Questions Thread

Thanks guys, I'll give it a go. Just annoying that you're told the arrow is designed to kill in one blow.

It did for me, so it might be a bug.

D:

Oh well, if the arrow continues to fail, I'll just punch him in the nuts 'til he passes out.

I've just got this game and have a few questions to ask.

1. I've noticed that there's loads of items you can find but most seems to be junk (skulls, bones, cups, paintbrushes etc). Does any of this have any use of is it just useless junk that I might as well just through away?

2. Near the start of the game where I cured some towns people from invisiblity I had a dream and contracted Vampirism. I was on a quest to find a cure but decided to as a Vampire for a bit longer. I'd thought it give me an advantage but it doesn't seem to have. I'm at the point now where I can't go out in the sun and some people won't talk to me. Is it worth staying as a Vampire or should I just get the cure? I've also been offered to join the Dark Brotherhood so it might be an advantage but I don't know.

3. Since I got so many items, I want to try and get rid off most of them. However, merchants buy stuff for crappy prices, don't haggle much or don't have enough gold. Is there anywhere that offers good prices?

1. no get rid of it, most of that crap is worthless

2. Join the Dark Brotherhood ..some of the best quests in the game.

3. you have to look around ..imperial city probably has the most stores. Also haggling at low levels isnt that effective ..sell one item at a time to boost your mercantile skill ..that will make haggling easier

you know you can suck the blood of sleeping people, to make others talk to you, right?

Why did I brake into a guy's house, have his dogs bark at me and then witness the owner run downstairs with a knife and start stabing he's dogs instead of me? :|

Don't join DB too early, go at 25 and 30. They have the best stuff so obviously the best perks come then.

He was sick of their damn barking. He told them 13 times to stfu!!

Here is a question. I heard it sucks being a vampire. Does it really?

It depends on your playing style. I personally hate it. It makes you look ugly as sin and you cant go outside without sucking on people's blood.

And if you get sick of being a vampire, it takes forever to get the quest completed and there's a bug that messes up part of the main quest.

Ja, tis true. I mean you get great powers but you can't go outside except at night, and you keep having to find people to eat, and the cure quest takes years, and people always hate you...

My charecter looked cool as ice when he first became a vamp.
But when i later reloaded after exiting, he completely changed. He looked like a total pussy. So i loaded back before becomeing a vampire.

Thanks stern.

I'm still a Vampire as I haven't yet found the cure. However, I seem to have gone done to 25 Vamparism from 100. It seemed to have happened once I stated feeding again. As a result I lost most of my powers which is annoying. :| Think I just got get the cure now however long it takes.

I have another question now.

I now own a number of enchanted weapons which soon run out of power and need to be recharged. I've only been able to recharge them with various soul stones and this other expensive stone I found. I have loads of soul stones that seem to have no soul. Can you somehow put a soul into them or something like that or should I just sell them sinse they have no use to me?

You need a soul trap spell/scroll or a weapon with a soul trap enchantment.

Does anyone experience a bug of the Bruma Akivari Draconian Madstone quest? I have it, but the dialogue branch to give it to her says I still need to get it! Grr.

I got that to, he ended up chasing his dogs out of the house, and his missus was not there, so I looted the whole lot. :)

I have another question.

Ages ago I got a sheild that's just called "Broken Sheild" next to some dead bloke. It seems to be a quest item so I can't drop it. What am I suppose to do with it? The emblem on it looks liked it was from the Fighters Guild but I still haven't had any luck.

Can I change my hair on an already started character? And if so, how?

Bring up the console and type in 'showracemenu'. You'll be able to change your character and carry on.

Talk to the Dark Elf in the Fighters Guild hall at Chorrol and give it to him.

I have a question: Why would I bother closing the Oblivion Gates? I've come across a couple of them in the wild, and people keep telling me how boring it is to close them... But why bother? They will be closed when you finish the main quest anyway...

Whenever I see one, I just ignore it, and keep on with business.

Some of the alchemy ingredients that are in the Oblivion portals are quite rare and sell for a nice sum of money; they can help improve some potions.

The same goes for weapons and armour.... not to mention the copious spell scrolls that can be found along with random potions/gems/gold.

And of course, the Sigil stones. Simplest way to enchant an item. :)

Not worth the trouble, by the sound of it ;)

Well, that's fair enough. But battling through the Oblivion gates is a good way to train your skills, either major or minor.
