so if it doesn't always happen (isn't activated) how is that being scripted? A scripted event (like seeing an elevator with scientists crash) happens EVERY TIME you play HL, and there is no way about it. Not the same as having a barney in a room and blasting away at the big blind tentacle...

In the 2004 e3 vid, I think part of why they had the strider video twice was to show that it wasn't the same and therefore, not scripted. In one the strider impales a guy, another time he doesn't, The order of guys killed is different. etc.

steam updates are pretty frequent if you ask me. and the last 4 or so binks weren't promised to us at a certani date. they just got released without warning. so i;ll forget about when the first binks showed up being opened with hex editors and were late by a week or 3 : )
