Btw Moonraker, your candidate Rudy Giuliani don't have any problem with theory of evolution and he strongly disagree with teaching of creationism in schools...unlike rest of republicans.
 
Evolution is not a fact, it's a theory, a substantiated theory, but still a theory. A theory is an explanation, of observations/data. In science a fact is something like a mass or a distance.

Granted its a theory, but its been proven within 99.9999% so it might as well be fact.
 
Science has to be skeptical, it can never assume it's definitely correct.
 
Why is it that creation is the only other theory used besides evolution. I think its more likely that an alien race came to earth, created humans, and left....as opposed to an invisible deity in clouds creating everything.

That should be the third theory, ill call it....The Aliens came to earth and pooped out humans and left theory

If it's Obama vs Huckabee, it's a tough choice. Obama has youthful enthusiasim, but youthful stupidity too. Huckabee is intelgent, but only on things he knows (which isn't alot)

It's like choosing between 1 month old cheese, or 1 month old milk. You get the same thing, each with it's sourness.
 
You had to be watching the news. He didn't know about the writers strike. Theres a few other things which suggest he's simply ignorant on the facts of some things.

Where in the hell does the writers strike come in, you said he was intelligent, but also ignorant. it doesn't make sense.
 
He's intelligent on only things he knows about to exist. everything else he's completely ignorant on.(which is a wide range of things from Iran to the Writer's Strike.)

I don't know, maybe it's just my wording of it. You have to watch his speeches and interviews to see what i mean.

You should learn proper sentence structure since it's a pain to understand what you are saying.

Being ignorant on things that are extremely important in politics doesn't make him intelligent, it means he's ignorant. he can't be both.
 
no, he's intelligent on thing that people care about. I think this makes him kind of a panhandler.

Huckabee isn't the smartest, but he's not Bush, so that can only be better.

Not at all, that's a very narrow-minded approach, the same narrow minded approach most Christians take.

Presuming the existence of God, what would stop God from creating creatures that physically change, adapt, and evolve. There are other ways God can co-exist with evolution, even if you presume creatures all started as microbes and eventually ended up where we are today. If creationists were on top of things, they would use evolution as "evidence of God's genius in his creation." Instead they shun everything related to evolution, and inadvertently are hurting their cause, basically putting their faith on the line over a scientific issue (like the world being flat).

There are major holes in Darwinian evolution theory that haven't been filled yet, so even from a scientific perspective it's ludicrous to put it on the same level as gravitational theory.

I'm not sure about MAJOR holes but even gravitational theory have some "holes" like hypothetical graviton particles etc.
Evolution theory is corner stone of modern biology, medicine and other fields of science and it's absolutely disgusting when people like politicians want to replace modern science with biblical myths.

No scientific theory is perfect, but its going to take some pretty damn big holes to sink Natural Selection.

Why does it matter. It says who "would" you vote for in the topic, no who you "will". I don't see you yelling at all the Europeans on this? they can't vote if their not us citizens.

Major holes meaning large portions of the theory that are very unknown. Holes don't imply evidence for or against it. I thought I already established that evolution does exist on at least some level. Regardless that's not my point, my point was that evolution and creation are not mutually exclusive.
 
I swear to god if someone uses government resourses to counter "Global Warming" I'm gonna have to kill myself.... What a worthless waste of resourses. used to end a political stance, not an actual phenominon.
 
Anyone using government resources to pro/against global warming won't get my vote. It's a scientific issue that's been overloaded by politics.
 
Although it's a scientific issue, it's not a totallly academic issue. If Science says it's happening, surely the Government must work to reduce it?
