A good safe temp range is 40ish idle, 50ish under work. If you start getting to 90s, you are at risk of damaging your proceesor and your computer will probably shut down at random from overheating. Not really a problem unless you overclock and / or your cooling is screwed.

I recognize that write error. If you use a plugin which has options in it, and you try and alter some, you will get that error because it can't write to the .txt or .cfg. At least I got that or a similar error when I tried to change a plugin's font size. I think it requires the plugin creator...

6600\3200 indeed. You can upgrade the CPU eventually, and the latest games are more GPU reliant, so you'll probably get better performance with the 6600, as both 3200 and 3500 are capable CPUs.
