On December 9th, 1978, a villiage was attacked by 120 North Korean Elites.

5 of them went to a house. They asked Lee Seungbok, aged 10, whether he liked South Korea or North Korea.

The boy replied: "I hate communism!"

The soldiers ripped his mouth up and shot him dead.

His brother was stabbed 37 times, but mirculously survived and warned the police.

We now have statues of him.

You hate communism when you really should be hating the kinds of people that will kill children.

Well this thread came just in the nick of time, I was about to abolish democracy and parade the streets in a pro-communist revolt.

Well, communists killed this boy and his entire family, except his brother who escaped. That shows that evil commie bastards need to be wiped out.

This boy became the very symbol of anti-communism and anti-communist education. This guy is in Ethics textbooks.

He's a national hero, a martyr.

A crazy guy with a knife and a gun will kill whoever he damn well pleases with no instigation whatsoever. I think that is the moral to this story.
 
The problem is not communism, its extremist politics and authoritarianism. Numbers, your government would do the same thing in a heartbeat to a communist kid who said "I love communism". The more I hear from you the more that I see North and South Korea are really just mirrors of each other with seemingly opposite ideologies.

fascism isnt the same as national socialism with aryan supremacist beliefs.. however, the communists in north korea etc employ fascist methods
 
Numbers, you infer from many particulars and made up a generalization about the communism. Then again, this sad story is isolated and particular to the situation and to the group of mutineers and does not reflect the communism doctrines.

Please, do not conclude generalizations from a insulated case.

How come the 37 stab wounds kid doesnt get a statue? I would be pissed if i were that kid.
 
There is nothing wrong with communism other then it just doesn't work out in practice. If you have an unfounded hate for communism its probably because of captalist brain washing. I know it may sound absurd. The only reasons communism has been hated is 1) because the bourgeoisie want to stay as the bourgeoisie (therefore anti-communist propaganda) 2) because people do not know the difference between communism and stalinism. Get more educated on the subject. Read Karl Marx's work. I'm not promoting communism i just get pissed off when people start bashing it and don't even understand what it is.
 
I'm with numbers on this, mostly because I like him. But I don't see any reason to hate communists (other than they shot a kid's face off) or any reason NOT to hate communists (other than they're "misunderstood" or something).
 
If that's why you hate communists, your beliefs are on very shakey ground.

Anyway, I know this may be an isolated thing, but their notion of eternal revolution, undermining the social structure and stability of already established peace makes me get pissed too.
 
This strikes me as bullshit propaganda designed to get exactly that reaction from eijits like yourself numbers.

Tell that to the the "Anti-Communist Boy Hero" who had his mouth ripped up, tell that to his brother, tell that to his entire family, tell that to the soldiers that died capturing the bastards.

You'll see my point.


I understand exactly that anti-communism education of Korea could be percieved as "propaganda" to other people, but to us, its an insurance of security.
 
Propganda works. It's worked on all (ok, most) of us. Numbers is just an extreme example.
