Now Bnet is like dead because of all the gamestop nubs! Damn you all!
 
So, there is SO MUCH going on today. People playing with the Editor already, people downloading the patch, bypassing Blizzard release....It's so hard to keep up!

Here are some things others have noticed.

General
- New maps

Zerg
- Larva cancellation doesn't kill larva
- Infestors have new ability
- Infested terrans were removed (or moved)
- Creep Tumors not auto targeted
- Burrowed infestors and roaches now receive 30% movement bonus from creep
- Queens got a faster speed boost on creep
- New upgrades at lair: EnduringCorruption, RazorTech (Single Player/MP unsure)
- Ultralisk got bigger (InnerRadius From .5 to .75)

Terran
- EMP needs research (100/100) 80 sec build time
- Reactor Build time (to 40 from 50)
- Marauder upgrade from (100/100 to 50/50)

Protoss
- Mothership is now armored type as well
- Immortal build time increased 40 -> 55
- Dark Templars (From 100/250 to 150/150)

So a couple of changes there. Obviously, the big one is the map editor, so I'm expecting it to be released today *if it isn't already....not at home, can't tell*
 
No 3v3 and 4v4 yet... ;(


Spawn larva hotkey change I already hate... V is much harder to hit than R to me! The balance changes seem "okay"... fungal growth should be a lot more usable now at least.

I am most excited about the general changes. :p And the new maps of course...

Actually I don't think any of them were over $50. Starcraft was definitely $50, Warcraft 3 was definitely $50 too. I'm pretty sure Diablo 2 was also $50. World of Warcraft was also $50. All of the expansions for all of those games were below $50.

Very very rarely have non-collectors editions been over $50 in PC games. That started with console games and now it's starting to carry over for some reason... they'd call it inflation, I'd call it taking advantage of a precedent.

But yeah, I'm pretty certain that no other non-CE game from Blizzard has ever been over $50 retail. It's not so much that I remember specifically what I paid for them, but I do know I have never paid more than $50 retail for any game I've purchased and I've bought every Blizzard game that's come out since 1998 straight away except for Warcraft 2 Battle.net edition.
 
I liked Metalopolis, but I wasn't a huge fan of Lost Temple. Hopefully I can get my beta key today :D
 
Just got a beta key from my gamestop pre-order, but it says something about a service update when attempting to log on.

EDIT: Nevermind, peerblock was blocking the update. Should get to play soon!

They're just not in the 2v2 ladder rotation anymore... fine with me, as all the 2v2 maps sucked anyway (except the one they already took out haha). Twilight Fortress is just retarded and Metal and LT don't really seem designed for 2v2 (attackers will win).
 
I'm going to be making a 3v3 or 4v4 map so don't give up hope! This update is taking forever to download though.

I really like the larva change as at first I was always hitting v. :p Makes more sense to me.

StarBob I want to live where you live then because my copy of Warcraft 3 cost $60. :(
 
Yeah, I plan on spending a lot of time with the map editor.....mmmmmm.......
 
Is anyone having trouble with the latest patch? My launcher keeps cycling between downloading the patch, saying it is successfully installed, and it never stop repeating.

edit: nvm. now it works. just says bnet is down for maintenance.
 
Yup, the looping bug is fixed now....I just wish I could download faster. I hit 100k for a second then drops to 0.
 
So I preorder starcraft 2 for to get a beta key and it still hasn't arrived. The website said it might take 1 business day. Should I cancel my order if I don't receive by the 3rd business day?

You cna preorder through amazon now too, I got my beta key in my email this morning. Didn't even know I'd be getting one, so now I have two!

Not sure if I want a new beta key or not, since I'll be having the account all to myself. Though pre-ordering does have its advantages on release day... and you better believe I'm getting SC2 on release day.
 
I am still Letters.letters. Only done a few 2v2's so far... a couple of the new maps are pretty good for it.

Starcraft 2 has not yet been approved for mass worship by the Ecclesiastical Council and the Committee of Elders.


You hear that, Blizzard? YOU DON'T OWN US! Not yet, anyway.

Preorder the game noobs! Amazon and Gamestop are both giving away beta keys with every preorder, so there's no excuse!
 
oh... well let me find some stuff out first, if my little bro doesn't want the key then he gets dibs on it.

Location field isn't always something you can trust in HL2.net :-P

Preordering a game for $60 and getting a beta key is considered a deal?
