Returning character revealed

I'm pretty damn sure there are no parallel worlds currently in Half-life.

Soo... does that mean we play as one of those guys, or they come into the story ?

As fascinating as this discussion on time travel is (it all depends on which theory you choose to believe - there are many) i have to enquire if this is actually true?

Because Shepard is actually G-Man.

All i know is that the Gman tells Shepered "he reminds him of himself."

It seems to be an interesting idea, or am i merely being naive?

There's no evidence, at all, that Shephard = GMan. The whole time-travel angle on the GMan's identity is generally considered implausible, since it doesn't explain anything and instead requires a lot of explanation itself.

Yeah, i guess your right, just thought it would have been quite an interesting twist.

I registered to answer here. :E

I played through the test chamber and didn't realize anything someone else hasn't done here. However, i found an interesting piece of dialog.

Scientist 1 - "What is he doing in there?"
Scientist 2 - "Nothing you should need to worry about, Gordon."

If you think about it, it sounds weird. "In there" is probably the test chamber.
If they meant Gordon, Scientist 2 would probably not have told him not to worry, right?

If i'm correct, someone else was in the test chamber. And since i only know of one person that has the ability to turn invisible to some - the G-Man was inside the test chamber. And the scientist recognized him.

Call me stupid if you want. :E

So yes, we do still pick stuff out of the mix and make it work. I mean, there's a scientist you hear a lot in the test chamber in the early part of Half-Life, and he's never reappeared. And we've finally worked out a place for him where he's been all this time! It's been pretty fun figuring out how to bring that guy back.
lol. it is about Kleiner.

I think it means, What is he (the player) doing in there. Because he says it if you wait and dont do anything. Then the other guy says theres nothing to worry about, eg. continue.

Yeah, that sounds more likely. ;(

How about that scientist that is knocked unconcious near the doors to the test chambers and revived by a guard? I dont feel like going back and checking to see but is that the one younger looking dark haired guy who talked about the 'resonance cascade possibility' or another dude? He would make a good canidate since he survived.

Isn't that a guard being revived by a scientist? Is in HL:Source at least.

Yes it is, i remember clearly in Half-Life it was a guard being revived by a scientist, and he actually saved his life. The guard just got up and "What's up?"...

Oh yeah, thats right. Mixed the two roles up.

Yeah, its the scientist reviving the guard.

Basically as i see it, theres only two remaining choices of scientist, the guy who looks vaguely like Einstein, and the young guy with brown hair, vaguely looking like the gman. When you leave the test chamber, the young guy is dead in the room with the two retinal scanners, meaning really the only remaining choice is the guy who vaguely resembles einstein (coincidentally the guy who is reviving the security guard)

Well thats just my opinion, how valve choose to do is there choice, im just voicing the logic from what happens in the original half life 1.

The one sci that tells you to get to the surface (who is supposed to be Eli) never mentions specifically any of the scientists that were in the control room, but he does say "the rest of the science team". I don't know how many of the scis in the other parts of the facility survived, but if I were him, I wouldn't have assumed- I also wouldn't have said the "rest of the science team" unless I was sure some other members survived.

Actually, nevermind, I think anybody who was in the control room that didn't die right away, died when that one elevator crash. The number of scientists and corpses does not match up, I have no clue where this guy came from. AAAAH. I probabbly just restated everything in this thread so far...

Well, anybody who comes after can just read my post and be done with it.

I liked Rosenburg, both in Blue-Shift and Decay, but I'd rather see new characters making an appearance or characters that only appeared briefly in the first games. Rosenburg is history, he has already appeared in two games and I don't think he'll appear in any more.

Eh? I thought Rosenburg wasn't in Decay. You confusing him with Dr. Keller? Because that's the first time I've heard of this.

Wow, hard to believe i haven't heard that until now...or I simply overlooked it.

Rosenburg was in Decay. I think he's an ok character, but other than that he has the personality of a concrete wall. He isn't particularly well written and he is just so flat, especially when you compare him to the likes of the HL2 characters.

You find Rosenbury locked in a train carriage.

That's where he should stay; locked in a train carriage.

I think it's Rosenberg. :|

Explanation - i don't think the character is Rosenberg, i think it's spelled like that.

I really really really really want Adrian to show up again. Probably my favorite Half Life character. Pardon me for saying so, and I know this is controversial, but Adrian seemed a bit more fleshed out as a character than Gordon.

Not to mention that I know if you've played OP4 you've got to be wondering what G-Mans plans for Adrian are and whether he's still been in limbo for the last decade or two...
