what can i say brother? i'm a nut for IW :cheese:

COD4's multiplayer deserves every ounce of praise it gets, it kept me hooked to it for months since I got it for Christmas... I only just started getting a little bored with it last week.

Battlefield 2 - Forgotten Hope 2 - 9/10...
Sweet Jesus, I can't believe I wrote this mod off before... it's fantastic.
It's basically Project Reality for WW2 but so so much better.
The production quality is incredible, there's no detail left untouched.
If you have BF2, get this mod.

FH2 home page.
It's just the African theatre right now, but they're moving on to Normandy soon. :D

And I'm sure you see all of Valves games to deserve a 10 even with a thousand 5 year olds, lack of updates, and almost no re-playability

Most Valve games besides HL series and a few others suck ass. The main reason HL2 is so good is because of the story/story telling.

Plus when it was released the Grav Gun was like revolutionary, as most games didn't associate with their own physics engines back then.

What games have valve done besides the HL series? I mean, themselves, not like counter strike.

I dunno, I thought people loved Valve not just because of HL2.. I've never heard of any of their (apparently non-existent) other games, so I assumed they (if they existed) were shit. Guess I was wrong.

And Samon - stfu, your stupid so who cares what you think. HL2 has good story and good developed characters, and if you disagree I DON'T CARE. And why did you make my quote say golod?

TF2?

I played the Red Alert 3 beta (still playing) and its great, 9\10.
Just a few balance issues fixed and it will be 10\10.

Samon agrees the story is good but I believe he values Valve's taste for delicious gameplay experience more than it. I think is what he's saying anyway, you never quite know :p

Valve's first game was Half-Life. Aside from the HL series there has been TFC, TF2, Portal, CS, CS:S, DOD, DOD:S, Ricochet, HL2DM, and HLDM. As well as Lost Coast, HLDM on Source, and HL:S if you want to count those. Coming up is Ep3, Portal 2, and Left 4 Dead.

All of those are really good games. You could say some things about Ricochet maybe but it's a tiny tiny mod. Out of Valve's production history are probably at least 3 out of my top five favorite games ever, and 6 or 7 out of top 10.

lol. First off, I care what Samon thinks, so suck on that. Secondly, he wasnt disagreeing that HL2 has a good story and well developed characters, I know he thinks the same. He was saying that it wasnt the MAIN reason why the game is good. And when he edited your quote to say only the part he was responding too, he probably hit the L key on accident while his cursor was in the middle of the word "good"

And Ennui, you cant really say that Day of Defeat and Counter Strike were made by valve, because they were just mods that valve bought. The Source versions were made by valve though (after hiring the mod's creators).

Almost what I was saying - I hold both in high regard (story and gameplay - no one outweighs the other).

Uh huh.

Resistance: Fall of Man - 9/10

Picked it up for ?15 after becoming pretty excited by Resistance 2 footage and have been more than pleasantly surprised. The game just feels right. Usually I'm not a fan of dual analogue controls but Insomniac have totally nailed it, which is surprising considering their pedigree. There's a very subtle lock-on that you barely notice, but helps curb frustration in trying to chase an enemy with your right stick. The star of the game though is the guns. Usually in an FPS you have "the best gun", and lower level firearms become obsolete. Resistance has no pistol, just lots of totally bad-ass weapons, some you're used to, some totally unique. There's a sniper rifle which slows down time for perfect headshots, a ricocheting rail gun that can assemble an auto-turret, a laser rifle that can home shots and another that blasts straight through cover. You'll find yourself using every gun in your arsenal regularly, making you play creatively with you feeling powerful but not overpowered. And just to spoil you there's also 3 grenades: the classic frag, the hedgehog nail grenade and the third releases gas into an area before igniting it for crispy results. I booted up the game expecting a serious Gears of War type affair and have discovered the most outright fun I've had from an FPS since Episode Two.

Yeah, but Valve still was listed as the developer for those games in retail, and I would say they are Valve games now, not mods, especially since the mod devs got hired to Valve.

Bad spelling does not make someone stupid, and to suggest so is a little narrow minded, Dyslexia isn't something people should take the piss over.
Then again, maybe it was just a mis-type on his part.

Shadowgrounds Survivor - 6/10

I really wanted to enjoy this but I had a lot of trouble getting over the poor mission structures and some ropey graphics, which is a shame because sometimes it surprises
you by being genuinely quite good but then shoots itself in the foot by dipping back into mediocrity.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - 8.5/10

Thoroughly enjoyable(If frustrating at times, but i played on the hard difficulty as I heard the game is rather short and didn't want it to be over too quickly) with a charming storyline and characters.

The twist towards the end came at the perfect time too as at times the game's gunplay could get tedious(generally because I hide to reload after dieing on Hard so much at certain points) but is ultimately satisfying. The game is just perfectly paced tbh with the right blend of platforming/puzzles and shooting

Furthermore it has to be one of the, if not the best looking console game to date. The A.I, also, was surprisingly good. They would actively try to flank you and flush you out of hiding. You never felt 'safe' in one spot. The A.I kept you on your toes without doubt.

Special mention to the game's extras too. Looking forward to more in the series.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
- 9/10

Completed it a few weeks ago, twice infact. The second time I appreciated the story more without doubt. There were definately some facepalm and cringeworthy stuff in the story particularly involving Otacon and Naomi. One thing though that struck me about all this(and perhaps what Koj intended) is the way in which we view Snake in these melodramatic scenes. All Snake is focused on is 'righting' his 'wrongs', the mission so to speak. He is just such a great character.

Some of the characters are very impressive. Meryl I thought was great. I loved the scene with her and Snake in the trainstation at the table just as she leaves. The scene in Act 5 with Akiba and her as they take on the Frogs was fantastic too, typical Koj. Raiden redeems himself no doubt also. Otacon is 'loyal to the end'.

