Because it happens CONSTANTLY. Of course you wouldn't notice it, and Eejit wouldn't notice it, and maybe no one else notices it, but because it's ABOUT me, directed to me, of course I'm noticing it. Trust me, it happens ALL THE GODDAMNED TIME. Like, a ridiculous amount. There's literally almost no time when I can come into Film and TV, post my opinion, and not have someone pop their head in at me and say

"HAY DARKSIDE, HUH HUH, YOU LIKE THE TRANSFORMERS MOVIE. THAT MOVIE WAS SHIT!"

To me it just seems like every time I hit "Submit Reply," if that post contained something negative about the movie, SOMEONE is bound to look at my name, scan my post for a negative opinion, and be like "TRANSFORMERS TRANSFORMERS TRANSFORMERS!" It's not even discussing the movie at hand! I mean did Transformers have to be brought up in this thread at all? Couldn't we have discussed GAMER solely on GAMER alone? If I hadn't posted in this thread with a negative opinion would Transformers have even come up?

Of course nobody else is going to pay attention to how often I read those responses, because it's not them. They're not reading it or keeping track of it (unless they're one of the people posting it, and even then they don't pay attention to the slew of other people who do it). Just me, because it's about me.

We couldn't even get through discussing a shitty movie because someone had to pipe up, quote Darkside55 in Film and TV, and say, "HUH-HAY! TRANSFORMERS!"

So by all means like the transformers but when you argue that it's the best film ever made or that it stands up to citizen kane well then we have no choice but to question your opinion on EVERY movie

The fact is, well there's two things there:

The first is, it's my favorite movie, so I say "it's the best movie" somewhat in jest. You've never seemed to have gotten this. It's my favorite movie, I love the movie, I like to make my little joke about Orson Welles doing Transformers after Citizen Kane and then dying because he felt he couldn't do a greater work, because to me it's funny. And I think I've said it like, once on this forum. I think I said it the very first time I mentioned Transformers on this forum, or somewhere in that first thread about Transformers after I'd made the comment, "It's the best movie ever." I mean, apparently hyperbole just goes way past you.

And second, it's like you're seriously deeply offended about my opinion. Like, assuming I DID believe that Transformers was a better movie than Citizen Kane, assuming I did believe Transformers was literally the best movie from a filmmaking or film-as-art standpoint, it seems like that literally offends you on such a profound level that you'd actually say, "Well if you think that then we have to question what you say about every movie," or "You're entitled to like Transformers the movie BUT YOU CAN'T LIKE IT TO THAT DEGREE YOU HAVE TO LIKE IT TO THIS DEGREE ONLY." And then I end up getting followed around and hearing "Transformers" everywhere I go.

And then I end up in discussions AGAIN about Transformers, when I don't even want to fucking TALK about Transformers. I just wanted to pop in here, watch the trailer that Asuka posted, and talk about a shitty movie where some convict is controlled by some kid in a futuristic deathmatch sport, and it's got Ludacris in it. That's the movie I wanted to talk about in this thread.

And here I am, AGAIN, posting some shit about Transformers. Mother of fuck can we contain Transformers to the Transformers threads? Is that really too much to ask? We shit all over this thread for a shitty movie talking about another movie entirely.

also. one of my fave action movies is El Mariachi/Desperado. in it the protagonist uses a gun that's built into his guitar. I can easily suspend my disbelief so long as it doesnt dwell too long in the realm of stupid. Michael bay doesnt realise there's a fine line

I'm not targetting you, I genuinely find it hard to understand that someone who's a fan of Michael Bay films would actually think Gamer looks bad. And like I say, this reaction wouldn't be specific to you either.

Really this. I really don't see how Bay is even brought into the discussion most of the time. I don't see a change of director for a live action Transformers movie having much impact. Except, say, a terrible impact that makes it take itself too seriously.
