WoW Cataclysm

Why the **** is the Goblin racial +Alchemy instead of +Engineering?

Gnomes already have eng. Can't have profession racials doubling up now, can we! (Except belf/draenei :p)

I think it's silly given that Engineering has/had specialisations in both Gnomish and Goblin.

Also it shames me to say that I'm enjoying the Worgen starting zone a hell of a lot more than the Goblin one. Meanwhile my main is in Mount Hyjal, which is just okay so far. After waiting for it for years and years I was hoping for something cooler.

The first Horde quest in Hillsbrad is the funniest quest ever. You get to give out quests.

Three dudes come by. The conversations you have with them are quite funny. Here is your typical all-purple best dragon evar type of player.

Downed Argaloth last night, Warrior T11 dropped :(
Trying for Druid T11 tonight ;D

So who here is 85 yet? I'm still 80 due to insufficient funds.

I sold my account 3 years ago for about $400. I called Blizzard tech support today and told them it was "hacked" and got it back. Good stuff. In the meantime it got banned and my character was renamed/trasnferred. They reversed everything though.

I don't know whether to be disgusted or entertained.

Edit: Oopsies double post.

Nearing 85 with my druid, but man, it seems like they kind of gutted feral without really adding anything new (besides an interrupt, which is incredibly basic utility for a ****ing melee class and should have been in from the start). Seriously considering changing my main, since I don't really care for either of the other druid specs.

8000 silly fun points down the drain (yes, I am an utter poopsocker). :(

I just hit 85 last night so i'll be on my way to gearing for heroics.

I've heard that the heroics are way harder than they were in WotLC.

I am level 22 with my Goblin mage. :)

The Horde quest line in Silverpine is really cool btw. Especially the ending was kinda mind blowing.

Hit 85 last thursday despite delivery delays due to the snow. Heroics have been good fun but a little annoying when trying to sneak one in before going to bed only for it to take an hour or so. We've killed the first two raid bosses in the twilight bastion and they were pretty fun. Tried a couple in Blackrock Descent right after we'd hit 85 - that wasn't pretty :p

This might as well just be the general WoW thread now.

They are, but then that's not saying much as WotLK heroics were a complete push-over. They're not quite up to the difficulty of Burning Crusade heroics though, I don't think. :p

I'm getting this on Friday night,if anyone could cast a scroll of resurrection on my account that way I'd get 2 free months I think and the person that referred me would get 2 free months as well.

Well, here's to hoping that they're less boring, because WotLK heroics got seriously boring after time, because they were too easy.

5 more days till tests are over, then I can finally start leveling up and basking in Cataclysm glory.

Oh yeah, did the new season PvP items come out yet?

You're a fool to think that Feral is gutted. Right now, Caster classes may have the larger advantage over melee (and have for some time) but Feral is definately the strongest melee next to the DK.

I'll have to see how they are at 85, but it's just boring me a little now. I don't know, maybe I'm just too used to playing feral. That coupled with how they simplified our 'rotation' (or rather, priority list) without actually adding anything new... yeah, it doesn't really stimulate me any more I guess.

Don't even get me started on bear tanking, though. When I actually prefer to tank on my 60 paladin instead of my 80 druid, something is kind of wrong.

I finally tried me some dungeons with some guildies (currently lvl 4 guild) and we did pretty good but didn't finish the run because people had to go to bed. it was awesome looking and reminded me of Mt Olympus in God of War 3

Am I the only one here who is doing the new lvl 1-60 content? You guys don't know what you are missing. The quests are so much better than the original ones. And it is not just the starting areas; everything is different.

Yeah I'm working on a goblin mage. It's nice to see they re-did all the old content and added much better questlines. I just reached 32 last night.

I highly recommend trying the new Forsaken 1-20 plot line, while the the first 10 levels are mostly spruced up versions of the original quests, the Silverpine Forest plot is completely new, you get to visit gilneas and take part in the worgen conflict from the Forsaken perspective, it also sets up the revamped Shadowfang Keep with some special significance.

I've done a few heroics. I'd say they're on par with what BC heroics were when they started. Not all of them of course, some are easier than othese. I figure in a few months when people gear up they'll be easier. Probably not WotLK easy but easier than they are now. Currently I have to exhaust most of my mana on trash alone.

What's really a challenge right now is PvP. People do so much damage and have so much health that healing can't get close to keeping up with them. I can easily see why they nerfed the mortal strike mechanics. Before you could cast a big heal or 2 and top out anyone. Now your biggest heal might take 5-7 heals to fully heal someone. I don't see it changing much either considering stamina is going to go up just as fast as int. It will probably get a little better at some point, but it's rough right now to be a healer in pvp. Even so, it's not unreasonable to be there because even if you do only heal one or two people to full health it justifies your existence.

Yay for the random dungeon finder. I did two SM:GY runs plus 1x Gnomer tonight. In between I finished the Hillsbrad questline and started in Arathi. And I dinged 30! My Armory profile.

If you have WoW and all the previous expansions, they just opened up a ten day trial of the new Cataclysm content. They did the same thing with WotLK, which is what convinced me to grab it.

Been having a LOT of glitches with the goblins. Important stuff too, like "my pet won't attack", or "my health doesn't replenish and the game won't let me eat."

Seems to me that blizz is on vacation because there are assloads of bugs around and they're just not fixing them. They're hotfixing bullshit instead of fixing blatantly obvious bugs. For instance, in the new Tol Barad zone, Horde NPC guards attack (and blow your ass up) but Alliance guards don't aggro at all. There's also a daily quest in Deepholm that's been bugged since launch. It's lame that they're busy trying to balance things that aren't unbalanced before they fix game breakers.

Is this in the starter zone? Hunters and warlocks can't command their pets to attack or anything until level 10 now, you have to learn it at a trainer. Caught me out too, especially since my action bar addon made the command bar appear anyway.

Yeah I had noticed that, but I'm 13 and purchased the move already. It works about half the time.

Rogue is mega fun for PvP, especially Worgen, the extra sprint helps in WSG.

being a worgen is like playing a SP rpg...the first 12 lvls anyway.

Both new starting zones have that going on. I think a lot of people really loved how it was done for the Death Knight so Blizzard decided to do similar with the new races. I kind of wish the old starting zones got a more awesome makeover. The troll one is all I've tried and while it's a bit different, it's not nearly as cool as the Goblin/Worgen.

I am almost lvl 50 with my Goblin mage. Leveling with the random dungeon finder goes so damn quick. Even at this level I ding about three to four levels every night. I can hardly keep up with my professions.

I was thinking about doing that, but I really want to see all the new stuff in the low zones.

I only started the dungeons around lvl 20, 25 or so. Plus as a dps I never get into a group right away, so in between instances I simply quest and do some mining for my engineering.

Same here, I'm too high for the zones I'm questing in due to the dungeon finder! But it's still good fun, I'm in no huge rush to level.
