING SHITE. I have to vent. I honestly don't get this mad often but GIVE ME A BREAK.

I have waited over a year through multiple DELAYS just to sit here and wait while CSs GET's updates. I DIDN't BUY CScz Because it's a friggen overrated PATCH. I didn't buy a 9800 because I can't afford to buy the top of the line video cards just for a HL2 voucher.

I don't want to sit around and get manipulated by this company that keeps toying with our emotions. YES we understand that you have a great game. We want to buy it from you. We like what you do but that doesn't mean you can F-ing delay every solid or semi-solid date you SET!

AARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH My brain is gonna EEEEEeeeeexplode!
sorry for not waiting for tuesday. I am angry now.

I ranted but don't you guys feel the same way?

I feel the same way, to a degree. I'm not pleased with valve right now, but I'll give it a week of more delays before my "brain explodes".

Now, I know it's just a pre-load but it symbolises progress. It shows us that after a year, valve actually did something and not just create videos and binks. I'm dissapointed but I'll still beleive any date they give for at least a week :hmph:

I believe this is the perfect excuse for them to delay the game for a year. :rolling:
I swear to god if they delay the game again I will cancel my HL2 preorder and use that money to buy an extra copy of Doom 3 out of spite. That, or buy a game from another rival developer that can keep a date...

I checked steam one more time and.................................................................................................................................................................................
..................................................................

.......nope. :sniper: Valve

Still more than 3 and a half hours left until it can be trully labelled as delayed and not on time.

On that note, imagine what it would be like if Valve was on the stock market. Every time they couldn't keep a date their stock would drop.

that would be the "clown" stock only for the rich people.

It turns out I have an extra brain in my ass but it's alot meaner. I will think of something witty to say on tuesday.

Why?
It's just a preload. You can't play the game.

Valve, delay HL2 past September and I'm gonna put my money towards Will Wright's next Porsche (or whatever the hell he wants to drive). Any delay more than a year long can't say much for a company's organizational skills, whether they got hacked or didn't get hacked.

I think people are more pissed about the missed dates. Why don't they just adopt a "when its done" policy from the beginning. They say this, they say that, and in the end people don't like being taken for a roller coaster ride of bull sh*t.

I was close to thinking this game was close to it's release, I now feel this game is no where near being completed. They either dont read forums or dont care-but for the last year, from the leak, to the delays, to recent events like the script and pre-load delays, they've looked very unorganized and have been very un-professional.

We pay their bills and put food on their tables....they are nothing without us, because we buy the games, making it possible for them to continue as a company and the way they treat the community that supports them is inexcusable. They've either grown careless, or huge ego's-either way, it will hurt them in the end. The older the engine gets, the more "eye-candy freaks" will pass this game up for something that actually ships and looks better, the longer the game takes, the more time is given to a company like THQ to push out stalker, providing possibly, an even better story and experience for those looking for games in that aspect. Valve seems to feel the world is frozen waiting for HL2, but in reality, gamers will jump ship to something that's just as fun to play and more important, has a reliable company behind the game working with the community, rather than spitting out lies and delays.

Yes, this was a pre-load...a few folders containing files that will basically sit on the HD. Unplayble. But it's the principal. You give a date, stick with it, or dont give one at all. This is the 3rd delay for this pre-load. And yet another stain on the wall for Valve. I hope they realize they cant sell an engine to developers if they dont plan on pushing this game out to meet contractual agreements. Vampires: Masqarede has been ready for roughly 6 months, but it has to wait for this game to ship first. Will an industry really develop for such an unreliable source. (Pun intended)

Since you still don't get it, let me make it clear. Valve has delayed a simple pre-load 3 times in a row, with increasingly lame excuses.

Valve was adament about the September 30th release date even less than 2 weeks to said date. Then it was delayed, partly because of the hack, and partly because it was not complete, even though we were lead to believe that.

Connect the dots.
