NJSpeed's just given his honest opinion... and I know many people feel the same as him. I'm not going to jump on him for his opinion.
However... I'm going to pick up on a few points.
There is a very good reason why that poll means jack.
Basically, the people who enter such polls are not "most people". They're a select group of dedicated gamers, who spend their time looking at websites about games. These people will have grown up using conventional controller layouts.
You'll find that on a wider level, "most people" haven't entered that poll at all. Why? Because right now, "most people" are pointing their remote control at their TV, idly channel-hopping between football and Friends reruns.
Why? Because those people are not gamers. Yet.
...
And there's another reason why opinion polls are meaningless at this stage. Simply, the point of Nintendo's new controller is entirely invisible in screenshots. Even in that stupid promo video, the true essence of it isn't communicated. As far as I can tell, there's only two ways to really understand this new controller. Either a), spend several hours researching, reading impressions, reading technical descriptions and suchlike. Or b), spend ten seconds playing a game with it. The majority of poll voters, needless to say, will have done neither.
What he does is this: he picks up the controller, and realises that he's playing a new game... with new and innovative gameplay... and new styles of play.
The controller alone does not create an exciting console. When looking at photos of a remote control, you're not going to feel the same excitement you get when looking at Gears of War shots. It will be down to the games to entice you in this way. However, the games spring directly from the control method. So although people don't "want" a new controller, they want what a new controller makes possible. You said it yourself.

I checked out a few polls on the Revolution controller and it seems most people are turned off by it. Just google "revolution controller poll".

Of course, people don't want a new controller. The man on the street doesn't think - "WOW, I'm going to buy that thing for its awesome remote control!!!"What gamers want ISNT new controllers, it's new games... with new and innovative gameplay, new characters, new enemies, and new styles of play..
