For me, once I hype a game it's becomes impossible to become a let down. I become blind to quality, so even if this game is completely broken, repetitive and dull, it will still be fun to me.

Biggest letdown of 2010, calling it now.

You guys are hyping it up way too much.

I wanna kinda agree, I am really looking forward to this but GOTY? No that's mass effect 2 with only portal 2 even close to usurping it.

this better be one epic game i loved the first one

To be honest, the reason I'm so hyped about this game is because I never liked the Wild West setting... I wasn't interested in "Cowboys and Indians" as a kid.

This game has generated an interest of it in me.

Same here. My father was always trying to get me to watch those too. They're his favorites. I think this may be a game he can actually get into that isn't racing. (inb4 horse races)

That and "Hang'em High" are my two favorite western movies. \o/

Holy shit this is the slowest moving scene I've ever seen. Its like 2 minutes of talking, four minutes of literally staring at each other, and two seconds of something happening.

The game better have that in multiplayer. Would be bullshit if it doesn't.

I wholeheartedly approve and concur with the above poster.

I make for a terrible meme.

Oh my god memes, the game better have memes in it, it's bullshit else.

EDIT:It's been confirmed that the game will have every meme, and everything else in existence in it.

I'm going to have to watch some westerns to get me pumped.

I was thinking about Deadwood to get pumped for it. Is it any good? The modern profanity seems unusual... but I read why they did it, since all the profanity of the time would be ridiculously silly to people today.

I was thinking more along the lines of Clint Eastwood movies. I haven't seen Deadwood but someone I know says it's pretty good.

Only two weeks now till I can start hunting me some bears.

I rented Deadwood and watched three episodes over three nights, and each time I ended up falling asleep. And I have no idea what was going on in them still.

Just posting a few images that I thought were nice. Probably already posted, but i'm too lazy to skim over the last few pages.

Krynn meet Sergio Leone, Sergio say hi to Krynn. This Italian director excels in long, spun-out scenes. The opening scene from Once Upon A Time In The West for example goes on for about 10, 15 minutes with basically nothing story-wise happening. Utterly entertaining though. Leone is one of my favourite directors.

EDIT

The first DLC pack is scheduled for June. It will contain six co-op missions. Moar:

In addition to the deep single player campaign and robust online multiplayer components of Red Dead Redemption, we are also very happy to finally reveal the game’s co-op mode, which will be released FREE in June simultaneously for both consoles via Xbox LIVE® and PlayStation®Network, respectively.

The Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack will feature six all-new cooperative multiplayer missions to play with 2-4 players. This will be a completely free download that we will have ready for you to download and play at some time in June.

These six explosive and epic missions will play out across the game world, including:

“Walton’s Gold”
Walton’s Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can – Walton’s boys have rigged the place to blow!

“The River”
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town’s massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

“Ammunition”
The Mexican Army has the town of Tesoro Azul under siege. Storm the gates under heavy cannon, Gatling gun and sniper fire to destroy the Mexican artillery placements.

Plus three more missions to be revealed in detail soon.

The Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack will also yield additional multiplayer XP rewards, and brand new Achievements/Trophies to unlock.

Stay tuned for much more information – as well as release information and pricing on two further downloadable content updates, which we plan to release over the summer. Both of them will also be available simultaneously for both consoles.

Awesome Shakermaker! And those are some great screenshots Hokey.

I love the fact that the DLC will be coop focused. It seems they have their priorities straight when it comes to ensuring the long term appeal of the game.

I would like to take the opportunity to second this opinion . . .

FRAK YA CO OP!

So basically, it's a free update that adds a CO-OP mode for 2 to 4 players in June, then after that there will be two other DLCs which be announced later and will cost?

I'm guessing not all the DLCs will be co-op oriented.

It would be nice if they could make a 16 player coop campaign. I mean, from the videos it looks like the game could handle enough enemies on screen to give 16 players a challenge.

Well it details the 3 co-op missions then underneath it says 3 more missions will be revealed soon. So I think the 6 missions will be one DLC, they're just taking a while to release all the info.

Well yes, that's the way I understood it too, I was just guessing what the two other DLCs(the ones that will cost) will be, if they will be more co-op content or maybe some new single-player content.

Not like I read anything but the last couple of posts, but shouldn't co-op be done anywhere you want? It's just adding the feature, and you can play that anywhere. What is co-op content? What did you have in mind by that?

Paid DLC would/should be... content. More map area or ... multiplayer maps, or you know...

horse armor.

What the hell are you talking about Virus? Those Co-op missions will be free.

I don't even know what Im talking about.

Yeah I know; that was clear, I didn't say otherwise.

But I thought the co-op was a feature that could be used at any time during the single campaign.

...Because that's how I imagined Co-op. Yeah, I should probably have read some stuff first.

OK here, details on co-op, posted by Shakermaker: http://www.rockstargames.com/reddea..._mission_pack_coming_in_june_as_free_download

Ok, now I'm on the same page as everyone else. Sorry about that.

Not gonna risk spoiling fun gameplay features by reading that.

Edit: Bah who am I kidding, I can't resist reading that shit!

Edit2: Done reading, damnit my hype-o-meter is at max!

I'll have to wait for the reviews. Got too many open-world games to be burning through right now.
