Holy shit.

Looks like they're letting new votes once a day. I have no doubt that the movie is awesome, but as you said, I think it's a little to early to put it in front of The Godfather. It'll hopefully drop in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, really looking forward to it, will watch it when it has its premier here in a week.

What implied that I implied that you cared about a happy ending?

Lol, I didn't call you a noob?

You quoted me, explained why there should be no 3rd movie, and said "**** happy endings lol".

I followed this series of events making minor conclusions, including the one of which we are debating.

Did anyone else think that Aaron Eckhart's performance was just as good as Ledger's?

Well, no. I thought he was outstanding, but no one was as good as Ledger. He was intensely disturbing. That said, I would've enjoyed Two Face in a third movie.

What do you mean you "would've"? Hello, ****ing spoiler tags.

Eh? I don't know if there is supposed to be a third film or not, and I'm only getting more confused..... are you saying there is supposed to be third movie?

I believe we have severely misunderstood each other. I think it'd be best if we both just fade into darkness.

Corp seems to be grouchy as heck in this thread.

Also, on topic, Eckhart was just as good as Ledger and Bale.
It's too hard for me to pick the best performance out of the three.

No, not at all. I am tonight's entertainment!

I still have yet to see The Godfather, I feel many mob movies are overrated.

Seriously, after you watch The Dark Knight ask yourself...
If you had to pick out of the two, which would you most enjoy watching?
So, imo, it deserves to be higher up than any other movie atm.

Bah, I don't like The Riddler, he's like a copy off of The Joker, but less interesting. Although I could see them doing something creepy with him, like maybe have the question marks tattooed all over his body.

What? It has nothing to do with the second film, so it's not a spoiler at all.

Yes Samon will flip out.

I barely unspoiled the Two Face bit for him. I like the idea of the riddler, but thinking of Jim Carey doesn't give me a lot of hope. And after the Joker and Two Face, the riddler? Doesn't make me pumped.

It's not spoiling it. It would be like if Spider-Man 2 just came out and someone made a thread on the reviews and then someone was like, "I hear Venom might be in the 3rd film". It's irrelevant.

Also, Samon flipped out because Two-Face is relevant to the second film and you really insinuated that Two-Face dies, which he does not want spoiled.

The Riddler would be horrible in the Batman Begins universe, not nearly menacing enough.

I'm hoping maybe Poison Ivy or Penguin.

I think the penguin would be rather ackward in the current universe, certainly not the first chose, but if you made him mobster like (ex: godfather) that might work.

I haven't watched the film, but I'd like to say that if the Riddler were done properly, he would be absolutely bad-ass. You have to take your concept of the guy away from the context of the Batman cartoons and some of the comics. Get rid of the ridiculous question-mark jumpsuit, give him some power (intellect, money, connections, etc) to leverage in his riddling, maybe make him some sort of quasi-serial killer. It could be an amazing character.

In all honesty, I think many will agree with me, not that I agree with all of his points, and of course not murder, but after watching The Joker in TDK, I can totally understand where he is coming from in terms of his idealism.

And did anyone else laugh at-

Joker: How many of your men did I kill?
Detective: ....... Six
Joker: *gives a shocked expression*Six?

I felt the same way and indeed lol'd at that bit

The previous actors of Batman and Two-Face must feel pretty lame now.

I imagine George Clooney started feeling lame immediately upon playing Batman

I agree. Also the Riddler could pose a big challenge toward batman in these dark times.

Picture a scenario where somehow batman has fallen for the Riddlers scheme and is stuck in some sort of maze and the riddlers goal is to have a) batman die and person X survive or b) have batman survive and person X die. Batman has to find a way to somehow save his own ass and the person X's life. In between all this would be a personal conflict for batman as he goes from self doubting because the people of gotham hate him but somehow gets the willpower to overcome and get out of there alive with person X alive

I personally think a two-face/Riddler combo would do great.

I like to vision this series follow the originals to a degree as far as villain appearances go.

I'd just like to quote some of my favorite lines from the movie, but of course there are some more by Bruce, The Joker, Dent, and Alfred that I have forgotten/cannot find-

"I'm a dog chasing cars. I don't have plans. I just do things. I'm not a schemer."

"You crossed the line first, sir. You hammered them. And in their desperation they turned to a man they didn't fully understand. Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

"This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object."

"Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a Dark Knight..."

"I Just want my phone call.."

“Chance is the only reality in this cruel world. Unprejudiced. Unbiased. Fair.”

"Madness is like gravity, all it needs is a little... push."

“People reveal their true colors moments before they die, so I guess, I knew your friends better than you ever did.”

could you find the Gordon speech at the end? Man, it was so empowering to hear.

oh nvm.. that's the whole line? Coulda soworn i was more along the lines of a speech but it sounds right.

And did anyone else laugh at-

Joker: How many of your men did I kill?

Joker: *gives a shocked expression*Six?

I laughed almost every time the joker was onscreen. It was amazing.

I laughed at the S painted in front of laughter on the truck
I laughed after the truck flipped over and Joker stumbled out, accidentally firing off a couple shots
I laughed at the hospitol dress stiff-walking he did
I laughed at the malfuncitoning detonator
I laughed at the grenades with all the pins tied to a ring
There were tons of other times where I was the only one laughing. I think everyone else felt bad for thinking the things he did were funny.

Who didn't laugh at Joker's magic trick scene?

I was like "OMFG PWNED! ROFLCOPTER!!!!"

The villains in the next film should be the Scarecrow (c'mon, he got tied up. like he didn't get away before the cops arrived.); the Riddler; and the Catwoman.

These three can get on Batman's case while the police hunt him at the same time.
