What is your impression towards Chinese?

Speaking of Texas, Numbers, and South Koreans... my city has the one of the largest Korean communities in all of Texas.

Many Korean churches, restaurants and other places.

it was standing room only at gymnastics class the other day as there seemed to be a lot of parents watching their kids that day. I'm standing in front of an elderly man who's sitting with his grandson who's 2 years old and having a hard time sitting there. so he and his grandson get up to take a walk and 30 seconds later a woman (kinda sexy professional type) came up to me with her elderly parents and politely asked if the two seats in front of me were taken. As I'm telling them about the elderly man who had been sitting there previously, two chinese women quickly snuck around us and sat down in the two empty seats. they actually huddled and ducked under my arm to get into the seats ahead of the woman and her elderly parents

this incident illustrates the difference between cultures in an overgeneralised stereotypical way ..but there's always some truth to stereotypes. I know, I know, you come from a country with over 1 billion people and space is at a premium ..but you're not in your country any more


also asians are almost completely humourless unless it involves someone being severly injured. why is that?

btw your country has a shitty human rights track record and political regime



also please can someone of asian descent answer this for me? why the hell do asians travel in packs? it's not uncommon to see an asian couple shopping at the grocer with 3 generations of relatives along for company.they huddle there in the middle of the aisle discussing one particular product oblivious to the people trying to get by. really must they bring 10 people along with them every time they shop?


also I know I'm tall you dont have to keep pointing out to me. (I'm not even that tall - 6' 2") .also I'm not going to kill you so no need to shrink in fear

Uh, maybe you should put your gun away or something. Seriously, wtf? The champion of liberal values seems to have his weak point in dealing with immigrants. D: I've never seen Chinese people behave as if they're in constant fear of their lives. My fiancee does admit, however, that some of her people, especially the recently migrated, are rude and lacking generosity due to the conditions they came from. If you're healthy and fit, they're not going to give you an inch you don't fight for. Her family *never* behaves that way though, and I can vouch for others as well.

Well I guess that depends on how you define "asian comedian." John Cho stars in comedy movies, for example, though he is an American-born Korean. You might consider Jackie Chan a comedian of sorts. There of course is an entire industry of TV and movie stars over there you haven't heard of because they're only in Chinese media, so I hope you're not assuming they don't exist because you haven't heard of them. I watched some Chinese TV over the new year and it would appear they like live sketch comedy, so dialog-based humor appears to be popular. As far as Asians who have come to the US, admittedly I have only seen a handful of minor stand-up comedians among the many of other races. *Shrug*

There are many popular comics in Japan (specifically comedy duos), I've heard of them just from unrelated reading about Japan. Have you actually tried to find any or are you seriously just saying that you don't know any as if you would somehow know about them without any research?

Replace the word "asian" here with "black" and you'd probably get banned for racism. There're 1.4 billion Chinese people (and four billion Asians) in the world, and you judge them all because of your meeting with a couple of individuals. That's the same way of thinking that categories all Muslims as terrorist because of 9/11.
 
I've only ever heard Stern say bad things about Asian people and Asian cultures. That includes constantly attacking Numbers and all his fellow countrymen.

my neice and nephew are half asian. you're also judging based on what you assume. I have nothing against asians; nothign that I said had to do with race but rather culture

An Asian (Thai to be exact) has just helped me with my French coursework - He offered for me to email it to him, and he said he would check over it.

Whilst they are often very serious about work (This same guy has written 5 times the amount of most people for his ICT coursework - I still beat him though hehe), this just shows how kind they can be to :)
