Hey guys, just posting some screenshots of different Source engine effects for the people still stuck at work, or for those unable to run CS:S for some reason.

The first three shots are effects much like the shiny floor in Dust, though it's great to finally see some variety.

The last two shots are of the glass effects. The first is a pane shattering, obviously, and the second is of me walking through a damaged sheet of glass (if it's already cracked, you can use your momentum to break through it). Take a look at those super-sharp glass textures on the second glass shot... that's insane. Way to go, Valve :D

A few examples of destroyable models. The first two shots show how you can actually break chunks off of the flat-screens in the Office level. It looks good in the shots but amazing in motion, you'd have to see it yourself. The way the monitor sparks and falls off of the table realistically is really great.

The last three screenshots are of the fruit tables in the Italy market. I bet it looks great during a heavy firefight when fruit is flying everywhere with grenades going off and whatnot. You can shoot open the watermelons, as seen in the second pic, and even pop open the oranges and bananas. The designer's attention to detail makes it great.

More pics:

Cover - Some cover (physicalized, of course) to hide behind in Office.

Decals - Nice shot of the detail they put into the blood decals.

Flare - The great sun/sky effects really make the levels seem alive.

Organic - The levels look SO much better with an upped poly count.

Vehics - Aww come on, they show us the vehics but don't let us drive 'em?

These first two shots show better how you can break models into smaller and smaller pieces.

The last three shots show off the water effects. Water1 is me standing in the water, and it's almost transparent up close (though in the game it distorts the ground quite a bit, so it's much easier to see) and fades to a non-reflective, dirty brown color in the distance. It's really cool how HL2 features many different types of water.

Water2 shows the really detailed splashes, which look even better than what we saw in early CS:S movies. And the last shot again shows off the transparency effect, except unlike Water1 where the water in the distance is flat shaded, this water reflects the archway nicely.

Good job.
Are there any plans for the rest of the models or bots?

Bust up a computer and components fly out. I saw an ATI x800 gfx board, a Creative Audigy 2 sound card, two hard disks (they look to be Western Digital) and a DVD-ROM drive.

I can't tell which mobo is used or who makes the CPU, but they are probably recent.

The computer monitor also has an icon for Splinter Cell.

Nice details! :D

Cliffe: Can you explain why a creditcard number can only be used once? A friend tried buying this for me but it didn't go through ;( *sad*

 Safe to say CS:S ALONE PWNZ DOOM III!!!!!!

Wow! The attention to detail in those screenshots is amazing, I love it!
Thanks for posting!

Ha, awesome! Great for throwing in the face of aquaintances who are convinced HL2 looks like shit

Now I'm a Prowler! Woo! Although for all I know it went the way of the Hydra or is actually a fodder enemy...

I've seen servers with Chateau and Dust2, but I'm not sure if those were officially released.
