It's just a delay effect on a mono signal. For example:
If the audio signal is represented on the left side of the stereo image, then it will be replecated on the right side but slightly delayed, and at a lower volume. Doing this gives a mono signal a very spacial sound. This effect can be...
AMD Athlon 64 FX-51 is faster than the P4 3.2GHz, so go with that if money is no concern.
2 gigs of RAM is a waste, even if you aren't concerned with how much you're spending. Unless you do serious video/audio editing, you're best to spend your money on 1 gig of high quality, low-latency...
Valve has put a lot of effort into Half-life 2 and didn't for one second deserve what they got with the source and content leak. I wasn't about to indirectly support the "hacker's" actions by downloading any part of the stolen content.
I suppose my reason more closely resembles "moral code"...
The first was very complete in itself storywise, and that coupled with the great action sequences made it a very very good, complete movie.
The second however, seems to need the third movie to make it's entire point. It gets extremely deep, and gives you a lot to ponder (which is good), but...
I realise there would have been cheats one way or another, it's just that now with the source floating around, cheats will be much more common than if the source hadn't been leaked.
I personally think they should delay it and do some major code rewrites. One thing I was looking forward to with HL-2 was cheat free gaming, or at least a game that was hopefully hard to create cheats for. Now that's all out the window.
Everyone says that about any game that's been out for a while. "Remember the good old version.."
If you can't handle change, maybe you shouldn't play online games.
Riven: The Sequel to Myst
Then..
Myst III: Exile
Seems strange that the third game I'd be hyped about would be Half-Life 2. "One of theessee thingss, doesssnn'tt beelloonnggg".
30th release date doesn't necessarily mean it will only be SHIPPED on the 30th. I've worked retail, and for larger titles the game usually shipped a few days in advance, and was not sold until a specified date. If it was sold before that date, then the store would get fined. However, considering...
It's nice to see some intelligence on the forums. I myself like Valve as a company, and do support Steam. However, I also do not object to the arguments you've made. Valve does seem sincerely concerned about their customers, so I believe they will have workarounds for various problems or...
I scanned through the topics on the first and second pages and didn't see any threads that looked to be about this. If one has been made already, then as always, delete this thread before I get flammed please.
Anyways, as taken from www.anandtech.com.
If you're taking about the article Anandtech put up (which was an overclocked Opteron and not even an Athlon 64), it beat out the P4 by 50% in some gaming benchmarks, not all.
It does look like a good CPU. Although, I hope the rumours are true about Yamill and Intel's 64-bit extension in...
Opteron overclocked to simulate the new Athlon64 killed in gaming benchmarks, but is pretty much on par if not a bit better with top of the line P4's and current Athlon's everywhere else. Looks like Athlon64 will probably do quite well, especially in a 64bit environment. I have quite a lot of...
