Need to watch out because I thought that the region changes are part of the firmware that you can't get at so if you do change it too many times, then it will stay at the region unless you get some sort of software that will allow you to change the region without using up all the changes...
I didn't realise that you could pick up a 3500+ for that price. Gone down loads since I bought it but oh well :( Good componants and I hear that once you unlock and overclock the x800gto, they are pretty good!
Just googled the name and my mate had one of the earlier versions of this phone and it is pretty cool so I'd imagine that this one is even better. Cool looking phone!
3500+ is a great cpu, but it is still quite expensive and i'm not sure of your budget. The 3200+ is still a good cpu and if you are an overclocker, then there is nothing stoping you upping the speed of it to 3500+ speeds.
EDIT: btw it would probably be best for you to include a 1gb dual...
You can pick up a 3200+ for about £120 and thats with the reference heatsink. There are loads of skt939 mobo's out there with the features you specified above so its just a case of seeing which one is the best within your budget. I would personnaly look at boards from Asus, Abit, MSI & DFI.
They used liquid nitro to cool the thing! Its not at all practical. Its just like those Intel 7Ghz jobs that you see where the guy has dismantled his pc and its all over the place in his house and his wife/girlfriend has either left him or is thinking about leaving him because the pc gets more...
Pricey shipping to Canada..
I have had a scout about on the net and I can't seem to find any info on being able to 'turn off' the hot swappable features. I mean I'm never going to use it so it would be useful if you could.
I'm not sure if it uses teh HDR technology in the loading screen, but if it does then you could always look for a console command to turn off HDR and tone down some of the settings to make it at least load.
What I thought..
Where did you get the game, if its from ebay or some p2p/warez site then I'd say that you need to buy the game. You can pick it up pretty cheaply now!
It ran ok, not great but ok on my 9800pro at 1024x768 with no AA/AF but once I had upgraded to my 7800GT, the difference became clear. 1280x1024 4xAA 8xAF all settings on high, HDR on full, v-sync on and it ran at pretty much 60fps with the odd drop down to 30 now and again and it looked...
have you tried going to the fraps folder in program files running the main exe file just to make sure its not a dodgy problem with the shortcut that the installer is creating during installlation. Also after you have tried to run it, Press control, alt & delete and see if fraps.exe is running.
That applys for most examples, but some of them are actually cheaper and faster thank stock 7800gts like the one I got and is linked to a couple of replys back, the overclockers.co.uk link
You could get a X800XL for around £200. The card will be fast enough for Source games (not sure about lost cost with teh HDR) but I would say that your cpu will slow it down but upgrading the ram will give you a boost too.
Probably try and sell it somewhere, why you interested? :P Very good condition, all the cables, manuals, cd's fully boxed. My 9800pro was an OEM card but it does come fitted with an arctic cooler HSF so its cool and quiet.
Yeh I was reading about it earlier. You don't happen to know if there is a way to turn it off because I'm never going to need to hotswap my drive, I mean its my system drive!
I didn't think it would affect performance, its just that its annoying because I like to have a minimal systray (Trillian, NOD32, Microsoft Antispyware, wlan icon & speaker icon). I'll try uninstalling the ide cable drivers. Hopefully it will work.
On another note, I jsut installed Far Cry and...
Well I just got my new system all setup with my new graphics card and motherboard. Everything is great except 1 thing. After I installed the nvidia chipset drivers, my IDE harddisc appears like its a removable device which adds teh "safely remove hardware" icon to the systray. Now, I remember...
