Who's looking forward to Mass Effect 2 ?

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

Hmm... Not as good as I had hoped. But it will have to do for now.

As anyone else pissed of that you can't remove the helmet for DLC armours. I stopped using my Blood Dragon Armour because it sucks having to wear an helmet during dialogue scenes.

Yeah I think so... But I could be wrong. Let me know how it works out.
Well, for anyone who's wondering about how importing works, basically it appears as though ME1 creates an 'invisible' save file whenever you complete a game. This is what ME2 picks up when you chose to import a character - not any of the actual save files you load games from. I have a game saved just before the ending, and one saved at level 50 part-way into a fresh playthrough, and when I imported it picked up my character as level 47, which is what I was when I finished. So yeah, don't bother trying to grind any extra levels. :p

Also, having level 40 gave me a grand total of one extra level to start with.

One.

really loving this game, have 10 hrs in and lvl 8 i'm think i'm at. searching for more supplies on planets is a little bit easier with the upgrade that searches 2x as fast. also the action in this game is intense! So much more fun than the 1st game thats for sure.

Yeah, all that grinding is not really worth it IMO. Three levels at 48.

Yeah, I only wore it for one mission because of that... it was just weird.

I took the visor that gives you +5% headshot damage. It looks cool even in conversation, and is complimentary to my playstyle.

I'm in that Collector's Armor and its pretty bad ass! reminds me too much of Dragon Age though

Question, in this game(and the first one for that matter) can you just open fire and kill anyone you want anywhere?

I finally completed it. Took me some 30 odd hours. Did all the side quests and scanned all planets.
Even though i was a bit disappointed with the reduced RPG elements, the storyline and characters make up for it. The combat is fun and challenging but the friendly AI can be a bit on the retarded side. They tend to retreat to far off cover instead of sticking close by your side. I found myself fighting enemies alone in several combat situations. Hopefully this will be patched. Apart from that, there are no complaints. Bioware, once again, delivers an exciting and fun adventure with an engaging storyline and a world filled with diversity. I can't wait for third installment.

One important thing to add. When you do the missions for each of your crew members, be sure that you succeed and gain their loyalty. No matter what the cost. Even if it raises your renegade bar, it's worth the cost because it will have an impact on the very last mission. I'll include more info in spoiler tags.

You can lose several of your members in the last aka Suicide Mission if you don't have their loyalty and/or pick the wrong crew member to do the task. For example, i lost Miranda because i picked her for the Fire Team and Thane along with her because i didn't have his loyalty. I don't know why i lost Miranda though. She was suitable to lead the last 2nd squad. It's probably because Thane was in the team with her and that must have had an impact on the outcome. I also didn't have Zaeed's loyalty but he did survive. From what i have gathered, gaining Thane's loyalty is a bitch and requires a very high Paragon bar. My was filled about 80% but i still failed and couldn't stop his son from assassinating his target. As for Zaeed, just don't save the workers and go straight for the Blue Suns leader. Yes, it will raise your Renegade bar but you will gain his loyalty along with a new power.

It's also possible to gain his loyalty using the Paragon route.

It's not going anywhere, I'll pick it up when it's dirt cheap here.

Explain how then because i was unable to.
Maybe it was the extra paragon options that came with importing my character or from leveling, but I had the option to tell him to put all his shit behind him until our mission was over and he agreed.

Yeah, that's gotta be it. I didn't have a save from the original game nor this dialog option even though my Paragon bar was pretty high. That's ok. I plan on replaying both games in the near future.

Um, my Mass Effect character importer says my save file isn't valid despite being completed? Any ideas?

Thanks for all the words of advice guys, but I sorted it.

Loving the game so far. Combat is challenging, dialogue and characters are perfect and the environments and general graphics are stunning.

I almost have my entire crew but I'm finding the DLC to be just as good as the original content! also do you level quicker with a harder difficulty or easier??

Just beat it, will definitely choose a different path at the end.
Lost Mordin, for some reason. Had everyone's loyalty up, had Jack do biotic shield on me, and Grunt take the crew back. I also gave the base to Illusive Man, which I will not do on my second run.

Pretty great game overall.

Who did you select for the other tasks?

Legion went in the pipe, Miranda led the fire team both times. I brought Grunt and Garrus on the first part, sent Grunt with the crew. Last two areas I used Garrus and Thane.

Should have worked since Miranda is a natural leader. Try Garrus next time because she died along with Thane on my second fire team. I didn't have Thane's loyalty though nor Zaeed's. That could have played a factor in her death. As for the pipe, go with Tali. She is the best Tech on team. I used her and she survived on my team. This mission's really tricky. I Am going to play through the first game next time and hike up my Paragon bar before i play ME 2 again. I think that it has to be a specific sequence in which you pick those members for all of them to survive. I Am not going to play it again until somebody has figured it out

I used Legion to go through the pipe, with Miranda as fire support both times and Garrus and Grunt with me. I then used Jack to hold the biotic field while grunt went back with the survivors and I took Legion and Garrus with me. Finally used Miranda and Thane to battle Reaper. Everyone survived. I had everyone loyal on my team with a full crew from the start of the mission.

I'd love to know every factor that goes into deciding who lives and dies.

Aw this is bullshit. I enterd my brand new cerebrus code, and it keeps telling me it's invalid. Bullshit. And it can't seem to find my ME1 characters.

What I did for the final mission:

Everyone on my team survived including me. I sent Legion through the pipes, Garrus to lead the second team both times since part of his backstory is that he used to lead a Mercenary group so I figured it works for him naturally. Had Samara do the biotic shield cause she's a super biotic. I had Jacob take the prisoners back. Took Grunt and Mordin with me every time cause they complemented my Adept character well. I didn't know any of your team members could die at this part, lol

Anyone else brogasmed when

met Wrex for the first time. Those are the situations the brofist has been invented for

End Mission stuff.

My method
Tali = Vent
Miranda = Leader of second team and diversion team
Mordin = Send back with crew
Biotic Shield = Samara

Bam you win.

I had Garrus and Legion with me popping heads. Sniper rifles make everything easy.

Is Wrex worth saving for the second game? Y/N

Then Shepard asked him, "What is your name?" "My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many."

Just picked up 'the Convict,' goddamn talk about acceptable losses.

Hey we're here to pick up a dangerous felon on this gang-run prison colony that releases people to the highest bidder OH WAIT YOU WANT TO CAPTURE US INSTEAD welp guess I'll just blow you stupid shit up HEH.
That and the 'revenge' mission for that other guy. Damn straight I'm a renegade.

Really really loving how things from the first game come back to effect you in subtle or massive ways, or even just as a friendly email. It makes me kind of apprehensive about starting another character fresh in ME2, but I really don't want to have to play through the first game again...

Edit: Whoops those aren't spoiler tags.

Mine,

Tali = Vent
Garrus = Leader of Second teams
Grunt = send back with crew
Shield = Samara

I kept Thane and Legion with me, with snipers. Two Widows (mine and Legion's) made it ridiculous.

Only Miranda died, because she got all pissy after a side mission and I lost her loyalty. It really doesn't matter who you choose, I think, just that they have loyalty.
