The title speaks for itself. Right now I am reading The Iraq War by John Keegan, and 1776 by David McCullough. They're both non-fiction. It's been ages since I read a novel ....

Ceaser's Women, Colleen McCullough.

Soon to read:
Thud!, Terry Pratchett.

C++ for Dummies, I also have'nt read fiction books for a long time.

The Nameless
-Sara Douglass

Very good, church style thriller - ish

After that i must chew my way through a couple of Morgan Freeman Sci-Fi

Some book by Ian Rankin, I forget the title, but its pretty good so far!

Riddley Walker, by Russel Hoban. It's a nice epic story written in highly regressed english, due to a thousand years of psuedo-Iron age because of an apocalypse.

As an example of how it is written, here is a little snippet from their legend of how their world came to be:

"Mr Clevver sed tu Eusa, Thayr ar tu menne agenst us this tym we mus du betteren that. We keap fytin aul thees Warrs wy doan we jus du 1 Big 1. Eusa sed, Wayr du I fyn that No.? Wayr do I fyn that 1 Big 1? Mr Clevver sed, Yu mus fyn the Littl Shynin Man the Addom he runs in the wud."

MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror, by Steve Alten.

It's about a HUGE shark called a Carcharodon Megalodon. It's also being made into a movie.

Some history book, grrrrr, damn history coursework

War of the Worlds - H.G. Wells

does it count if you have to read it in your english class?

and the next book that we have to read is Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury

Don't see why it wouldn't. Fahrenhiet 451 was so badass, burn them books! I dunno if it's by the same author, but "The Giver" was a badass book. The two are kinda similiar.

nah that was Lois Lowry that wrote that book (no i did not know that off the top of my head)

aileveation, quick, look out your window and tell me what color the moon is.

btw, I liked farenheit 451. read it in sixth grade or sommat..

Hidden Empire by Kevin J. Anderson. The First book in the Saga of the Seven Suns.

Deception Point, by Dan Brown - burrowed it off me brother.

Strange though, the last book I read before this was Harry Potter about six years ago  I gotta start reading more.

today i will finish James Ellroy's "L.A. Confidential." Is it good you ask? later when I return it to the library I'll be picking up another book in the same series "The Big Nowhere." go out and read his stuff immediately.

Just finished A Clash of Kings, in the Song of Fire and Ice series. Bout to go buy A Storm of Swords, the third book. Its really good if your into the kings and generals with thousands of soldiers. Its a Fantasy, but its more realistic than most fantasy books. There is no magic really, so its all based off our actual history than anything else. Swords, spies, wars, kings, lords and ladies. Probably my favorite books I have ever read.

Just finished three books in the past two weeks: first the new Jonathan Safran Foer (he is a ****ing genius) book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, then Denis Johnson's Jesus' Son, then The Rules of Attraction by Brett Easton Ellis. I've been wanting to read Dave Eggers for a while so I'll probably pick up A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius later today. I read soooo much.
I just want to reiterate, please read both Everything Is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, the man is a brilliant writer

That book is mother****ing brilliant.

You hear that people? READ RIDDLEY WALKER.

I've just finished The Difference Engine too. :D

I am floating between Karl Marx and Freidrich Engel's 'The Communist Manifesto' and 'The Algebraist' by Iain M Banks.

btw I just finished Rubicon by Tom Holland. It's about the transition of the Roman republic into the Roman empire. Intrigues, decadence, brutal fighting, and lots of interesting little (gory) details.

I'm reading The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. The current book is called Drawing of the Three. Anybody else like Stephen King or read The Dark Tower?

Rereading for the umpteenth time, Another Fine Myth, by Robert Asprin. I simply never tire from it. (As well as the 3 sequels :))

Martyn Pig, at the moment. Not really a big reader, but, eh, picked this one up.

You're upset about that? Gah.
Not necessarily. I'm just sort of miffed that it's not the book I suggested, but meh. I like it, so stop complaining, me! *smacks*

last book I read (I reread alot of books so I only have a few) was StarShip troopers by Robert A. Heinlein, if theres one word to describe it, it's vague (although thats not a bad thing)

R.A.H. is my favorite author. I absolutely love his stuff, though for whatever reason, I only kind of liked Starship Troopers, but ran into the book-on-tape version, and really enjoyed that.

I had a dinosaur craving so I read Jurassic Park and The Lost World over the summer (disappointed in the Lost World, but JP was very well done).

Currently, I'm reading the latest Harry Potter book in spurts because I'm in University. Too bad Kamikaze lived up to his name and ruined to ending, the bastard. :p

Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy. I've read it every Fall for the past 3 years. It is, in my opinion, the greatest book ever written.

The Difference Engine by William Gibson, Bruce Sterling
-- Oddest style of story telling I've ever come across in a novel, which ain't saying much because I don't read many novels.

A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide by Michael Meyers, Scott Jernigan
-- So easy to understand, I thought this would be a pain in the ass, but I really enjoy reading this. I'm at chapter 6 of 20 and there's like 1200 pages in total...

I'm only reading the former because I haven't had to go to school since Thanksgivings. (silly teachers are on strike here)

1984 - Orwell

Catcher In The Rye - Salinger
