Hey amish. You said you bowled and won. In spoiler tags tell me what it was like! I want to know if it has good replay value.

basically none of the above give away anything other than just showing how graphics/gameplay/framerate/physics/feel are a world apart from any previous gta games

(i dont want to see any of the story/proper game until my pre-order arrives on tuesday but the above videos are well worth a guilty peek)

You're standing in the center of the lane, you can hold left or right on the left thumbstick to change your starting position. Press A to stay in that position. Then you pull back on the right thumbstick and then thrust it forward to throw the ball. The more force you do this with - the more speed the ball has. If you don't do it straight the ball will curve left or right. After the ball is rolling, you can give it some aftertouch with the thumbstick until it hits the first hash mark

Have you gone to the comedy club yet? Is it funny? And what kind of funny, like mild language funny or extreme use of the f:):pk word funny.

How many enterable buildings have you seen?

Is Kluckin Bell and that Pizza place in Liberty City? I know Burger Shot is I saw it in screens. Are the lines the employees at said eateries say still funny?

What's the level of variety in cars? Like have you seen 8 different taxi's?

Don't spoil but is the Radio station DJ dialog good? Same with the ad's.

Are there a wealth of good billboards and ad's?

Is there a gym like in San Andreas?

Is there a classic rock station?

Have you piloted a heli yet? And if you have how are they? And why do you own?

I know Kluckin' Bell is in. I don't know about a Pizza place yet. Haven't gone into any of them yet. I take my lady to classier places :p

So far car variety is good. I've only seen a couple kinds of taxis so far. I haven't run into the clone car issues from previous GTA games.

A user by the name of swiftor had been using Justin.tv to stream a webcam featuring him playing (presumably pirated) GTA IV on the xbox 360. Having scored over 450 000 views over the last two days, he finally received a message from Take 2 warning him that they have his IP and will contact his ISP to secure his real identity just a few moments ago. He was told to cease his broadcast or they will be resorting to legal means assuring him that "any legal action will not end amicably".

Many live streams have been circulating around the internet following the scene releases of GTA IV for the xbox 360 over the last 48 hours. I for one am glad to finally see some real gameplay footage! But be warned you will get a sense of shame and dehype after watching. With only 3 or so days to go, can you survive not watching this guy play right now :)

Here is a screenshot of some of his viewers' responses shortly after swiftor let people know about Take 2 contacting him.

Anyways. I'm depressed. Cops & Robbers can't be more than 8 players... 4 per team or so I read :( :( :( <sniff>


But I guess the 16 player total freeroam more than makes up for that. Anything goes in that... no rules, no restrictions.
 
I think I'm done with watching anymore gameplay. I need to purify my mind for play in 5 days... no more taint.
 
I'm not touching anything that has to do with that game until release. I will only look at screenshots posted in here. I want to build up the most anticipation possible, and by not watching anything, I'm doing a pretty good gaddamned job. :D

Okay, who here isn?t crazy for GTA IV? Seriously. 360 fans running a muck about it and their DLC with PS3 fans going crazy over finally playing one of the most anticipated titles to date. Even the PC crowd is joining in on the action and asking about when it?s likely GTA will come for the PC (e.g. 12 months+).

We hate to ruin the party for all the PC hopefuls out there, but Rockstar has something to say and you might want to sit down for this:

As for GTA IV coming out on the PC, that?s very doubtful as we currently have no plans to develop for the PC. We could only focus our efforts extensively on so many consoles at once, and PC might not see the light of day.

And the music stops. The DJ?s headphones pop out at the PC party crowd as the record warps a bit back. It?s dead silent. Nobody move.

Pretty disappointed in R* right now.
 
R* just topped my most hated ppl list.

But all in all it isn't that surprising. After all they haven't announced or released anything for the PC after GTA:SA ( which sold reasonably well I might add). Should have been obvious that they have abandoned the PC.

In conclusion, screw C*ckstar!
 
There's only one way to describe the above post: elitism.

I'm going to wait it and see on the PC release. Rockstar aren't going to say that they'll definitely make it for PC right before they're about to release it on PS3 and 360 in games bundles that will tempt people to impulse buy. Once about 6 months have passed and things calm down, then I'll start paying attention to what they have to say.
 
I'm a PC lover. I am loyal to the PC, but that does not make me somehow dislike consoles any more.

I grew up on consoles, starting with my NES my dad bought me and my brother before we moved to Alaska. Greatest day of my life. Following that was an SNES, Sega CD and Playstation in the years to follow.

Consoles will always be a part of my life as long as companies continue making good ones. PC's will also always be in my life.

PS3 can burn in hell though because of Sony's latest bullshittery over the development of the PS3.

Shame too, because I loved the PS2.

Same here. I have nothing against the PS3 or 360, the only real reason I don't own either is because of the cost and that there aren't enough good games to justify buying one. GTA4 looks fantastic but I can't justify laying several hundred pounds on the counter just to play it, especially when that money could go towards a new PC that would do more than just gather dust after a few months.
 
I'm not an elitist, I own a XB360, Wii, PC, used to own a PS3, buying it again once MGS4 comes out.
 
Woah woah woah. Amish I <3 you. I haven't watched any vids and I much prefer to read your accounts of the game.

So whats the overall dick around factor like? I mean, in San Andreas you could pretty much start out by running around Los Santos, collecting random weapons, hitting betting stores, mugging people/killing drug dealers for cash etc etc. Does IV still have all that? Are weapons a bit harder to come by?

Also, PC vs. Console GTFO.

Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Revolver 2 are headed to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as is the previously PS3-only gumshoe adventure L.A. Noire. I don't feel like buying a console and a proper TV (I have like a 15 year old one, barely watch it anyway) for one game.

On the other hand it might be as true as the "banning from LIVE for playing early" news.
 
It'll be out for the PC around Christmas. I'll bet you as much money as you want.

That website looks like a site that I could shit out my arse in 2 seconds. The quote isn't even in quotation marks or anything.

It also states 12+ months when every GTA game has come out 7-8 months later for the PC.

Shut up for god sakes or take it to boards that give a shit about your hang ups (IE GTA fanboy Boards). GTA 3/VC/SA sold solidly on PC and the notion that R*, Take 2 or more importantly future owners EA (it's going to happen) are just going to wave goodbye to 2 - 4 million unit sales (60 - 120 million) is pretty much nonsense. Frankly given how insanely easy it is to Port 360 to PC, and that the news is without a defined source I'd be inclined to take it with a very large pinch of salt. Fact of the matter is, right now R* have obligations to MS & Sony regarding DLC and until those are out of the way I doubt we'll be seeing any PC version announcements. None of the GTA 3 series were ever announced for PC before the PS2 release.