Interms of the gameplay Act 2 is probably the high-point, particularly for the new form of 'stealth in the warzone'. Act 3 is quite interesting gameplay-wise, albeit I'm sure this is the act which Edge referred to as perhaps causing 'ennui' in some gamers. Act 4 is well, epic and Act 5 rounds it out well.

The split screen gameplay was sweet too, particularly Snake in the micro-wave tunnel.

Overall I think Koj ended the story well, wrapping up the loose ends as best he could, concluding the majority of the character's stories satisfyingly while leaving a few ambiguous. I definately needed to play it twice to 'get it' but still am unsure as to what Ocelot's goal was throughout all the games tbh.

Area 51 (PC) - 8/10

Awesome shooter, the guns feel like they have power (they shake your whole screen), which I like, it's a good FPS, story is just 'eh'. Predictable. Still worth a play, though.

Castle Crashers - 7/10

I'll give it a 9 once they fix the netcode issues, as it is it's a bit frustrating. Still extremely fun and addictive, but dropping out of the final boss fight on the last of his eight or so forms (epic, btw) is not my idea of a good time. Playing it solo is still kind of fun, but multiplayer should be where it's at. Here's hoping for a patch, and soon.

Solo is really fun to me. Although, I'd rather be playing multiplayer with several of my friends than playing alone. I'm pretty certain it's just Microsoft's servers as I've read on another forum that a bunch of people weren't even able to download the game or buy MS points of the console due to some server malfunction.

We should try to play it again online. Contact me if you are down dear sir.

By the way,

Castle Crashers - 9/10 Extremely fun. I loved Alien Hominid HD, and this game is just as fun and addictive.

Doom 3. It's awesome.

Sarge as a half demon half tank is wicked.

Super Mario Galaxy- 9/10

It's an amazing game, with fully orchestrated music to boot, but some powerups have bugs, some stars are too freakin' hard, and I experienced lag during one boss battle.

Overall, I would definitely reccomend this game to anyone.

TFU Demo - 6/10

Once again developers go for gimmicks over gameplay.

Area 51 (PC) - 8/10

Finally someone agrees that it wasn't complete shit.

Natural Selection - 10/10

Haven't played in about two years almost, still a ****ing awesome mod.

"**** you"? Is that all you got, Pes? Come on - lay it on me. Say it all. Say what you really mean!

You know, Area 51 wasn't just shite, it was ****ing abysmal - a stain upon gaming history.

Area 51 was only average. :|

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Gameplay - 9/10
-1 only for being too easy (playing on normal difficulty). Only really challenging part was the final act.

On the otherhand there are HOURS of cutscenes. Some are very fun to watch, but some are just two ****ing long. You can shave an hour off this game simply by removing dialogue where characters repeat what has been said already. You get explained what the war economy is at least three times and I couldn't count the amount of times that Liquid's plan is explained to me. The phrase "In other words..." is used at least seven hundred times. Also, every single time Naomi opens her mouth after Act 2 you can zone out. Either she is talking self-righteous crap or it's just completely irrelevant.

crysis **** this/10

I wanted to try this game again to see if i was maybe i little too hard on it but now it won't even run again AH!! **** IT!

Bionic commando rearmed (PC) 8/10

seems fun, controls are taking a bit getting used to though but I can't see the whole OMG factor to this, maybe cos I didn't play the original.

Sniper Elite - 9/10

Biased because I love the snipers, but this one is pretty DAMN realistic. You have to compensate for gravity, wind, target movement, breathing, even your ****ing heartbeat. It's mostly about sniping, but you can get all the WW2 guns and shoot em up, although you'll probably die quickly. It's a general stealth game, sabotage this, sneak in here, then assassinate this guy. But it's just so good. Especially when you get the bullet-cam kill. So kick ass.

There's also things you can do to keep yourself even more stealth, like from Enemy at the Gates, when he's sniping the guys when bombs blow up to mask the sound, you do the same thing here and stuff like that.

It's damn cool, requires ALOT of patience. You have to go super slow or they'll see you, you have to use cover or they'll see you, you have to look out for enemy snipers and enemies, you don't have to kill anyone, it's encouraged you kill nothing but your targets. They blend in very well, so you'll often be slowly lurking by only to find out a guy was right beside you and you don't find out until your dead. Binoculars are important, very important. Also there's alot of stuff to defend you position, although it's encouraged you take your shot and move on so they don't find you, you can fortify your position via trip mines and things of that nature. But enemies are very smart, they'll flank you without you knowing, I'm surprised how smart they are, smarter then most games now-a-days, to be honest.

I recommend this game to people who like stealth and people who like sniping. Very underrated game. Definitely worth a try.

Oh yea, you can play a custom difficulty by turning off gravity (so you don't have to aim higher to compensate) and turning off wind and stuff like that. I'm playing the hardest, so... yea.

COD4 - 7/10 Nice and simple but awesomely fun and well thought out multiplayer.

I've pood better games than Area 51 :p
Shut the **** up and go play your oh-so-holy Deus Ex.

Alien Shooter Vengeance - 8/10

SO MUCH BLOOD.

What the **** willie, I love you. And that game.

I RARELY buy games, and I payed money to have Alien Shooter shipped to me from England :| (only like $10). So good, imo.

Crysis 10/10
Final Fantasy VII 10/10
Ocarina of Time ((123482163459821345923485823452837423423748239428374628374)^godly)/10

Stalker - i'm really struggling to get on with this. The rpgness and open ended exploration is great, but the combat is stick pencils in your eyes bad.

One day we will get a fps/rpg that does both things well.
