This is a a serious issue. This feature being in multiplayer makes or breaks the game for me! Same for every other one I discover that I think would be good in multiplayer.

Throughout the development of the game, we were looking for as many classic Western moments to pack into the game as possible. The concept of a Mexican stand-off, with gunfighters suspensefully poised, looking into the eyes of their killers seemed well suited to the game and also a great way to get acquainted with the players in a match before you set about trying to kill them. Team Games start with both sides lined up in a Showdown. Free For All matches start with the Standoff with everyone in a circle. It makes it really tense with everyone pointing their gun at other players – and it is actually possible for everyone to get killed right at the start.

I love this part. Everybody dying in the shootout. Awesome.

The MP will eventually go the way of GTA IV, and only have it's free roam mode actively used. I guarantee it. That could be good or bad, depending on your preferences.

I am hyped for the game, but I think you read a little too much into some of the hype posts, at least mine anyway.

I too am skeptical whether this will be as good as everyone says it is. Hype is almost always a bad thing. I shall wait for the reviews anyway, it does look good, but I can't see it being some ground breaking achievement, theres bound to be **** ups along the way.

As long as it's what people mockingly say it is, Western GTA4, I'll love it.

Because I thought GTA4 was a great game. And the wiggidy wiggidy wild wild west is the best setting.

To be honest, the reason I'm so hyped about this game is because I never liked the Wild West setting... I wasn't interested in "Cowboys and Indians" as a kid.

This game has generated an interest of it in me.
