Damn you pitz! I played a few games last night and it seems I'm definitely not plat material yet :(
 
I'm kicking ass throughout the leagues. Started as a copper in the 50's when I first started playing, I am now in the top 10 silver and plan to keep kicking people's asses until I am standing on piles of defeated enemies.

Funny note, I told Xev and he couldn't stop yelling. "NO..........NO!" I guess it's a good thing I actually am getting a bit better at the game. I told myself I REALLY wanted to get decent at this one, since I suck at Brood War :(

And nice, Pitz. You should move to Korea. I bet the bronze league there is the same as Platinum.
 
After release, there will be a "pro" league. I wonder if I can magically get there.....

I bet I'll get dropped to gold or silver in no time, though.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll pick it up quickly. Playing against the custom AI scripts was totally not useful... when I wasn't experiencing problems like botched installs and double starting peons/bases, every AI script had at least full map vision, if not a boosted resource gather rate and a killer rush mentality. All I could do was macro my way to Hellions before I got rushed. Every. Game.

So I'm happy with winning 50% of my Bronze (or is it Copper?) matches so far :D

I'm ranked in the high-20's in Gold, based on our game yesterday you should get up here easily :)
 
I saw that last night in game.

I vow to get back into Plat somehow.
 
The only thing that really annoys me about these resets is that they reset your friends list as well. Honestly, its starting to get really annoying to have to re-add people every two weeks.
 
I hope there's more than 5 placement matches this time... for 1v1 at least. I really don't think I'm high-gold material yet so I've only been playing 1v1 sparingly... only have maybe 20ish games played total there.
 
I think they made it 5 so they can get people in the leagues and test the whole "Change leagues when you do so well/bad". Not sure if they plan on changing it back to 10.

I really hope this reset brings the April content patch they promised.
 
What content are they going to include in said patch?
 
My bet is that the content patch will just include the mac client and maybe something like achievements.
 
Maybe 3v3 and 4v4 matchmaking and the maps that come with it?

One can dream :D
 
I think with the content patch they are going to be adding more features to B.net2 and maybe some more unit/balance changes. And really hopefully bigger maps.

They said they wanted to test 1v1 and 2v2 the most during the beta, so I don't expect the other ladder matchmaking yet, but really do hope they give us a few 3v3 and 4v4 to mess around on. That way on busy nights we can all play together. :D
I'm also going to download the mac client when it comes out to see how it runs on the iMac.

I've not been keeping up with Blizzard news but what keeps getting worse? The only bad news I've been hearing related to Blizzard is the shite they've been doing with StarCraft 2 (no lan, no playing people in other continents, etc.)

I wasn't sure what they meant by that either. There have been some recent scandals regarding the SC1 pro scene involving fixing matches, maybe that is what they meant.

BTW you can play with people all over the world just fine (via the use of friends and custom games), I believe that issue is about how rankings are split over several regions.

Oh I never thought it would stop the average kid from playing but couldn't it affect televised SC2 games and under-18 pro players?

I'm hearing that GalaxyEd may be released this week, along with the reset and a balance patch.

Also supposedly the Mac version, but who cares about that, really.

Also we've been having some amazing games lately, and they keep releasing new beta keys every week or two, so you may want to keep checking your emails.
 
The Galaxy Ed will not be released, more than likely. They said if they were going to release it, that it will be towards the end of the beta. People are just making assumptions here, I'll never understand how they got this idea...

If you want a beta key, get on Facebook and add StarCraft to your fan group. They release TONS of keys daily. It's one where they throw a picture up and you have to be quick to type it in before anybody else *You've got a couple seconds before they are all gone.*

But yes, Viper is actually excited for a new game now.

Okay, so I'm seriously temped to order the CE right now.
At Gamestop you can get 25% off the price of an order over 100 with the coupon code 25OFF. Making it a much more attractive $75 if you get something else as well.(Since the CE falls short by 1 cent :().

Edit: Looking at my shopping cart I picked out the SC2 CE and Fallout Trilogy and it comes in at just $82.50.
Blizzard you can have my money!

I'm wasteful, I don't want to go through GameStop. I wonder if Blizzard will have a bundle you can buy on their site for the CE, then you can DL the game and they ship you the CE stuff....that would be cool...I really don't wanna go to a store to buy it. LAZY FTW.

Ace, every game blizzard has released has bee $60.(at least as far back as War3 and maybe Diablo2, hadn't known about them before that to buy the games new)
Their games are always a premium.
 
Anybody have some awesome replays I can watch? I gotta learn how to play starcraft all over again.

I'm planning on buying it with a friend. If you preorder multiple copies and take into account Gamestop's 25% off purchases over $100, it averages to $45 a copy.
