Time for real feedback on user titles

And what's up with some people retaining Strider and Combine titles!? That's just favortism I tell ya. Favortism!
 
I vote for no member titles at all. If they're really necessary I'd rather have custom titles than ranks.

Member titles don't change until you post.
 
I think its all been set to member now until a new system is thought up....

I think the list ^^ is a gd idea allowing cusotm titles toppl over 7500 posts, however people would spam to get it, so yeah moderation is kinda important and the like, but then moderation has always been important...
 
No desserts. For christ sakes, NO DESSERTS.
User defined titles could work. Munro or someone would just first warn and then pwnban him incase of a stupid/insultive/inappropriate title, like a Super Moderator or THE4SSR4PER or something.
 
I still prefer the old one, it's good. I wonder why they changed it?
 
The mods/admins have already said no custom titles...so thats out the window now.
 
Why can't we just go back to the old stuff? Where did the old stuff go, anyway?

Sorry, that's about as lame as I can think of right now. Although I quite liked the cakes one...

I think its gonna have to be HL2 related ranks, cos we aint gonna agree on specific things we like. The reason we are all on these forums mainly is because we have the common interest in HL2, so its going to have to be related. Enemies possibly, but if you want something different, then weapons (kinda lame) or CS or HL2DM connections.

OR we could have an option in the user CP which we choose our favourite valve game from the original Halflife and its most popular mods, to Halflife 2 and its mods, then a box next to it indicating skill (newbie, amateur, pro, king, cheat etc) So titles would read
'Day of defeat newbie'
'Counter Strike King'
'HL2DM pro player'
'CS Source cheater/hax0r'

You get the point, so just two options, your fav game and your 'skill' Shouldnt be too hard to make. And everyone will be special. Oh and for the more posts you have the higher your skill at that game, until you are Op4 god (for badger :)) and anyone else.
 
I think the highest/best user title should be The G-man or something :D
And change my thing to something else. member is gay :p

He had "The only gay in the village" for some hour or two, and then changed it to "member", but it doesn't change until you post, so you haven't posted since tonight (or something) you are still "The only gay in the village". I think.

I don't see the problem with having custom titles. It's not as if we have problems with Custom Avatars or Sigs. If anyone has a stupid title, surely a mod can ask them to change? It'll be just the same as someone having a sig that's over 4 lines long or whatever.
 
I've been at a few forums and what they usually do is have some generic titles up until about 500 posts, then the user gets to create his own title through his CP. Also, they have to have been a member for like, over 3 months or something, so as not to promote spamming.

well thats my humble suggestion, there are literally thousands of combinations you could fiddle with. these would probably be my choices, with some more games added.

I think Custom ones would be good, but it'd mean harder work to moderate but just give people warnings for inappropiate titles and noone will mess ;)

I cant think up any user titles, as in a list. There was nothing wrong imo of the old hl2 enemies way... but that does get abit boring.

I vote Custom :D

No custom titles unless you are a good member of the community.
