There's been a lot of people who have said they'd have spent hundreds n a subscription since hl1 and I can see that but there's also the flipside of people who spent £40 on hl1 and played it for a couple of weeks and never went back. I know it really doesn't apply to many of us on these boards...
YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY MORE FOR THE EXTRA VERSIONS. Buy the normal one and you get everything you thought you were going to get before anyone mentioned the packages. If you don't want multiplayer then buy the smaller version which has everything you need and will be cheaper than you thought. All...
"Why doesn't somone email Gabe and ask him if the shop-bought CD version of HL2 actually contains a multiplayer game on the CD?"
I believe that Gabe has already stated that mp will be on the disk in the normal pachage however for the sake of argument lets play along. So hl2 multiplayer is a...
If you do not like the subscription idea then just don;t do it, stick to more traditional choices. If subscription was the ONLY option I could see why people are getting angry but it's not. Pay as normal and move on.
Feath you have done a damn good job banging your head against the wall of anarchy but I think it's time you left the bewildered one to his fate, i think he's just doing it to get attention.
Newton's 4th law: No matter how much you shake it, the last bit always goes down your trouse leg.
I can see why they've done the subscription system and as logic says it will be interesting to see what happens. They do have the fall back option of just shipping the normal boxed version if necassary if steam or the licences don't work out. My only worry is that releasing a game as big as half...
Anarchy. TF2 is a new game, it's a sequel to Team Fotress. It has nothing at all to do with TFC which was an entirely different game. Even if it was do vavle not have a right to charge for software they have spent years making? Or should they give everything away free just because somone did...
Ok going back to the original question. I know what you mean about the "feel" of guns in computer games. I can't claim to have any experience of using a real gun but I get a more satifying (maybe not the right word) experience using guns in hl and cs etc than in most other games. I cannot tell...
LeeUK and others who want to flame that get a sense of humour please I thought that was hilarious.
Oh yeah and stop using fag and gay as derogatory terms please this is a games forum not a meeting of the nazi party.
HL2 is on schedule but the pay to play multiplayer steam account delay simulation coming out where you have to compare 4 different game engines that don't exist and speculate wildly about things you have no information on is going to be delayed until "Holiday 2003" at which point it will be...
I can't understand the "I hope it's delayed so I can upgrade" mentality. Delay it in your own world and don't buy it but don't wish delays on the rest of us please. You could always play it on your old kit and then upgrade and play it again. Would be a good test of how much gfx and framerate etc...
multiplayer, prepare to taste the future..
Anyone think they could be hinting at a futuristic version of a current game? Or just a whole new concept in terms of multiplayer gaming?
CS circa year 3000 might be a laugh but with statements like that from gabe i'm hoping for something...
Steam is free but you can use it to purchase software which will cost money. It can also scan the files you have and send you just the files you need for your set up, so you will only get the right files for your setup and save on space. Also with the scanning of files it should be able to help...
The vid anwar describes does appear to have much more graphical detail on the later footage in the vid than the earlier stuff. I guess it's different builds of the software. I can't wait to see the physics stuff with the lighting etc from the latter half of the vid
