Slither - 8/10

A very enjoyable b-movie that had a studio feel to it. They did a damn fine caricature of small-town America and I laughed a fair amount. It was also suitably gross, which was nice. Overall a good way to spend an hour and a half with some buds.

The Godfather - has to be 10/10 really.

I hadn't seen it in ages. Still great, and with possibly the best end scene in a movie.

I disagree with you there. Its not that i dont like the movie, its that i don't really see anything special in it, with the exception of an amazing performance by Marlon Brando.

I'm not ragging on the film, but since its pretty much universally recognised as one of the best films ever, i expected big things of it. But i found myself not really caring at around the point Michael goes to Sicily.

7.5/10

Slither 8/10

Very fun movie all round, finished a bit fast and they should have included the deleted scenes.

Ong Bak - 8/10 Superb action, amazing martial arts and stunts.

Tom Yum Goong (The Protector) - 8/10 Very basic plot but the action was amazing, very brutal, especially the large fight at the end.

For some reason, the Godfather movies are the only "long" movies I can watch over and over again.

Goodfellas? Casino? Apocalypse Now? 2001? A million other movies that have a heavy length and are better than The Godfather?

Severance - 9/10

The best Horror/Comedy since Shaun Of The Dead, us Brits do these flms best :D

Not to mention, it was about 50x better than Hostel, which was supposed to be serious.

I can barely get through 2001 on one watch.

And there aren't a million movies better than the Godfather. There's maybe a handful at best.

Yeah, ok, so I was exaggerating. Still, I've tried to watch the Godfather three or so times, and it was just three hours of BLAH to me.

House of Flying Daggers - 9/10 - Really enjoyed this movie. Heard some very good things about it so i decided to rent it. Very glad i did. The fight scenes were awesome, but so was the story in my opinion. Ending was a bit sad though :(

Go watch it if you haven't.

Unleashed (AKA Danny the Dog) - 9/10. i really enjoyed this movie!! jet li and morgan freeman team up well. :D

United 93 - 9.5/10

What's there to say? Definitely one of the saddest movies I've ever seen. I had a hard time not crying while they were all calling people. It was a good reminder though. I'd hate to ever forget. I thought this was very well-done and tasteful. Just...... damn.

Ah, I forgot I watched The protector last week. I give it 8/10 as well.
Fight scenes are amazing, and the humor is pretty good for Thai.
Ong Bak was good as well, but I prefer this one.

I cried my eyes out in the last five minutes or so. It was so harrowing.

I really want to see that documentary on the DVD.

I can understand that. A friend of mine isn't too keen either.

I like the way the movies focus on tradition, family, protocol, everything that other mob movies nod at, but never explore. The contrast in Michael from when we first see him, an innocent ww2 hero in uniform, to the final scene when his transformation is complete and we see the door is shut on his wife literally sends a shiver down my spine. Part 2, which is just as good imo, adds even more layers of richness and history to the story and characters. Bloody great stuff :)

Tron - 7.5/10; Glad I -finally- saw this, it was fun.

Wargames - 7.2/10; Another move I'm glad I finally saw, it was quite good.

Silent Hil 7/10
Good but a few things dragged it down for me like
SPOILERS!
Alessa explaining (almost) everything when they meet. Monsters are just encountered once then thrown away. I prefered the game's story. The games had a much better atmosphere IMO.
END OF SPOILERS

Three Burials 8/10
I didn't see the start of this film but it I really liked it. It's not an action film or a romance or a comedy, it's just drama really but I enjoyed it and like the ending.

Versus was craptacular.

Ong Bak - 8/10 Superb action, amazing martial arts and stunts.
One of my favourite martial arts movies. Such awesome action... the fights are hypnotic to watch.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - 10/10

Jack Nicholson is amazing in this. The ending's kinda sad, but good.

Clerks II - 9/10 - I was lolling the whole movie.

That's right, it just came out for you Aussies, didn't it?

Yeah, that and Little Miss Sunshine were the two movies that I saw this summer and really really liked.

X-Men 3 - The Last Stand 8/10, somehow not as good as the the second x-men, but I feel better than the first,

I like how everything isn`t entirly a happy ending for the good guys.

French Connection II - 8.5/10

Gene Hackman is superb in his role.
